Mystery: When the Lost Homelanders Meet the Lost Homeland Call

Chapter 9 I gradually understood everything

A strong sense of alarm surged from his soul, and Old Neil felt the Dark Symbol hidden in his clothes grow cold, futilely pulling at his reason as if trying to pull a drowning person to the surface.

But that was meaningless. He had already seen it. As the "person" in front of him spoke of "the lost home," the human form gradually faded away, and the chaotic void beneath it was revealing its existence to him.

That void is smiling.

Close your eyes! Turn off your spiritual vision! Close your eyes! Turn your head!

Old Neil's reason was unable to drive his muscles to complete even the simplest of movements.

He saw a pale, hollow mass writhing wildly, with countless stars reflected repeatedly in its depths, and eerie green flames coiling around it, barely maintaining the hollow outline of a human.

In that instant, a terrifying suction force came from the void—no, not a suction force, but a feeling as if the whole world was being reorganized. Old Neil felt countless things were measuring everything through the void, ceaselessly calculating the position of all things.

Then a deafening roar erupted in Old Neil's mind, and then the whole world fell silent.

Lynn looked curiously at the old man who had suddenly fallen silent. He had just wanted to pretend to be an ordinary transmigrator like Klein, a pitiful person who was lost and couldn't find his home, and then simplify the person who lost his homeland into a homeless person. Why did the other person suddenly fall silent?

Lynn stepped forward, looked into old Neil's cloudy eyes, and then saw himself reflected in them.

In the next instant, Lynn saw his reflection in his eyeballs suddenly change.

The "human" dressed in sailor clothes collapsed as quickly as an unstable elephant. Every color that made up the image faded and dissipated in the blink of an eye. In the fading of color, a pale and faint light emerged!

The radiance replaced the rapidly dissipating figure, maintaining a blurry, distorted human outline for the first second, before seemingly overflowing from around it.

Lynn watched as the radiance surged up and overflowed from his eyes, spreading towards him!

Is the light coming toward me, or am I going toward the light?

Lynn couldn't tell the difference.

He only saw endless radiance transform into a passage that swallowed him up. The passage stretched endlessly, infinitely long in front and infinitely far behind.

The roar echoed in the tunnel; it was a series of overlapping explosions, a "tremor" produced when a massive amount of information was compressed into a single moment.

In that fleeting, eternal moment—perhaps only a Planck's time—Lynn felt as if he were being torn apart. His consciousness sank and floated in the roar, struggling to find the sounds superimposed on the roar. He felt as if he was about to understand the meaning of those sounds, while many fragmented pieces rushed into his mind, resounding loudly in his reason.

Within that information, Lynn was gradually coming to understand everything, while the endless end was rapidly approaching him.

But at that moment, Lynn raised his hand and stopped approaching the end.

The roar abruptly ceased, the pale passage stopped rotating, and flames, a mixture of eerie green and deep purple starlight, rose from Lynn's body, seeping into the passage before bursting into a magnificent blaze.

I will figure everything out.

I will be with people from every world.

"We will all survive, and no one will be the one to pay the price."

The flames burned fiercely, like fireworks from a hometown, and the pale passage disappeared in the flames, revealing the reality behind it.

Lynn raised his hand, which was wreathed in eerie green flames, and covered old Neil's eyes.

After a deafening roar, the whole world fell silent.

Old Neil felt his consciousness drifting away, as if it had completely detached from his body. He didn't know where he was, what year it was, or even for a moment—or perhaps during a long period of time—he completely forgot his own name.

He floated mindlessly in a chaotic void, surrounded by turbulent currents of light and shadow beyond human comprehension and deathly silence.

Until a faint green light appeared, countless roars and ear-piercing noises that seemed to tear the earth apart finally exploded. In this vast and silent chaos, there was something he could perceive again. His mind was almost shattered by the noise, but just before complete annihilation, the ball of fire gathered from all directions, enveloping all his senses.

This flame reshaped his mind, giving him the ability to think again.

It took Old Neil a very long time to reassemble his fragmented thoughts.

He remembered that his name was Neil, and he lived in Tingen City in the Kingdom of Rune. He was a night watchman. Today, he was going to the underground trading market in the dock area to buy some materials. He had heard in the bar that a powerful person had come to Tingen City.

He also planned to report this information to Captain Dunn and to pray to the goddess of night for revelation.

However, it seems unnecessary now.

That powerful figure has come knocking.
