Warden of the Beast World: Everyone is a Hakimi

Chapter 94 A black-hearted beast bullies an honest bird

Chi Heng sat in the command tent, legs crossed, munching on the vanilla ice cream he had brought, happily thinking about how he would go back later and ask Xiao Tangtang for a kiss as a reward, when You Lie walked past him, stirring up a gust of wind.

Chi Heng's nose twitched instinctively, then his ice cream scoop stopped in mid-air, and his other hand reflexively covered his nose.

"You stinky, you smelly dog."

The air inside the tent fell silent for a moment. Youming, who had been analyzing the battle situation in front of the sand table, paused upon hearing this, slowly raised his head, and a glint of anticipation flashed in his gray-blue eyes.

Sure enough, Youlie's face darkened several shades instantly. He grabbed Chiheng by the collar, almost pressing his face against Chiheng's. "Little Firebird, do you want to die?" Only Yetang could call him "dog," a privilege reserved for him, and anyone who touched it was doomed.

"But you really stink." Chi Heng didn't struggle as he was being grabbed by the collar, only pointing at You Lie's shoulder with the tip of his wing. You Lie lowered his head and sniffed himself. An indescribable sour stench was emanating from his skin, which even he, a soldier who was used to the smell of sweat and blood from the battlefield, found unbearable.

This is the Spirit Dew detoxifying. Chi Heng drank it himself and smelled so bad that Ye Tang disliked him. He ran to the volcano and took a lava bath for half a day before daring to come back, but he deliberately didn't tell You Lie in advance.

"You—I'm going to take a shower. You stay here and keep watch for me." Youlie loosened Chiheng's collar and turned to walk towards the volcanic hot spring behind the camp.

"Why should I?!" Chi Heng almost choked on his ice cream. He was just here to deliver goods, and after that, he had to go back and stick to Ye Tang. That old gecko wouldn't stop vying for his attention. If he got stuck here, he didn't know how many benefits he would lose.

"I'll go in first." Youlie paused, turned around, and slowly took out his personal terminal. The holographic screen displayed the address book interface, with the contact "Tangtang" listed at the top.

His fingertips hovered above the call button, his grey-blue eyes calmly looking at Chi Heng, a very faint curve at the corner of his mouth, the meaning of which was self-evident.

"Fine, fine. Hurry up and wash, I'll reluctantly keep watch for you." Chi Heng gritted his teeth, sat back down in his chair, and shoved a big spoonful of ice cream into his mouth in a fit of anger.

"Young Clan Chief Chiheng, do you still have any of that?" Youming's gaze shifted from the sand table to the ice cream bucket in Chiheng's hand.

The sweet, rich aroma of milk mixed with the unique sweetness of vanilla was slowly seeping into his nostrils. He had been taking nutritional supplements in the North for so many years without ever feeling any problems, but ever since he tasted a self-heating hot pot in the Ghost Hunter's tent, he had been filled with a desire to explore any food that came from Wild Tang's hands.

"I won't give it to you, this is a gift from my Tangtang." Chiheng hugged the ice cream tub to his chest, his crimson eyes staring warily at Youming. He knew Youlie, his older brother, all too well; he was more cunning than a honeycomb briquette, and it was he who had stolen Youlie's self-heating hot pot.

"I'll buy it." Youming's eyes darted around, and he pulled a crystal card from his military uniform pocket, dangling it between his fingers. His gray-blue eyes were full of sincerity.

He had been envious of Youlie's lavish lifestyle lately, and now that Youlie had finally gone to take a bath, this seemingly dim-witted young chieftain of the Vermilion Bird Clan was the perfect target.

"Give me the money." Chi Heng held out his hand. He had been spoiled by Ye Tang in Zero Prison recently, and although his savings were all with Ye Tang, it was always good to earn some pocket money for Ye Tang to spend.

"Let me taste it first. What if it's not good? Wouldn't I be wasting my money if I bought it?" Youming put away the crystal card, spread his hands, and looked as innocent as the most honest and law-abiding citizen of the empire.

"Have you lost your sense of smell?" Chi Heng frowned. The ice cream smelled so strong that the whole tent could smell it; how could it not taste good?

"Taste and smell are different, don't you think?" Youming smiled. He never needed to think before he lied, especially to a simple-minded brute like this.

"Alright then, have a taste." Chi Heng handed over the ice cream tub. You Ming took the spoon, scooped out a large spoonful, and put it in his mouth. The sweet vanilla and rich cream melted on his tongue, and the cool, silky texture made him squint his eyes in comfort.

Then he scooped out a second spoonful, a third spoonful, a fourth spoonful, one spoonful after another, his movements fluid and fast.

Chi Heng watched helplessly as the ice cream he had been saving to enjoy later was completely empty, even the last bit of cream clinging to the rim of the tub was scraped clean by You Ming with a spoon. You Ming placed the empty tub and spoon on the table, licked his lips, and let out a satisfied sigh.

"Is it tasty? Pay up." Chi Heng held out his hand, palm up.

"Did I say I'd give you money?" Youming elegantly wiped the corner of his mouth with a napkin.

"You said you'd buy it!"

"This is what you gave me to try, a taste test." Youming stood up, straightened his military uniform collar, patted Chiheng on the shoulder, "Bye-bye, young clan leader."

Chi Heng sat blankly in the chair, looking down at the clean, empty ice cream tub on the table, then up at the direction where the tent flap was still swaying. He finally realized what had just happened. "Youming! You heartless bastard! Bullying an honest bird—" His pained voice pierced through the tent and echoed throughout the camp.

When Youlie returned from his bath, he walked into the tent feeling refreshed. His long, silver-gray hair was still dripping wet, and his military jacket was casually draped over his shoulders. He saw Chiheng standing in the center of the tent, his wings puffed up like a ball of fur, his crimson eyes burning with rage. He was so angry that he stomped his feet on the spot, and there was an empty ice cream bucket lying on the floor, completely devoured.

"What's wrong with you?"

"You four-legged, round-haired monsters are all bad! That black-hearted Youming, he tricked me out of my ice cream! He said he'd only try one bite, but he ate it all! He even said it was a sample and wouldn't pay! Do you know how long I've been hiding that tub of ice cream? It was a limited-edition vanilla flavor that Xiaotangtang gave me, and I kept it until now because I couldn't bear to eat it, but that Youming—"

Chi Heng was so angry he could barely speak, his wings flapping so hard the documents inside the tent flew everywhere. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, but he couldn't really go and settle scores with Youming; in terms of cunning, he couldn't even match a fraction of Youming's.

"I'm going home! If I stay any longer, I'll become a sucker!" Chi Heng stomped his foot, his wings suddenly spread out, and he transformed into a streak of crimson light, rushing out of the tent and speeding towards Prison Zero.

Ghost Hunter bent down to pick up the empty ice cream tub from the ground, turned it over to look at the vanilla cream residue at the bottom, then glanced at the direction of the Ghostly Tent outside the curtain, and understood everything. His brother, who was like a honeycomb briquette, didn't even spare children's snacks.
