Chapter 117 The Lord of Udvik

With his quiver on his back, Floren followed the others out of the cave, and Ron and the others walked south along the camp.

Udvik Island is surrounded by continuous snow-capped mountains and glaciers. The fjords in the distance are shrouded in thick fog, and sharp black reefs can be vaguely seen piercing the sea surface. The hillsides are covered with low shrubs, and occasionally a few cedar trees can be seen leaning in the sea breeze.

Floren walked beside Ron, but his gaze couldn't help drifting towards Titus and Cassius. Finally, unable to resist, he leaned closer to Titus and asked, "Are you two archers too? This bow looks very heavy."

Titus looked ahead and replied casually, "Yes, this is called the Woodland Longbow, and it's Fiona's weapon."

Floren stroked his chin. "Fiona? Is that the name of your unit?"

Titus did not answer him. The group turned off the narrow path in the canyon and the road ahead opened up. A huge wooden longship, at least a hundred meters long, came into view.

The ship was supported by thick wooden supports, more than a person's height off the ground, hanging there like a stranded behemoth. Around the mast, dozens of figures were circling, larger than the female sea monsters they had encountered before. They seemed to have noticed the crowd below.

Floren's expression changed drastically, and he abruptly drew his arrow. "It's Hekna, a monster even more ferocious than a siren! Be careful!"

Ron glanced up at the monster circling overhead, his eyes hardening. "Ready to fire!"

The regular army's formation changed in a few breaths, with two soldiers in each group, spearmen and shieldmen cooperating with archers to disperse to advantageous positions, and crossbows aimed at the monster in mid-air.

Titus and Cassius exchanged a glance, then simultaneously took down their longbows, nocked an arrow, and drew the string, the woodland longbow string emitting a dull pop.

Boom!

Almost simultaneously, two arrows shot into the sky with a whistling sound as they tore through the air, piercing the monster's chest with pinpoint accuracy. The immense impact propelled their bodies several feet higher, and Hekna tumbled and crashed to the ground, splattering blood everywhere.

Floren's bow hand froze, staring blankly at the two Fionas.

The arrows were fired in rapid succession with almost no gaps. The intervals between each draw of the bow were so short that the movements were not visible. Every arrow pierced the target with precision, and not one missed.

Hekna kept flipping and diving in the air to dodge, but no matter what she did, she couldn't escape. The two of them suppressed dozens of monsters so much that they couldn't even get close.

Laymen might not understand, but Floren was an archer, and he knew very well what unimaginable archery skills this was, a miracle that probably only heroes in mythology could achieve!

"Am I fucking dreaming??" Floren muttered to himself, nearly dropping the bow in his hand.

The battle ended quickly. The last few Hekna tried to fly higher, but were shot by Titus and Cassius from both sides at the same time, and tumbled and fell near the ship.

Ron walked over and patted Floren on the shoulder hard. "Wake up! What are you daydreaming about?"

Follen snapped out of his daze, raised his hand, and slapped himself across the face. *Smack!*

He then covered his swollen cheek and gasped, "Ouch! Am I dreaming?!"

Titus and Cassius put away their longbows, and their lips twitched slightly.

Just then, a sound came from the direction of the ship, indistinct and unclear, like humming something. Ron and Floren exchanged a glance, and the two climbed up the wooden ladder on the outside.

The interior of the cabin appears larger than the exterior, with thick planks and several square windows.

A bearded man sat in the cabin, surrounded by several skulls, seemingly engrossed in talking to them.

"What are you doing here?" Ron frowned.

The man continued fiddling with the bones in his hands. "Look, brothers, two more have come. I've told you countless times."

He turned to look at the skull beside him, his expression becoming serious.

"What did you just say? Wilfred? Well, you're right, they just don't learn their lesson. At least they got to hear me sing before they died."

The man stood up, dusted himself off, and looked at Ron and Floren.

Floren leaned close to Ron's ear and whispered, "This man has gone mad. We saw him when we came here."

Ron ignored Floren and continued staring at him. "Who are you talking to?"

"My crew, they swore to follow me forever, and they kept their word." The man pointed to the skull on the ground. "The tall one is Wilma, the one to his right is Wilfred, and the one who stutters is Wilhelm."

Ron was silent for a moment. "Why are you staying here?"

The man seemed to have been stung by something, but quickly regained his numb expression.

"Because we can't escape. If we try to escape again, the giants will kill us all, just like they did with everyone else."

"Why didn't the Titan kill you?"

He shrugged at the skulls around him. "My crew, the siren, and I were building a longship for him. I was in charge of sewing the sails. Sometimes I would run away, but the siren would fly out and bring me back."

"Were those sea siren kept by giants? What would he need a ship for?"

The man's gaze suddenly tightened. He looked at Ron and lowered his voice.

"Please don't tell anyone, okay? I trust my people won't leak secrets, but you..."

"Okay, I promise I won't tell anyone," Ron said in a low voice.

"In the final battle before the end of the world, the Battle of Renalug, the giants will pilot this ship to defeat the gods," the man said mysteriously, a strange smile appearing on his face.

Floren paused for a moment, then explained, "This is a prophecy circulating in the archipelago. It roughly means that there will be many signs before the start of the final era, such as a wolf devouring the sun and the moon experiencing a lunar eclipse."

Then the final battle of Renalug unfolds, with the appearance of a longship called the Nagilfa, its hull constructed from the claws of the dead, carrying an army of wraiths and demons. A hero named Hamdal will cross the Rainbow Bridge to stop the invasion of the dark forces. When he joins the war, he will sound a horn, calling upon the Skellige to take up arms in the final battle. This battle will determine whether the world is shrouded in darkness or dawn breaks.

After Florence finished speaking, he stared at the man for a long time, as if trying to identify something.

"You are... Lord Harold Holznot of Udvik? Aren't you dead?"

Harold chuckled coldly. "What, do you think I and my men look like dead men? Everyone thinks I'm dead...maybe that's better."

Ron sized up the man and remained silent for a moment. "I see, Harold. You can leave with us after we find Halma."

Harold laughed as if he had heard a joke. "Hahaha... You talk as if you're sure you can find it. Why don't you just flick your finger and kill the giants too? They're all the same, thinking they'll never die, huh?"

He turned to look at the skull beside him. "Wilheim, you're right, aren't you?"

Ron wasn't angry; instead, a smile appeared on his lips.

"Oh? How about we make a bet? If you lose, then come with me. Don't you not want to go back to Skellige? Well, that just so happens that my mercenary group is lacking a master like you."

Harold scoffed, "Come on, if you could really kill a Titan, I'd be your craftsman for life."

Ron nodded seriously and extended his right hand. "Hmm, it's a deal."
