Warden of the Beast World: Everyone is a Hakimi
Chapter 79 I hate furry male beasts
Qi Xuan ate the meat slices that Ye Tang fed him one after another, his icy blue vertical pupils half-closed in contentment, and the tip of his tail swaying happily from side to side behind him.
I tried everything: honey-glazed chicken legs, charcoal-grilled lamb chops, black pepper beef tenderloin, and chocolate lava cake. My belly was bulging like a frosty white pearl, and I couldn't eat anything more. Only then did I lick my lips with a lingering sense of satisfaction.
"Little Tangtang, shouldn't we take him back now?" Chi Heng had already finished his own meal and was leaning back in his chair with his arms crossed. He had been watching Qi Xuan act cute and affectionate in Ye Tang's arms for the entire mealtime, and his patience had completely worn out.
Upon hearing the words "send her back," Qi Xuan immediately clung tightly to Ye Tang's arm with his four little paws, his icy blue vertical pupils quickly filling with tears. "I don't want to go back, I want my sister." He looked up at Ye Tang pitifully, his little head tilted back, even his little horns drooping.
"Little Qi Xuan, be good. There's no place for you to stay here." Ye Tang tried to reason with him. The observation area is where detainees should stay; this is a prison, not a detention center.
Qi Xuan looked around and his gaze settled on the large water vat in the corner of the courtyard. With a leap from his four little paws, he jumped into the vat with the precision of an ice-blue lightning bolt.
With a splash, he poked half his head out of the water, a mint leaf hanging from somewhere on his tiny dragon horns, no bigger than grains of rice.
He clung to the edge of the tub with his front paws, his tail wagging happily in the water. "Qi Xuan, be good, don't go." His eyes sparkled as he looked at Ye Tang.
Ye Tang was almost vomiting blood from cuteness. This little dragon really knows how to pick a spot. The water in that vat was spiritual spring water that she drew from the ancient well in her space. It was originally for Chi Heng to drink, but now it has become his private swimming pool.
Chi Heng watched as the spiritual spring water he used to brew tea and cook hot pot turned into Qi Xuan's bathwater, and with a roll of his sleeves, he was about to pull the little dragon out of the water tank.
But before his fingers even touched the water, Qi Xuan leaped out of the vat, swiftly climbed up his arm to the top of his head, and precisely grabbed two tufts of crimson hair.
"Let go!" Chi Heng shouted, tilting his head to the side.
"No!" Qi Xuan grabbed on and wouldn't let go. He instinctively hated furry male beasts. The warm and furry touch made his scales all over his body uncomfortable. Just like some humans would instinctively scream when they see a cockroach, his hostility towards furry male beasts was etched into his genes.
"Little Qi Xuan, if you don't behave, you won't get any food," Ye Tang said gently.
Upon hearing Ye Tang speak, Qi Xuan immediately released Chi Heng's hair and lightly leaped off Chi Heng's head, landing steadily in Ye Tang's outstretched palm. He then rubbed his head against her thumb and hooked his tail tip around her wrist.
"Sister, hug me. Don't send Qi Xuan away." Her icy blue vertical pupils were full of ingratiating obedience, a stark contrast to when she was pulling Chi Heng's hair earlier.
"Don't bully your brother, or I won't kick you out." Ye Tang pointed at Chi Heng.
"Okay." Qi Xuan readily agreed, but turned his head and silently bared his small, sharp teeth at Chi Heng.
"Firebird, is your SS-rank fake? You can't even beat a cub?" Ling Shou watched the show from the side, a rare hint of schadenfreude on his lips.
In all the years he'd known Chi Heng, this was the first time he'd seen this firebird, who only knew how to fight and never used its brain, completely subdued by a cub the size of a palm. He then reached out to touch Qi Xuan's head; the cub form of the God of War was a once-in-a-century sight, a rare opportunity indeed.
Without even turning his head, Qi Xuan opened his mouth and bit down. Two rows of fine, sharp teeth precisely bit into Ling Shou's index finger, causing Ling Shou to jump up from the stone bench in pain. "Ouch! Are you a dog?!" he swung his hand in the air.
Qi Xuan released his mouth and pressed his advantage, darting up Ling Shou's arm to the top of his head, grabbing his long silver-gray hair with his two front paws and pulling it outwards.
Ling Shou's hair wasn't as fluffy and easy to grab as Chi Heng's, but the Tianling Falcon Clan's hair was smooth and soft, and Qi Xuan had to tug at it several times before he could grab a tuft.
With a tug, a small tuft of silver-gray hair floated down from the air. Not content with just that, he used his two hind paws to push off Ling Shou's shoulders, leaned his whole body backward, and pulled off another small tuft like pulling up a radish.
"Ugh, you feathered chicken." Qi Xuan tossed the silver-gray hair he had pulled out to the side.
"I—" Ling Shou completely lost his temper. He didn't care about being a war god or an imperial hero; if he didn't get this dragon off his head today, he wouldn't be Ling Shou.
He reached out to grab Qi Xuan, but Qi Xuan flicked its tail and slid behind him. He turned around to grab it, but Qi Xuan's four little paws scurried across his clothes and around to his chest. He conjured wings to shake Qi Xuan off, but Qi Xuan burrowed directly into the feathers at the base of his wings and precisely plucked several feathers.
Chi Heng laughed so hard he almost fell over, tears welling in his eyes. "Flat-feathered chicken! Flat-feathered chicken!"
"Little bean sprout! Are you going to do anything about this?!" Ling Shou was at his wit's end.
"You provoked him yourself," Ye Tang shrugged. It wasn't her bird, so she didn't care. She had Youlie and Chiheng, and that was enough for her. This free-range chicken had to fend for itself. But if Qi Xuan kept plucking it, Ling Shou would really become a bald chicken.
"Alright, little Qi Xuan, if you keep being naughty, I'll really lock you up again," Ye Tang said promptly.
Qi Xuan immediately flew back to Ye Tang's arms from Ling Shou's head, obediently folded his claws and tail, and raised his head to complain: "Flat-feathered chicken, you bullied Qi Xuan."
Ling Shou looked down at the small tuft of silver-gray hair and a few plucked feathers at his feet, his lips twitching violently. In all his years of life, he had never suffered such humiliation.
But Qi Xuan is a war god, an imperial hero; it would be beneath him to argue with a mentally unstable child. Out of respect for him as a senior, I won't stoop to his level.
Chi Heng watched as Ling Shou bent down to pick up the few strands of silver-gray hair that had been plucked from the ground, and surprisingly, he didn't continue to gloat. He reached out and touched his own perfectly intact hair, it seemed that Qi Xuan had been merciful in pulling his hair twice—at least he hadn't actually pulled out a single hair.
Thinking about it this way, the old cucumber painted green by the God of War was actually quite polite to him, probably because he cried out "Little Tangtang, save me!" when he was dragged away yesterday, while Ling Shou, that arrogant jerk, could only cry out "Little Bean Sprout, are you going to do anything about it?"
Ye Tang was quite pleased that Chi Heng took the initiative to clear the dishes. Since the little firebird passed its probation period, its obedience level had increased dramatically.
