Start in America, and receive three assassins every day.

Chapter 3, The First Pot of Gold, Brook

"Oh no! This is all our possessions."

The two men resisted fiercely, but were still overwhelmed by Anton and his two companions, who then searched them and found some US dollars on their persons.

"Check the shoes and pants too; these are the places where money is most likely to be hidden."

Chen An pointed to their shoes and said.

Anton nodded and immediately began to pull at the two men's shoes and pants, but was met with fierce resistance. Seeing this, Anxing punched them directly, and the two men immediately became obedient, whimpering.

After checking the two men's shoes and pants, Anton surprisingly found two $20 bills.

Chen An's eyes lit up. "You really did hide money. 40 US dollars. You two are very rich."

He didn't mind the strange smell emanating from the US dollars and simply stuffed them into his pocket.

Chen An then put the garbage bag into the cart and pushed it away, leading An Dong and the others.

The two lay silently on the ground, their faces filled with utter despair. "He's a devil! He wouldn't even spare a single thing!"

"Damn it! We have to get revenge!"

The two struggled to their feet and staggered toward their camp, swearing all the while.

at the same time.

Chen An and his group continued collecting scrap.

Time quickly passed to 10 p.m., and the cart was already full, with copper making up a quarter of it, along with valuable scrap such as aluminum.

"Anton, let's go sell these to someone else and see how much money we can get. If it's not enough, we'll have to find other work."

He then took out his phone, opened the Los Angeles map, and headed toward the nearest recycling center. Anton followed behind him pushing a cart, while the other two stood on his left and right sides. With such a formidable presence, who would dare to approach?

After walking a kilometer, my feet felt slightly numb.

"It seems we'll have to buy them a car when we have more money. This way of walking isn't a solution; it's inefficient and our shoes are likely to wear out."

Chen An muttered to himself.

Fortunately, we finally arrived at the recycling station. The huge neon sign was flashing, making it easy to spot at a glance.

As Chen An and the others entered, they saw that the room was filled with scrap. An elderly man in his forties with a thick beard came over and said...

"Asian kid, check out the price."

Chen An took the price list handed to him and started looking at it.

Aluminum can: $0.82; Brass: $2.00; Stainless steel: $0.27...

He wasn't entirely sure about the price, but it should be roughly the same, so he asked, "Okay, how much can we get from this recycling?"

"You need to sort them first," the boss said.

Upon hearing this, he instructed Anton and the other two to sort the items, and they spent some time doing so.

Seeing this, the shopkeeper started weighing the items and quickly quoted a price.

"It adds up to $150 in total."

Chen An looked disappointed. "So little?"

Keep in mind that this was a job done by four people, so each person wouldn't even earn $37.5!

Not even enough money for food!

"That's how the price is; you can have a lot of junk that's worthless."

"Okay, deal." $150 it is, better than nothing. We'll think of another way tomorrow. There are plenty of ways to make money for people from China.

Upon hearing this, the boss handed over $150.

Chen An reached into his pocket, and with the $45 he had stolen, his savings reached $195.

After a busy half-day, the efficiency is still not as fast as grabbing something.

Then, he pushed the cart and walked towards the apartment.

That's all for today. Tomorrow we'll get three more assassins, and we'll earn even more. And so on, so there's no worry about not making money.

Shortly after, Chen An arrived at the convenience store downstairs in his apartment building and bought four sandwiches and a bowl of instant noodles, spending a total of $30.

"Anton, it'll be tough for you at first, but I'll treat you to all the good life later."

As Chen An spoke, he handed each person a sandwich.

Although Anton and his two companions were loyal and obedient, he would still show them full respect.

The three of them sat down outside the apartment and began to eat without saying a word.

He went back to his apartment, heated up a kettle of water, made instant noodles, and ate a sandwich while waiting.

Then I took out my phone, the screen of which was slightly cracked. I found a number in my contacts and dialed it, but after waiting for a long time, it was still busy and no one answered.

"It seems I have to go to school again tomorrow. Now that the survival problem is solved, I won't starve to death for the time being."

The instant noodles were ready by then. I quickly ate the noodles and drank the soup in one gulp, and that was how dinner was settled.

Exhausted after a long day, Chen An lay down on the bed and quickly fell asleep.

Anton and his men rested outside the door, ready to react immediately to any disturbance.

The next day, early in the morning.

Chen An almost suddenly woke up and sat up straight.

"I had another nightmare."

Since his sister went missing, he hasn't had a good night's sleep, and he's always woken up by nightmares.

I glanced at the clock on the wall; it was 6 a.m.

"System, deploy today's three assassins."

Chen An said.

[Ding! Deployment complete!]

Upon hearing this, Chen An got up, quickly washed up, and then led An Dong and the other two downstairs and out of the apartment. Just then, the three newly arrived assassins also walked quickly from a distance.

"Mr. Chen!"

"Okay, Anxing, take them to where we were yesterday and continue collecting scrap. Try to stick together as a group and act immediately if there is any danger."

An Xing nodded. "Yes!"

An Xing and his group of five then pushed the cart toward the same spot as before.

Chen An then led An Dong toward the top university his sister attended, determined to find a clue today.

Soon, Chen An and An Dong arrived at the gate of Caltech and saw students walking into the campus in twos and threes.

Fortunately, there were no restrictions on entering or leaving the university, and they were able to enter the campus smoothly. However, even after arriving here, Chen An still felt at a loss and did not know how to start the investigation.

"Are you Mr. Chen An?"

Just then, a voice suddenly came from beside me.

Upon hearing this, he quickly looked over and saw a black man sitting on a wooden chair not far away, holding a book in his hand.

"You know me?" Chen An looked surprised.

Upon seeing this, the black man slowly stood up. He was very tall, about 1.9 meters, and quickly came to stand in front of Chen An.

"Chen Wan mentioned you to me and even saw your photo. She said you're a very good older brother."

Upon hearing this, Chen An immediately grabbed the other person's arm excitedly and pressed, "You know my sister? Do you know where she is now?"

The Black man was clearly startled by Chen An's actions, but he still spoke up, "I don't know either. I haven't seen her at the library lately. Did something happen to her?"

Chen An nodded. "She's missing."

"Oh! That's bad news. Chen Wan is a very nice person. We get along very well academically, and she often mentions you to me."

"She shouldn't have ended up like this."

In America, everyone knows that once a person goes missing, there is a 90% chance they won't be found, and even if they are, they will be a cold, lifeless corpse.

The person in front of him was the only one who knew Chen Wan, and he wanted to get some clues from her.

"I still don't know your name."

"Mr. Chen An, my name is Brooke."

"Brook, do you know who my sister has been spending a lot of time with lately?"

Upon hearing Chen An's question, Brooke looked thoughtful, recalling his conversation with Chen Wan, and then shook his head, "I'm sorry, I don't know much about Chen Wan's private affairs, so I'm afraid I can't help you."

Chen An looked disappointed and waved his hand, "It's nothing."

"It's getting late, I have to go to work," Brooke said.

Chen An was taken aback. "Aren't you a student at UCLA?"

Brooke smiled. "No, I'm a dockworker, but I love learning, so I come here early every day to study, hoping to change my social class."
