Full-Time Mage: One random forbidden spell per month

Chapter 20: A Commander-level Essence Isn't Worth Ten Million?

Apartment in the city center.

This building is full of apartments, and Li Xingze's rented apartment is on the sixth floor.

These past few days, Li Xingze has been cultivating lightning-based techniques.

Although it is only at the first level of the initial stage, after being strengthened by the forbidden spell of the blessing system, and with the 2.5 times amplification of the spirit seed, it has a 5 times magic amplification.

With a five-fold magical amplification, even a level one lightning seal is no less powerful than a level three lightning seal.

As for why he didn't cultivate the summoning system, it was naturally because Li Xingze didn't yet possess the Nebula Magic Artifact.

With a spirit-grade stardust artifact, cultivating lightning magic at the initial stage is most effective.

Speaking of which, Mo Fan's little mudskipper is really awesome; it can be used from the beginner level all the way up to the forbidden spell.

Even the companion vessel of Baxia doesn't have this function, so it's fair to say that the Azure Dragon is a sacred totem.

"We still need to get a Nebula Magic Artifact."

There are also some resources required for summoning. As one of the most expensive magic-based classes, summoning requires more than just money to buy contracted beasts.

Raising summoned beasts and contracted beasts requires money, and it's not a small amount.

Of course, you can also choose to use only summoning magic energy to cultivate, but this will obviously be much slower.

The Golden Flame Dragon Lion and the Abyss Dragon have extremely high bloodlines, and it is definitely not enough to cultivate them with magic energy alone.

There are no bottlenecks for the Golden Flame Dragon Lion up to the Commander level, but breaking through still requires a lot of energy. If this energy does not rely on beast souls, beast blood, etc., it can only rely on the accumulation of resources in ordinary times.

Needless to say, the Abyss Dragon can most likely grow all the way to the Emperor level, which requires an immeasurable amount of energy to feed it.

Many summoners choose to specialize in the summoning system, such as Jiang Yu, the chief disciple of the palace, because the summoning system is too expensive.

Of course, it's worth it, as a monarch-level contracted beast is comparable to several super-level mages.

Without hesitation, Li Xingze packed his things and headed out.

After a quick search on his phone, Li Xingze found the nearest auction house, which was only ten kilometers away and could be reached by taxi.

"Zhao's Auction House"

Li Xingze looked at the large characters on the plaque and his lips twitched slightly.

Is it really such a coincidence?

But on second thought, it's not really a coincidence.

The Zhao Family Chamber of Commerce controls most of the auction houses in Shanghai; you could find one that belongs to the Zhao family anywhere.

As Li Xingze entered the hall, a sweet-looking young lady walked towards him.

"Is this gentleman attending the auction? Do you have an invitation?"

Her voice was charming and pleasant, and coupled with her professional smile and tight-fitting clothes, Li Xingze couldn't help but take a second look.

Fortunately, Li Xingze had witnessed the extraordinary talents of Mu Ningxue and Xin Xia, so his composure was quite good; anyone else might have been caught off guard and attacked.

"An invitation?"

Li Xingze frowned. This Shanghai is indeed a big city; you need an invitation to attend an auction.

It seems the only option is to offer up the essence first and see if they'll accept it.

Li Xingze looked at the woman in the tight-fitting clothes and said calmly, "I have something to auction. I wonder if your auction house still accepts such items?"

"Oh, sir, you're here to auction something." The receptionist exclaimed slightly in surprise, then bowed slightly and said, "I'm sorry, I can't make that decision. Auction items require a specialist appraiser."

Please wait a moment.

A few minutes later, the hostess led a middle-aged man out.

This person must be the appraiser.

The middle-aged auctioneer frowned upon seeing that Li Xingze was too young, and his tone became slightly impatient:

What are you auctioning?

Li Xingze raised an eyebrow and said directly, "Spiritual essence."

"Spiritual essence?"

The appraiser looked at Li Xingze with surprise, not expecting this kid to have such good luck.

It should be a servant-level spirit, worth around four or five million.

"I'm sorry, sir, our auction house does not accept items valued at less than ten million. If you are in a hurry to sell now, I can make the decision to buy it at market price."

The appraiser's tone softened considerably, but it wasn't much better.

Ultimately, he was just an appraiser, so Li Xingze didn't choose to argue with him. He said calmly, "I wonder if a Commander-level essence is worth ten million?"

"A Commander-level spirit essence?!" The appraiser looked at the young man in surprise, but quickly shook his head repeatedly. "I was just following the rules. Young friend, you've gone too far with this joke."

A Commander-level spirit essence! Even hunter groups with master hunters have a hard time collecting just one Commander-level spirit essence.

Commander-level spirits are extremely rare; how could an eighteen or nineteen-year-old possibly possess one?

Li Xingze didn't say much, but simply showed the container holding the medicinal essence.

The appraiser examined it and confirmed that it was indeed a commander-level essence!

In an instant, the appraiser's gaze towards Li Xingze changed; the mage behind this young man was no ordinary person.

Even if he's not from a prestigious family, he's definitely not an ordinary person!

This Commander-level spirit essence is of good quality, worth at least 400 million. (Note: The original novel mentions that high-quality spirit essences are worth around 500 million.)

Although it was quite valuable, the appraiser didn't dare to even consider cheating, knowing that this young man had at least a high-level mage behind him.

Only a high-level mage would give the essence to a junior for auction, and that mage must not be an ordinary high-level mage.

"Young master, please forgive me if I have offended you in any way."

After a pause, the appraiser continued, "The handling fee for this item will be waived as compensation to the young master."

Li Xingze readily accepted; even a one percent handling fee would amount to several million!

Seeing that Li Xingze showed no resentment whatsoever, the appraiser breathed a sigh of relief and then took out a card.

"This is a VIP card for Zhao's Auction House. You can enjoy a 2% discount on anything purchased from Zhao's Trading Company."

"The appraiser must be someone important to be able to produce something like this."

Li Xingze gladly accepted the VIP card, as he needed to buy some things anyway, and he figured he might as well save a little money.

Although they can easily purchase spirit seeds and magical artifacts with their current financial resources, they are still not enough to compete with natural soul seeds and some rare magical artifacts.

As for the armor and magical artifacts, Li Xingze doesn't have any ideas yet.

As a summoner, he possesses two powerful weapons, the Golden Flame Dragon Lion and the Abyss Dragon, so he doesn't usually need to personally take to the field.

"If the young master wishes to participate in the auction, he can enter directly with this card," the appraiser added.

Thank you.

After consigning the spirit for auction, Li Xingze walked directly into the exclusive passage leading to the auction.

Seeing the young man's back, the appraiser lowered his head, his eyes flickering, seemingly deep in thought. After giving the receptionist a few instructions, he walked off in another direction.

He couldn't possibly guess which faction a young person from the entire city could produce a commander-level spirit essence.
