Text-based martial arts: A nighttime rendezvous with the gang leader's wife in a dilapidated te

You opened your eyes in confusion; the dilapidated temple before you was still the same dilapidated temple.

The figure that accompanied you for several hours has long since vanished.

[Random encounter complete.]

[You have triggered the serendipitous ending: Fish Leaps Over the Dragon Gate.]

You have gained 1500 potential points.

[Adventure Grade: Earth]

[Other gains: The "Fish Leaps Over the Dragon Gate" technique, increased favorability with the dragon and green fish, and the chance to trigger the "Reunion" adventure.]

[Summary of the serendipitous encounter:]

[When the river breeze rises, I meet you; your words shatter the calluses on my heart.]

Mutual support in hardship is not true happiness; better to live a life of mutual respect and companionship.

Fish in the abyss are unaware of the years, yet a single thought against the current reveals the blue sky.

[Today I present you with a three-foot wave at the Dragon Gate; leap over it and you will enter the human world.]

As Chen Xuan looked at the last words, he couldn't help but feel a little lost.

However, this feeling quickly disappeared.

Instead, he shook his head, somewhat speechless.

"After all that effort, all I got was a Yellow-level martial art? This woman doesn't seem that powerful. But why is the reward for a Yellow-level martial art only a Earth-level fortuitous encounter?"

However, Chen Xuan was not disappointed. Putting everything else aside, he had seen on the forum that the most precious and rare type of martial arts in "Martial Arts" was the mental cultivation method.

In "Martial Arts", mental cultivation methods are different from internal energy cultivation. They cannot be cultivated and trained on their own like internal energy cultivation methods to obtain internal strength or even true qi.

Most of the mental techniques grant players extremely special states and a variety of abilities.

It is even said that some mental techniques, when mastered to perfection, can directly result in a permanent acquired destiny.

Thinking of this, Chen Xuan immediately felt better and hurriedly opened his status list, specifically the previously bare martial arts section.

As expected, the word "nothingness" that was previously present in the framework of that mental cultivation method had disappeared, replaced by the "Fish Leaping Over the Dragon Gate Technique" flashing with green light:

【The Fish Leaps Over the Dragon Gate (Yellow Level)】

[The foundation of a special mental cultivation method created by Long Qingyu, who absorbed the strengths of several schools and integrated the true essence of martial arts. It originates from the image of a fish leaping over the dragon gate, symbolizing swimming upstream. Only after being initiated with the "River Carp Swimming in the Waves Diagram" can one comprehend and cultivate it.]

[Current Level 1: Hidden Abyss (0/1)]

【Features:】

[River Carp Sails: Water Stabilization Technique +2, Reduces Stamina Consumption. Silently reciting the mantra allows for prolonged underwater breathing and mastery of underwater swimming.]

[Hidden Flow in the Abyss: When learning and cultivating any martial arts or abilities related to 'water' and the true essence of martial arts, a fixed +2 point in Comprehension and +2 points in Constitution will be awarded.]

[Fish Leaps Over the Dragon Gate: After defeating an enemy with a higher martial arts level than yourself, you can choose to advance your inner cultivation technique to the second level. The decision to upgrade the technique to the Profound level will be based on the battle situation, the process of the kill, and the opponent's strength. No other methods, including using potential points, can be used for this upgrade.]

"Holy crap!?"

Chen Xuan stared wide-eyed at the shimmering cultivation technique before him.

Before seeing the official website forum, Chen Xuan might have glanced at it and considered it a low-level transitional martial art.

However, after reading through the beginner's guide on the "Martial Arts" forum, Chen Xuan, especially after reading about the martial arts settings, had a fairly good understanding of them!

The preciousness and rarity of this mental cultivation method goes without saying.

For a typical yellow-level cultivation technique, the guides usually mention 1-2 affixes, so that's fine.

The attribute boost of this "Fish Leaps Over the Dragon Gate Technique" is more than usual, which is also within the realm of reason.

But what on earth is this third and last entry for "Fish Leaping Over the Dragon Gate"?

Can the cultivation technique be upgraded?

Isn't this the Burning Technique?

No, according to the rules, the Burning Technique should be considered an internal skill in the martial arts manual.

However, whatever it may be, this entry is undeniably outrageous.

Dragonfish?

Who exactly is this woman?

Chen Xuan snapped out of his daze and reopened the "Martial Arts" forum, activating the site's search function.

However, after searching, no posts appeared for either "Long Qingyu" or "Lu Lianshan" mentioned in the game.

Although he already had some guesses in his mind, Chen Xuan also knew that...

Currently, players haven't explored much of the world of "Martial Arts".

Putting everything else aside, among the so-called Heaven, Earth, and Man lists, only one person, Feng Wuyai, has made it onto the Earth list, and he seems to be at the bottom of the Earth list. It's even uncertain whether he will be pushed down again next month.

All of this is enough to prove that it will be a very, very long time before players can experience all of the game's content.

With this in mind, Chen Xuan perked up again.

He still didn't leave the dilapidated temple, but instead closed the game again.

Sure enough, the moment I closed the game, a faint feeling of fatigue and drowsiness washed over me again.

Chen Xuan subconsciously closed his eyes.

He drifted off to sleep once more.

In his dream, he was in a dilapidated temple in the desolate mountains with a stunningly beautiful young woman dressed in a long blue dress.

Despite being prepared, Chen Xuan was still shocked by Long Qingyu's appearance.

As expected of an extraordinary martial arts world, this built-in beauty filter effect is truly amazing.

The preceding content is exactly the same as the game we just played.

It can be said that apart from Chen Xuan becoming even more determined to become the supreme being of the "Yang Dingtian" even in his dream, it was of no use whatsoever.

The real key point is undoubtedly what comes next.

"Fish in rivers and seas swim in the morning and evening, unaware of the Dragon Gate..."

"..."

At this moment, compared to the martial arts game described in words.

Chen Xuan gained a clearer understanding of what he was experiencing.

He seemed to have truly transformed into a small fish in a river.

While his kind drifted with the tide, he went against the current, constantly honing his abilities in the abyss and trying to leap over wave after wave.

Seeking that leap over the dragon gate, which may never come!

Such struggle, such a sense of moving forward against the current, left Chen Xuan speechless for a long time even after waking from his dream.

Then, as if he had thought of something, he went straight to the bathroom, turned on the tap, watched as the tap filled the sink, and without thinking, took a deep breath and plunged in.

At the same time, the image of the carp swimming in the river, which had appeared in his dream but was now etched into his mind, and the same mental cultivation technique appeared again in his mind!

Instantly, he felt that the pool, which had previously been suffocating, had suddenly become vibrant.

The ever-increasing feeling of suffocation seemed to vanish at that moment.

Instead, there is an extremely moist and refreshing feeling.

five minutes later,

He lifted himself out of the water, and at that moment, the shock in his heart finally overwhelmed him.

"It actually...works..."

In an instant, Chen Xuan clenched his fist, and in the bathroom mirror, his wet face showed an incredibly determined look in his eyes.

However, before Chen Xuan could fully comprehend and understand this seed that was the starting point for martial arts and an extraordinary beginning, he had no chance to do so.

The dormitory door, which had been empty all the time, was suddenly knocked on in the dark.

Chen Xuan wiped his face and quickly opened the dormitory door.

However, it wasn't the dormitory supervisor who arrived.

Instead, it was two figures wearing special uniforms.

A man and a woman; the man looked to be in his thirties, and the woman in her twenties. The former was aloof, while the latter was sweet.

However, the first sentence the other party uttered made Chen Xuan's pupils shrink:

"Hello Chen Xuan, we are from the Martial Arts Bureau of the Dragon Kingdom..."
