Chapter 46 Brother Yuzuru, what do you think?

"Inspector Megure, we've found something over here!"

Just then, the forensic team’s shouts came from the direction of the sofa, breaking the brief silence in the living room.

Inspector Megure walked over quickly.

The crowd followed, their eyes fixed on the forensic personnel's hands.

This is an earring, silver in color, with a small blue gemstone dangling from it, which was picked out of a gap under the sofa with tweezers.

Detective Takagi took the evidence bag and held it up to the light to examine it carefully.

"This earring..."

Yoko Okino leaned closer, stared at the contents of the bag for a couple of seconds, and then said, "This is for Yuko-san."

"Miss Yuko?" Inspector Megure turned his head.

"Yuko Ikezawa debuted around the same time as me," Yoko Okino said hesitantly. "This style is one she often wears..."

Yamagishi Ei, standing nearby, nodded in agreement, crossing his arms and saying, "Could it be that Ikezawa Yuko, out of jealousy that Yoko stole the lead role that was rightfully hers, held a grudge, killed someone, and then framed Yoko?"

"That's exactly right!"

Kogoro Mouri crossed his arms and raised his chin slightly.

"Now the truth is out! The culprit must be this Yuko Ikezawa! Go and bring her here!"

"Aha..."

Inspector Megure chuckled, his face crinkling into a deep wrinkle.

"Just bring her back to the station as a key figure... no... let's just have her come directly here..."

"Then let's get moving!"

Kogoro Mouri waved his hand.

Several police officers immediately rushed out of the room.

Kogoro Mouri turned around and gave everyone a serious once-over.

"The culprit is definitely Yuko Ikezawa."

Yuzuru stood still, his hands in his pockets, his face revealing no particular emotion.

The gross profit exclusion method is in effect again.

The people Uncle Mori confidently points out almost always end up being unrelated to the murderer.

Of course, it can't be said that they are completely unrelated. Yuko Ikezawa does have problems, but the nature of her problems is probably not quite the same as what Kogoro Mouri imagined.

Sonoko Suzuki leaned over from the side and lowered her voice.

"Is the culprit actually Ms. Yuko?"

Yuzuru shook his head and remained silent.

Sonoko Suzuki didn't press the matter further. Having spent so much time with Toru Hanyu, she had figured out the pattern.

Do not disturb him when he is silent or deep in thought, because it won't be long before Yuzuru finds the culprit, just like last time.

Not long after, there was a noise at the door.

Two police officers brought in a woman.

Yuko Ikezawa.

She is a little over 1.7 meters tall, with long brown hair almost identical to Yoko Okino's, wearing a neatly tailored black dress and stiletto heels.

With refined features and a commanding presence, she entered the room with her chin slightly raised, scanning the room with no sign of fear.

Yuzuru glanced at her.

The woman's overall appearance is very similar to that of Yoko Okino.

"Ms. Yuko Ikezawa, the reason we invited you here is because this murder case is related to you," Kogoro Mouri said first.

"Stop joking around." Yuko Ikezawa's voice was cold, with obvious impatience.

"If the murder happened in Yoko's house, shouldn't we suspect Yoko? Besides, this is my first time here. No matter how you look at it, this has nothing to do with me, right?"

"If that's the case, then why is this thing here?"

Kogoro Mouri took out the evidence bag containing the earring and held it out to the other party.

Yuko Ikezawa looked down and was slightly taken aback.

"Isn't this my earring? Why is it here?"

Stop pretending!

Kogoro Mouri took a step forward.

"I just had the police question the community management, and their review of the surveillance footage revealed that you've been here several times in the past few days!"

"It's also possible that they just look alike."

Yuko Ikezawa remained completely calm and even smiled.

"If you didn't look at our faces, you probably wouldn't be able to tell me apart from Yoko Okino at first glance, right?"

"That's just sophistry!"

"Heh...excuse me, could you please use the restroom?"

Yuko Ikezawa completely ignored him, bypassing Kogoro Mouri and heading straight for the corner of the corridor.

"Wait a minute! I haven't finished asking my question yet!" Kogoro Mouri shouted from behind.

"Why are you so annoying!" Yuko Ikezawa didn't stop walking, but her voice rose a notch. "Just because of an earring, you're treating me like a criminal?! Please, I'm very busy!"

Kogoro Mouri was speechless.

A moment later, Yuko Ikezawa came out of the restroom, walked to the coffee table, bent down and took out a small Statue of Liberty from the bottom drawer.

She turned the gears on the base, and a small orange flame ignited at the top of the torch. She lit the cigarette in her mouth with a fluid motion, ignoring the crowd who began to puff away.

"What a unique lighter!"

Conan appeared in front of Yuko Ikezawa at some point, tilting his head back with bright, sparkling eyes.

"Sister, even though you've never been here before, you know exactly where the lighter is!"

The living room fell silent for a moment.

All eyes turned to Yuko Ikezawa.

"That's right, how do you know so much?" Inspector Megure narrowed his eyes.

"My friend has the same lighter," Yuko Ikezawa explained, exhaling a puff of smoke.

"Where are you from, friend?"

"Um...yes..."

"Um, Yoko-neechan, where's the restroom?" Conan suddenly turned to Yoko Okino and asked.

"It's around the corner in the corridor..." Yoko Okino answered instinctively.

Kogoro Mouri's eyes lit up instantly.

"By the way, this is your first time here, so why do you know the location of the restrooms so well?! That means, Ms. Ikezawa Yuko, you're the culprit!"

He pointed.

"It turns out that, in revenge for Ms. Yoko taking your leading role, you killed that man right here in this room!"

"That's true. Even though it's your first time here, you seem very familiar with the layout." Inspector Megure nodded and stared at her.

"Do you have anything else to explain?"

Kogoro Mouri pointed at Yuko Ikezawa and asked loudly.

"No...that's not how it is!"

Faced with Inspector Megure and Kogoro Mouri's questioning, Yuko Ikezawa almost dropped her cigarette and took two steps back.

"I didn't kill him! That man suddenly attacked me, and I was just fighting back!"

"So you really did come to Yoko's house, right?!" Kogoro Mouri pressed closer.

"I have indeed been here a few times..." Yuko Ikezawa bit her lip. "I used the key I stole from the lounge... I wanted to find out about Yoko's scandal. But unexpectedly, the last time I entered the room, a man followed me in and tackled me. I fought desperately and barely managed to escape the room, losing my earring in the process."

"Hmph! Maybe it's because you were discovered breaking into Miss Yoko's room, so you killed him while you were at it!"

"I've already said it, I didn't kill anyone!"

At that moment, the forensic team rushed over.

"Inspector Megure, the deceased's identity and the recent examination have been confirmed."

Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to it.

"The victim's name was Fujie Akiyoshi, 22 years old. After graduating from Gangnan High School, he worked at Jiaohong Commercial. The water sample taken for testing only contained the victim's DNA."

"Gangnan High School..."

Kogoro Mouri muttered the name over and over, something flashing through his mind. He suddenly turned to look at Yoko Okino.

"I remember Ms. Yoko's alma mater was also Gangnan High School, right? Could it be that the deceased and Ms. Yoko knew each other?"

"That must be a coincidence. Isn't it, Yoko?" Yamagishi Sakae spoke first, his speech a beat faster than usual.

Yoko Okino lowered her head and remained silent for several seconds.

The air in the living room gradually solidified.

"That person..."

Her voice was very soft, but everyone could hear it clearly.

I actually know that person.

She looked up, her eyes already red.

"It's not just that we know each other. That person... was actually my boyfriend from high school."

"What?!"

Kogoro Mouri froze on the spot.

"Yoko? You..." Yamagishi Sakae's expression changed several times, and his lips moved a few times.

"Mr. Yamagishi, I'm very sorry, but I really can't hide this from you..." Yoko Okino bowed slightly to everyone.

"Could it be that you wanted to end this relationship, so you killed the victim?" Inspector Megure asked in a deep voice.

"No...no," Yoko Okino shook her head. "It was Fujie who initiated the breakup."

Mumu was stunned for a moment, his brain taking two seconds to process what was happening.

The person who is dumped... usually doesn't have a motive to kill.

He shifted his gaze to the young man in the corner who hadn't spoken until now, and couldn't help but speak up.

"Um... Brother Yuzuru, what do you think?"
