Ten miles west of Foshan City, there is a mountain called Qingyun, where a waterfall cascades down from a cliff more than 30 feet high, flowing year-round.

The sound of the water was like thunder, and the roar could be heard for miles around.

Below the waterfall lies a deep pool, its water emerald green and bottomless. The surrounding stone walls have been smoothed like mirrors by the constant flow of water over the years, and the stones are covered with moss, making them even more slippery than ice.

Chen Hongwu took off his shirt, revealing his well-defined muscles.

Broad shoulders, thick back, taut waist and abdomen, his features were sharply defined. His skin had a healthy tan in the sunlight, covered with a dense network of fine scars—gunshot wounds, knife wounds, claw wounds.

But as his inner strength flowed through his arms, back, chest, waist, and legs, those hideous scars, with the daily opening and closing of his pores, began to show dead skin and faded more and more.

The first step in martial arts training is to train your muscles, bones, and skin; this is the hard skill, and you'll inevitably develop calluses on your hands.

Once you've mastered the hidden power, the force of your pores opening and closing is immense, and your sebum regeneration ability is exceptionally strong. Through gradual cultivation, you can shed your old calluses and grow supple new skin.

He walked step by step into the deep pool, where the water reached above his knees, then his waist, and finally his chest.

The further you go down to the bottom of the waterfall, the stronger the water flow becomes.

When you reach the bottom of the waterfall, the water crashes down from above with tremendous force, like a constantly collapsing wall of water.

An ordinary adult standing below would not even be able to stand still; they would be swept away and staggered in just a few breaths.

Chen Hongwu bent his knees slightly and assumed the Three-Body Stance.

His feet sank into the smooth stone surface, his toes gripping the ground, channeling a hidden force into the soles of his feet, making them feel as if they were rooted to the stone. The water flowed over his shoulders, back, and head, splashing everywhere with a loud "whoosh" that made his eardrums ache.

He closed his eyes and began to practice boxing.

Chop, Collapse, Drill, Cannon, Horizontal—the Five Elements Fist unfolds one move after another, the movements as slow as pushing a millstone.

The water slammed down from above, and each punch felt like pushing a wall forward. Using the waist as an axis and the spine as a bow, all the strength of the body was transmitted along a single line to deflect the force of the water and then use that force to strike.

Water has no fixed shape, and a fist has no fixed form. Use softness to overcome hardness, and use what is favorable to defeat what is unfavorable.

The force of the water comes from all directions simultaneously, penetrating everywhere and leaving no room to escape. It's like forging iron, channeling its power into the internal organs, seeping in little by little from the outside in.

After finishing the Five Elements Fist, Chen Hongwu began practicing the Twelve Forms.

Dragon-shaped, tiger-shaped, monkey-shaped, horse-shaped, alligator-shaped, chicken-shaped, hawk-shaped, swallow-shaped, snake-shaped, falcon-shaped, eagle-shaped, bear-shaped.

One move after another, the punches slow and heavy. The water crashed against his body, stirring up a white mist. His fists cleaved through the falling water curtain, the water droplets as if sliced by invisible blades, briefly separating before closing again.

When he throws the snake-shaped punch, the water splashes in a spiral pattern, as if an invisible snake is swimming through the water. When he leaps in the monkey-shaped leap, he bounces up from the bottom of the water, briefly bursting out of the water before falling back to the original spot.

After completing the Twelve Forms, Chen Hongwu emerged from under the waterfall, soaked to the bone and panting heavily.

The force of the water flow is greater than the force of ten punches; each exertion of force is against the weight of the entire waterfall.

This is a confrontation with nature.

He sat down on a rock by the pool and closed his eyes to regulate his breathing.

After about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, his breathing calmed down, and he went back into the waterfall to start again. He repeated this process from dawn till dusk for several days.

On this day, Chen Hongwu had just emerged from under the waterfall, soaked to the bone, water droplets trickling down his muscles. He finished his practice and settled into a pose, his body trembling slightly.

The joints cracked and popped, water droplets splashed everywhere, as if bounced away by an invisible hand. In a moment, most of the watermarks on the body disappeared, the skin became dry, leaving only a thin layer of moisture.

He was bending down to pick up his shirt from the rock when his ears suddenly twitched.

The waterfall roars like thunder; ordinary people can't hear any other sounds here.

However, Chen Hongwu had exceptional hearing; after cultivating his internal energy to the level of his ears, he could detect extremely subtle unusual sounds amidst the noise.

He heard deliberately soft breathing coming from the bushes not far away.

The other person was about 26 or 27 years old, with a slender build and a weight of about 120 or 130 pounds.

Without hesitation, Chen Hongwu stomped his feet on the ground, his body swaying as he silently swept towards the bushes like a leaf blown by the wind. His Bagua Steps were light and swift, covering several meters in a single stride.

While he was still in mid-air, his wrist had already reached out, and he chopped like an axe into the bushes.

"Whoosh!"

The bushes suddenly burst open, and a figure darted out.

The man was in his early twenties, thin, and wearing a gray cloth short jacket. He reacted extremely quickly; instead of retreating in the face of Chen Hongwu's palm strike, he met it head-on.

With arms outstretched, his left hand blocked Chen Hongwu's chopping palm from the outside, while his right hand simultaneously thrust out from the center, aiming straight for Chen Hongwu's chest.

Wing Chun! Spread your hands and punch!

"Spreading hands" deflects the opponent's attack, while "rushing punch" seizes the opportunity to strike. One spreads hands and the other rushes in, combining offense and defense.

This is one of the core techniques of Wing Chun, which emphasizes "retaining the incoming force and sending it away, then striking straight forward with a flick of the wrist."

Chen Hongwu's palm strike was blocked, and the opponent's fist was already at his chest. He twisted his waist and hips, turned his body slightly to the side, and took the punch head-on with his left rib.

"Bang!"

The fist slammed into his left ribs, but it felt like hitting a piece of pig iron; it didn't sink in at all.

Chen Hongwu's inner strength had been activated in both waists, and it was as if a thin layer of iron was wrapped under his skin. If an ordinary person punched him, he wouldn't even feel pain.

But Chen Hongwu did not stop. While his palm strike was blocked, his other hand had already arrived.

Crushing Fist!

Half-step Crushing Fist!

He took a half step forward, twisted his waist and hips, and sprang up his spine, concentrating all his strength into one point, heading straight for the man's chest.

The man's pupils contracted, and he crossed his arms, sealing them in front of his chest—a Wing Chun "Bang Shou" (a specific hand gesture).

With one arm above the other, they form a barrier, using the bones and fascia of the entire forearm to receive the force.

"Bang!"

The punch struck the point where the man's arms crossed, sending him staggering back three steps. His footsteps left three deep marks on the muddy ground, and his arms trembled slightly.

Chen Hongwu gave him no chance to catch his breath.

The fist follows the person, and the person advances with the fist. The chopping fist transforms into a drilling fist, moving upwards, bypassing the opponent's arms, and heading straight for the throat.

The man leaned back and simultaneously thrust out a "questioning hand" with his palm facing forward, blocking Chen Hongwu's punching path.

The Wing Chun technique "Question Hand" uses the palm to block the fist, not to resist with force, but to deflect the opponent's attack by angle.

But Chen Hongwu's drilling fist suddenly changed midway.

Transform your fist into a claw, the power of an eagle claw!

With fingers spread, he bypassed the man's hand and gripped his wrist.

The man tried to break free by flipping his wrist, but Chen Hongwu's fingertips had already gripped his pulse point.

As the hidden force surged forth, his wrist went numb, and his entire arm instantly lost its strength.

Chen Hongwu did not stop; his other hand was already striking with a chopping palm.

He slapped the man in the chest.

I didn't use my full strength; I only used about 30% of my power.

But as three parts of the hidden force penetrated, it felt as if something had suddenly pressed down on the man's chest, making it hard for him to breathe. He staggered backward, fell to the ground with a thud, his face turned pale, and he couldn't get up for a long time.

Chen Hongwu stood before him, looking down at him with a cold expression.

"Which branch of Wing Chun are you from?" His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable sense of authority. "Didn't your master teach you any rules?"

The man sat on the ground, catching his breath before he recovered.

He raised his head and looked at Chen Hongwu with a hint of shame in his eyes: "I am Ip Man, a member of the Wing Chun lineage of Leung Bik. I was just passing by when I heard some noises coming from under the waterfall. I was curious and didn't dare to disturb them, so I hid in the bushes. I had absolutely no intention of peeping."
