The night before the college entrance exam results were released, I redeemed my Peking University ad

The four world-class conferences for verifying conjectures have come to a successful conclusion, but the online buzz is only just beginning to explode.

The trending topics on major platforms were completely dominated by Ji Bai, from his mathematical achievements to his patriotism, from his legendary status in school uniforms to his speech on "The Young China," with one hashtag after another going viral, making him incredibly popular.

On Douyin, related clips are flooding the internet.

The algorithm pushed content like a floodgate had been opened, and almost every ten short videos I watched included two or three videos related to Ji Bai.

There are pure dialogue-driven montages, accompanied by a magnificent traditional Chinese background music, which powerfully cuts the segments from "When the youth are wise, the nation is wise" to "With the nation, there are no boundaries."

A single post garnered over ten million likes in half a day, and its reposts flooded social media and family groups, with even elders unable to resist forwarding it one by one.

There is a montage of on-site reactions, from the somber atmosphere during Academician Zhou's lecture to the awe-inspiring moment after Ji Bai spoke, and finally to thunderous applause.

The contrast is striking, and the comments section is full of people saying they "got goosebumps all over."

There were also compilations of videos from middle and high schools across the country, with students from dozens of classes and hundreds of schools reading along in unison across the screen.

Blue and white school uniforms formed a sea, accompanied by the caption "This is what Chinese teenagers should look like," touching countless people's school memories.

Even the awkward little clip of Ji Bai's ears turning slightly red during the dinner party, where netizens boldly confessed their feelings, was edited out.

The unexpected cuteness gained a large following and became a famous scene that became a popular meme across the internet.

The comments section was as lively as if it were Chinese New Year.

"Well said! That's how a young man should be!"

"I thought it would be a boring academic conference, but it turned out to be so exciting!"

"Goosebumps from beginning to end! This is the spirit and energy that Chinese youth should have!"

"An 'old auntie' born in the 80s said that listening to it made her heart race, as if the energy she had when she was seventeen or eighteen years old had returned."

One second I was on the verge of tears, the next I saw a famous confession scene and burst out laughing!

"Hahaha, even Ji Shen has his awkward moments! Where did his domineering aura go? Why is he blushing after being confessed to!"

"Look at me, beautiful lady! I'm auditioning for Ji Shen! I can act in any genre!"

"I suggest including this in the first lesson of the new school year! It's a million times more impactful than reading it from the textbook!"

"My dad glanced at it as he passed by, and was about to criticize the young man for getting so excited, but he ended up watching the whole thing and said at the end, 'This kid is alright.'"

……

On Weibo, various top influencers collectively voiced their opinions, generating wave after wave of buzz.

The first to strongly support Ji Bai, a popular influencer with over a million followers, @阿政看世界, published a lengthy article of several thousand words, each word brimming with passion:

"I remember when Ji Bai first announced his proof of Goldbach's conjecture, the whole internet mocked him, saying he was just trying to attract attention and that a high school student was overestimating himself."

I wrote an article at the time saying, "Why not give the young people some time?" and I was attacked by many people who accused me of trying to gain attention and taking money.

Today, five century-old challenges in five days, including two Millennium Prize challenges, Ji Bai proved all the doubters wrong with his abilities.

What moved me most was not how many conjectures he proved, nor how high his IQ was.

It was when he stood before scholars from around the world, wearing an ordinary high school uniform, and recited, "When the youth are strong, the nation is strong."

Some might say he's too arrogant, or that he doesn't know how to be tactful.

But I think that Chinese youth should have a bit of that wildness.

If you stand at the top of the world based on your own abilities, why can't you be arrogant?

When the youth are passionate, the nation is passionate; when the youth are strong, the nation is strong!

A tribute to Ji Bai, a tribute to every Chinese youth with light in their eyes.

The long post was shared over 100,000 times and received over a million likes within half an hour. The comments section was full of comments like "You hit the nail on the head" and "I started following you when you supported him. I knew I hadn't made a mistake in choosing you."

Following closely, @TeacherChen'sChineseClass, a verified "Chinese Language Teacher at Beijing No. 4 High School," also posted a long article, instantly resonating with countless parents and teachers:

"During tonight's evening self-study session, the school organized all students to watch the closing ceremony of the conference."

To be honest, at first I was worried that the children would find it boring and wouldn't be able to sit still.

While Academician Zhou was speaking, some children were indeed secretly doing their homework, muttering under their breath, "It's just another lecture from an elder."

But when Ji Bai opened his mouth and said, "In my heart, there is a young China," the classroom gradually fell silent.

When we got to the part about "When the youth are wise, the nation is wise," I saw the usually most mischievous boy sitting up straight, his lips subtly moving in sync with the story.

When it came to the last line, "How beautiful is my young China, as timeless as the heavens; how magnificent are the youth of China, as boundless as the nation," someone started reciting it, and then the whole class, the whole floor, echoed with the sound.

I stood by the podium, and suddenly my eyes welled up with tears.

I've been teaching for over a decade and have spoken countless times about self-reliance, self-confidence, and self-improvement.

But none of them are as powerful as today, when a boy of similar age to them, wearing the same school uniform, stands on the world stage and reads these words aloud.

The best education is never lecturing or preaching.

They are role models, they are light, they are what children can see with their own eyes:

Young man, you can be so dazzling!

Thank you, Ji Bai, for giving all Chinese youth the best lesson!

This blog post was widely shared by countless education bloggers and parent accounts, with many commenting, "I immediately called my child over to watch it together after reading this," and "This is a true national idol."

Subsequently, influential figures from various fields spoke out, offering their highest praise from different perspectives.

Young writer @Jiangwan reposted and commented: "What is most touching is always the frankness and sharpness of youth. They are not slick, not worldly, and do not hide their talents; their talents and integrity are all on display. The name Ji Bai will become a light in the youth of many people."

Renowned tech blogger @IndustrialObserver wrote: "Many people ask, why give such high attention to a young person? The answer is simple: the hope of science lies in the youth, and the future of the country lies in the youth! With such young people leading the way, our scientific research will always have a future."

History blogger @昭明文选 remarked with emotion: "A hundred years ago, someone asked, 'Where is the young China?' A hundred years later, a young person stands at the top of the world and answers, 'Here it is!' This is the best way to pass on the torch."

Young blogger @YouthIllustrated: "People used to say that our generation of young people is a failure, that the post-00s generation is spoiled. But look, it is the teenagers who amaze the world, and it is the teenagers who shoulder the future."

"The young never fail; it's just that some people always see the new world through old eyes."

Articles flooded social media and videos went viral, turning this academic event into a nationwide phenomenon.

If the previous conjectures were only being investigated by the mathematics community and science enthusiasts, most casual observers neither understood nor cared about them.

So this article, "Ode to Young China," directly resonated with all social circles.

Workers, white-collar workers, students, parents, and the elderly—regardless of their understanding of number theory or knowledge of the Millennium Problem—were all touched by the phrase "When the youth are strong, the nation is strong."

"Wow! No wonder he's the top scorer! Not only is he good at math, but his writing is also impeccable!"

"I feel like I missed out on a fortune today... I just saw that clip and it gave me the creeps, so I'm going to watch the whole replay tonight!"

"I only graduated from junior high school, so I don't understand any of these conjectures, but when I heard 'If the youth are strong on Earth, then the nation is strong on Earth,' I got goosebumps."

"I stumbled upon this while scrolling through funny videos, but it made me cry. I'm a grown man, and I haven't felt this emotional in a long time."

"I used to think that national affairs were far removed from my own life, but today I suddenly realized that with young people like these around, how could the future be bad?"

"No wonder schools organize these viewings; they're more effective than ten political education classes."

……

However, just as the entire internet was praising them, the fearless ones arrived!
