Chapter 14 Purchasing Firearms
While Hank was contacting the seller, Chen An checked on Anton and the others. Nothing unexpected had happened, so it seemed that last night's operation had not had a major impact.
"Emily, this is the lunch I brought for you."
Emily reached out and took it, then quietly began to eat.
Knock knock knock!
Soon there was a knock on the door.
Upon seeing this, Chen An got up and went to open the door. When he opened the door, he saw Cameron standing outside with a group of homeless people of Black, White and Latino descent, numbering about a dozen.
"That's all?"
Cameron explained, "Boss, these are just the people still inside the building. There are some who have gone out and will probably be back tonight. If they hear about this benefit, they will definitely agree. The number should be around forty."
Upon hearing this, Chen An nodded and calmly looked at the group of people. "Anyone using drugs? Let me be clear from the start, I don't want drug addicts."
Everyone shook their heads. "Boss, we don't touch that stuff. You need a medical check-up to move into the Graffiti Building, so nobody touches that stuff."
Seeing this, Chen An felt slightly relieved. If someone was using drugs, it would be very troublesome and might implicate him.
However, half of this group consisted of the elderly, the weak, the sick, and the disabled, and were short in stature. Apart from a few individuals who still possessed some fighting ability, the rest were basically unable to fight, which explains why their territory was seized.
"Alright, Cameron, gather them together first, and we'll move out tonight. I'll send someone to assist you."
Hearing Chen An's words, Cameron nodded, "Yes, boss."
He then led a group of people back to the sixth floor, and Chen An closed the door again.
"Cameron, will he really be kind enough to help us?" one person wondered.
"Asians here are not even as well off as we are, how could we possibly drive out people from two camps?"
Cameron frowned. "You don't understand. Our boss is definitely not simple. Did you see that woman next to him just now?"
"I saw her, she's so good-looking." One person smiled and licked their lips.
Cameron chuckled. "Don't be fooled by her appearance. Look at these wounds on me." As he spoke, he lifted his shirt to reveal bruises on his stomach and scratches on his neck.
"She almost killed me! I still can't forget the look in her eyes. If she knew kung fu, she could have easily beaten us all to a pulp by herself!"
"Wow! That's amazing!"
They looked at Cameron's wounds and didn't seem to be lying.
"I don't care how powerful he is, as long as he can keep us alive, he's our boss, and we'll obey his every command!"
"Yes! If he can really drive away the hyenas and wolves and hold the camp, we're willing to follow him. He'll be our leader."
"Let's see tonight, maybe our luck is about to change." Cameron had a feeling this was the best decision he had ever made.
Before they knew it, it was five o'clock, the time for Anton and his team to finish get off work. Each of the eight of them received $160, totaling $1280. All three meals a day were provided by the dock and were free of charge.
What social class does someone who earns thousands of dollars a day belong to in America?
Chen An thought of it.
"Boss, we've found the seller."
Hank finally managed to contact a suitable seller.
"Is it reliable?" Chen An asked.
"The seller's name is Black Wolf. He's very reputable on the dark web and there are basically no problems. What kind of firearms do you want to buy?"
Chen An asked, "Do you have machine guns, grenades, or rocket launchers?"
Hank's face stiffened, thinking to himself, "Wow, you really dare to say that. Are all Asians this fierce?"
"Boss, are you trying to rob a bank? These heavy weapons are unlikely to be so easy to get, and they cost anywhere from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars."
"What are some?"
Hank replied, "Pistols, only pistols. They're cheap and easy to sell."
"The Glock series is cheap and practical, with a price of around $500 per gun, not including ammunition."
"Glock19 is the most popular, I recommend this one."
Upon hearing this, Chen An thought to himself how many guns he could buy with his current funds. At $500 a gun plus bullets, he could only buy a maximum of four guns, which was still enough.
So he said, "Okay, tell him to buy four guns plus bullets, and what's the earliest you can get them."
"Wait, let me contact them." Hank started talking to the person on the other end. About three minutes later, Hank turned around again and said, "Boss, they said the transaction would take place at 10 p.m. in an abandoned parking lot in Koreatown."
Chen An nodded, "Okay, I'll agree."
He then picked up the phone and dialed Shen Ling's number. She finally learned her lesson and answered immediately, her voice trembling slightly.
"Hello, who is it?"
"It was me, Chen An. Did Zhou Hao manage to arrange a meeting with Creek?"
Upon hearing this, Shen Ling's expression changed drastically. "I...I haven't said anything yet. Zhou Hao was injured and didn't come to school. I'm trying to contact him."
"Don't give me excuses. You have to arrange to meet him by tomorrow and give me his address," Chen An said in a calm voice.
"Okay, I'll arrange for Zhou Hao to come out."
Seeing this, Chen An hung up the phone.
At this moment, Anton and the others returned to the Graffiti Building. Emily stepped forward and opened the door. The group slowly walked into the living room, and in an instant, the originally spacious living room became crowded.
Seeing this, Chen An knew that he needed to arrange for Anton and the others to stay at Cameron's house. Cameron's house had enough rooms to accommodate so many people.
"Mr. Chen, here is today's pay."
Anton handed over a stack of US dollars.
Chen An reached into his pocket, then looked at Hank, "Hank, we're going out for a bit. You stay and guard the house."
"No problem, boss. I won't open the door for anyone but you."
Immediately afterwards, Chen An led Anton and the other nine out of the room. It was almost 6 o'clock, and Cameron was already waiting outside the door.
Seeing Chen An lead several people out, his pupils contracted, his throat bobbed a few times, and his expression became tense. The sight of eight burly men, each over 1.9 meters tall, standing in front of him was extremely impactful!
"Cameron, is everyone here?" Chen An asked.
"About right, forty-one people in total, ready to obey your orders at any time."
Chen An issued the order: "Cameron, you lead us to the hyena camp. The rest of you split up and slowly approach the camp. Otherwise, fourteen people walking on the street, even at night, will easily attract attention."
Everyone nodded, indicating that there was no problem.
Seeing this, Chen An led Anton and the others out of the Graffiti Building and headed towards the Hyena Camp under Cameron's guidance.
The others waited a moment, then slowly walked out of the building. They took different directions and paths, but all of them approached the hyena camp.
.......
Meanwhile, at the hyena camp, located in an abandoned garage, several wrecked cars and a somewhat dilapidated bread truck were parked inside.
Countless tents were gathered around the vehicles, and some campfires were lit. The bread carts were shaking violently, and some soft moans could be heard.
