Chapter 119 The Struggle with Giants

The giant's lair is located in a cave halfway up the mountain. As you approach the entrance, a snoring sound comes from deep within, heavy and slow, like a huge beast sleeping.

"I'll go find a shooting spot on higher ground," Floren said in a low voice, then climbed up the rock face like a nimble lynx.

Ron and Harma moved quietly and slowly into the cave. The temperature inside was lower than outside, but the interior was more spacious than they had imagined.

The ground was piled with all sorts of debris: broken planks, broken masts, and anchor chains half-buried in the debris, as if someone had dumped the entire wreckage of the ship in and then stepped on it.

Deep inside the cave, a huge figure leaned against the stone wall, its body a size larger than Ron's, at least three meters tall. Its gray-blue skin was covered with something that looked like an ice shell, and its chest rose and fell with its breath, each exhale blowing up small wisps of white mist.

"Halma, let me out! I'm here!"

Suddenly, a hushed shout came from the side. Ron turned his head and saw a man wearing Skellige armor locked in a rough wooden cage, with thick iron chains wrapped around the outside of the cage.

Halma frowned, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "That's the rogue Vige. I think we'd better leave him alone for now and release him after we've dealt with the giants, otherwise he'll definitely cause trouble."

"Halma, you bastard!" Viggi cursed under his breath inside the cage. "You're definitely planning to hog all the glory of hunting giants!"

Ron's gaze swept between the cage and the giant. "Let's rescue him. More people will do."

"Ron, look, there must be a key on the register next to the giant," Halma pointed to a spot not far away.

"No need for that trouble."

Ron drew his two-handed greatsword, walked to the wooden cage, and slashed down fiercely.

clang!

Sparks flew from the iron chains as they crashed to the ground with a deafening crash. The enormous impact echoed through the cave, and the ice giant suddenly opened its eyes, letting out a deafening roar.

"Haha! We'll kill this damn giant!" Vigi crawled out of the cage, drew his longsword, and charged forward with Halma, yelling.

The giant stood up, its massive body blocking out much of the light. It swung its thick arms, sending a dull gust of wind rushing toward Viggie. Viggie tumbled over, crashing to the ground and rolling twice before coming to a stop.

Halma charged from the side, raising his longsword above his head, letting out a short, angry roar, and slashing a long gash across the giant's arm.

The excruciating pain enraged the giant, who swung his massive fist at Halma. Taking advantage of Halma's moment of dodge, the giant turned and walked toward a pile of junk nearby, pulling out a huge, rusty anchor.

The giant raised the anchor above his head and slammed it down.

boom!

The ground trembled, and rubble fell from the cave ceiling.

Ron’s eyes lit up with a long-lost excitement. He hadn’t encountered an enemy who could rival him in size and strength for a long time. Since his strength attribute broke through to level 2, he had never gone all out. This battle had successfully piqued his interest.

He raised the greatsword with one hand, flipped his wrist, and the blade drew an arc in the air, the resulting wind pressure blowing away the snow on both sides.

The giant sensed the threat acutely and turned its head sharply. Before it could even raise its anchor, Ron's greatsword slammed down from above, whistling heavily as it struck the giant's chest. The gray-blue ice shell shattered and flew everywhere beneath the sword.

The giant was completely enraged. He swung his massive anchor, sending it hurtling down on Ron with a whooshing sound.

Clang! Clang!

Ron did not retreat. His greatsword collided head-on with the anchor. The clang of metal against metal was accompanied by a shower of sparks. For the final blow, both of them began to charge up their power almost simultaneously.

Bang! !

The deafening impact caused the ice pillars on the cave ceiling to shatter. Ron and the giant both took a step back, their greatsword and anchor flying backward due to the immense force. Both looked at each other with astonishment in their eyes.

The giant seemed unable to accept that the other side possessed strength comparable to its own. It threw away the deformed anchor and roared at Ron.

boom!

The giant's massive body, like an iceberg, charged toward Ron, intending to crush the human himself.

Ron's eyes gleamed with a fighting fervor as he slammed his greatsword into the ground and charged headlong into the giant.

Beside them, Vigi and Halma had stopped what they were doing, staring in disbelief as the two enormous figures collided head-on.

boom!

It was like two mountains colliding head-on; the ground trembled, and dust filled the surrounding area.

Ron and the giant held each other firmly, entering a state of pure strength struggle. The mountain rocks shattered beneath their feet, and spiderweb-like cracks spread in all directions. The two let out low roars at the same time, neither willing to give an inch!

The two sides remained locked in a stalemate for a few breaths.

Ron suddenly stepped back, gripping the giant's arms tightly with both hands, and using the giant's forward momentum, turned around and exerted force downwards.

The giant was lifted off the ground! His massive, heavy body tumbled through the air before being slammed back to the ground by Ron.

boom!

Shattered rocks flew in all directions, and the sound of breaking bones echoed through the cave along with the giant's mournful howl.

Ron looked at the giant struggling on the ground, raised his right foot, and stomped hard on its head with all his weight.

boom!

The ground was shattered by the blow, but the giant's survival instincts made it roll desperately, thus avoiding the fatal attack.

It scrambled to where it had dropped the anchor, a cunning smile creeping across its ugly face. It grabbed the anchor, ready to smash it down on Ron, whose hands were empty.

Suddenly, its movements froze.

A blood-stained sword tip protruded from its heart, blood gushing down the blade. Halma had somehow gotten behind it, gripping the hilt tightly with both hands and desperately twisting the blade forward.

Ron pulled the greatsword from the ground, turned around, walked towards the giant, and swung it down with both hands.

The giant's head separated from its body, and the gray-blue head rolled twice on the ground before its pupils slowly dilated.

"Halmar, thanks," Ron said, wiping the blood off his sword. "I didn't expect this guy to be so cunning."

"Ha ha! Ron, we've killed the giant!" Harma roared excitedly. "I promise you, your name will be sung by poets! You can start with a resounding title: Ron Who Wrestled with the Giant!" How about that? This is an incredible honor!

"I don't mind," Ron sheathed his greatsword and looked to the side. "How's Viggie?"

Vigi rubbed his ribs and stood up, grumbling, "I'm fine! I just wasn't in time to react, and Halma killed the Titan first, damn it!"

Halma laughed as he walked towards Viggie, slapping him hard on the back. "Viggie, you bastard, I'm fucking happy to see you alive!"

"Ha, I'm the fearless Viggie, I'm not that easy to die!" Viggie grinned, rubbing his back.

Floren jumped down from the height, put away his longbow, and walked over with a hint of helplessness on his face.

"You promised to cover for you, but you got tangled up with that thing, and I couldn't aim at you at all."

Halma put his arm around Floren's shoulder. "Haha, Floren, don't worry about it. Your name won't be left out of the poem. Anyway, we successfully killed the giant, and that's the most important thing!"
