Huayu: Starting from managing the Mahua FunAge Theater Troupe

the next day.

October 7th, Sunday.

Around 6 a.m., Shen Feiyang and his group, along with the group from Huanle Media, arrived at Shenyang Taoxian Airport, ready to board the 7:10 a.m. flight back to Beijing.

At 6:50, we checked in and boarded the plane.

The flight took off at 7:10.

At 8:55 a.m., the flight landed at Beijing Capital International Airport.

The two groups parted ways in the arrival hall.

"President Shen, President Yu, Commander Shen, see you tonight."

Dong Zhaohui, Wei Yonggang, Shen Feiyang, Yu Kai, and Shen Teng shook hands.

Huanle Media also held a celebration banquet, mainly for their internal company celebration, and Shen Feiyang and others were invited guests.

See you tonight.

After shaking hands.

Shen Feiyang, Yu Kai, and Shen Teng went to the parking lot to retrieve the Audi A6 they had driven there yesterday.

……

Shen Feiyang was driving, Shen Teng was in the passenger seat, and Yu Kai was in the back seat.

The three headed straight for the Beijing Exhibition Theater.

It's about 30 kilometers away. You can get there in about 30 minutes by taking the airport expressway and the North Second Ring Road.

Yu Kai called Zhu Yao, the administrative assistant who had arrived at the Beijing Exhibition Theater and was handling the work, to ask about the situation there.

According to Zhu Yao, the queue for tickets started at 5 a.m. and now there are already over a thousand people.

Because a plan had been prepared in advance, and police officers were on site to maintain order, no problems have occurred so far.

In addition to the audience queuing to buy tickets, there were also hundreds of reporters present.

Print media, radio stations, television stations, portal websites... all sent reporters to grab the news.

……

Happy Twist will perform nine shows at the Beijing Exhibition Theater, completing the first round of performances of "Crazy Stone" in the Beijing area.

Except for the premiere and final performances, which will have the same ticket prices, the ticket prices for the other seven performances will be significantly reduced. For example, VIP tickets, which started at 880 yuan, will be reduced to 588 yuan, and premium tickets will be reduced to 388 yuan.

The reason why the ticket price for the final performance is the same as that for the opening performance is that after the first round of performances in Beijing, Happy Twist will move to Shanghai to start the first round of performances in Shanghai, which is a rarity.

In theory, the total box office revenue for the first run of shows in the BJ area could reach as high as 865 million.

Happy Twist and Beijing Exhibition Theater signed a 20/80 contract, with Happy Twist receiving 80% of the total box office revenue.

The reason they were able to get this share of the profits is naturally because of the fame that Happy Twist made on "Chinese Comedians" and the fame of their mainstay, Shen Teng.

The contract between Happy Twist and Shanghai Theatre is the same.

Both are 20/80 split.

However, the local performance brokerage company responsible for handling the business also takes 10%.

In addition to the six shows in Shanghai, Happy Twist will also travel to Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Tianjin, Shenyang, Harbin, and Changchun to complete twenty shows of "Crazy Stone".

The performance venues are all large theaters that can accommodate thousands of audience members.

The viewership ratings for "Chinese Comedians" in these regions all exceeded 10%, and the number of Mahua fans who joined the QQ group in these areas ranged from several thousand to tens of thousands, so there should be no problem selling tickets.

This tour is expected to gross over ten million yuan. Including the projected box office in Beijing, the total box office for the first round of the national tour may reach over 2000 million yuan.

As for when to start the second round of the national tour for "Crazy Stone", Shen Feiyang plans to do so after the movie version is released.

The main tasks during this period were to save money and expand the troupe's size and build a talent pool.

In addition, a special performance by the Yunshe Society is also in the works. After Happy Twist leaves the Beijing Exhibition Theater, Yunshe Society will hold five special performances at the Beijing Exhibition Theater to test the waters and prepare for Yunshe Society's national tour a few months later.

……

After half an hour.

Shen Feiyang and his group arrived at the Beijing Exhibition Theater and saw a huge crowd of people queuing up.

Yu Kai didn't have time to reminisce; he went off to handle his work.

Shen Feiyang, Shen Teng, and theater manager Yang Shuozhi chatted casually.

……

October 25th, afternoon.

The Beijing Evening News has been published.

News about "Chinese Comedians" and the latest Happy Twist productions occupied a significant portion of the article.

Main title: "Shen Teng's first performance after winning the championship; over a thousand audience members lined up at the Beijing Exhibition Center in the early hours of the morning to grab tickets."

Subtitle: "Sold Out on First Show! Shen Teng's New Play Earns Over One Million Yuan in Box Office for a Single Show"

This report was published.

Happy Twist can be said to have completely made a name for itself in the Beijing arts and culture scene.

Currently, only Chen Peisi's Dadao Culture is a stage play performance group that can achieve a single performance box office of over one million yuan.

It took Chen Peisi three years to achieve what she did. However, Happy Twist only took six months to reach the same industry status as Dadao Culture.

The stage comedy market suddenly became very popular.

Many companies that produce TV dramas and movies have taken notice.

For example, Huayi Brothers, Wang Zhonglei and Wang Zhongjun were considering whether they could sell the stage adaptation rights of "A World Without Thieves".

Although the movie hasn't been released yet, Feng Xiaogang's Lunar New Year films have always been box office guarantees. Monetizing the derivative rights while the film is still popular is a sure-fire way to make money.

Without further ado, Wang Zhongjun instructed Wang Zhonglei to approach Zhao Benfu, buy the stage adaptation rights to "A World Without Thieves," and then resell it to an interested production company to make a profit.

……

at the same time.

Evening newspapers in many parts of the country published reports on the results of last night's "Chinese Comedians" finale.

Shen Teng's popularity was further solidified.

……

The next few days.

Yu Kai instructed the Publicity Department to contact the media and publish recruitment notices for Happy Twist actors online and in local BJ print media.

No educational background or background required.

As long as you have comedic talent,

As long as you feel that standing on stage can make people laugh.

As long as you have a burden in your mind that others haven't thought of—

Welcome to submit your resume...

Happy Twist just won the championship on the national variety show "Chinese Comedians", and its fame is unprecedented. As soon as the recruitment information was published, it immediately attracted the attention of many people.

……

Guanghua Chang'an Building, Tower 2, 15th floor.

This is Sohu's office space.

An intern at Sohu Music Channel was doing the same tedious job of copying and pasting news articles, as usual.

His name is Dong Chengpeng. He just graduated from Jilin Institute of Architecture and Engineering this year and became a "Beijing drifter".

Dong Chengpeng came to Beijing to pursue his dream of becoming a singer, but the record industry was in a slump at the time, so he had no choice but to become an intern at Sohu Music Channel in order to survive.

After finishing the copy-paste job, Dong Chengpeng casually refreshed the Sohu portal and happened to see the actor recruitment posting by Happy Twist.

Happy Twist?

Dong Chengpeng watched every episode of "Chinese Comedians" without missing a single one.

After reading the job posting, Dong Chengpeng's heartstrings were suddenly plucked.

Why don't you give it a try?

Working at Sohu is still too far removed from the entertainment and music industries.

What if I could join Happy Twist and be groomed to be the next Shen Teng?

After thinking it over, Dong Chengpeng decided to try submitting his resume.

……

the other side.

In an internet cafe in Harbin.

A slightly chubby young man who looked to be around twenty years old was drinking a cola while browsing various news portals and reading about actor gossip.

He was thinking that he would be going to the Central Academy of Drama in September to study acting, and if he knew nothing about the gossip in the entertainment industry, would he not get along well with his classmates?

While I was browsing, I saw an actor recruitment ad for Happy Twist.

Happy Twist?!

Qiao Shan shuddered, put down the glass bottle of cola, and carefully read the contents.

This summer, after watching "Chinese Comedians," Qiao Shan found his idol and career aspirations: he wants to become a comedian like Shen Teng.

After noting down how to submit his resume, Qiao Shan immediately got off the plane and got to work.

……

the other side.

Chang Yuan, a successor of the Chang family of crosstalk performers who worked odd jobs at the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Art Troupe, saw a job posting for Happy Twist in the Beijing News.

When Chang Yuan was six years old, he appeared on the Spring Festival Gala. After that, he smoothly entered the system and got a stable job.

However, because of his experience of being publicly criticized by his grandfather Chang Baohua for his poor crosstalk skills in his early years, Chang Yuan has always been afraid of performing crosstalk on stage, so he prefers to do odd jobs.

After reading the job posting, Chang Yuan had an idea.

He took out his phone and called his grandfather's close friend, Shi Shengjie.

Shi Shengjie is Guo Gang's substitute mentor. Guo Gang's boss is Shen Feiyang, who in turn is the boss of Happy Twist.

With this connection, Chang Yuan felt that he didn't need to go through the conventional resume submission channels at all.
