America: I'm causing trouble for environmental organizations
Chapter 81: I can't seem to get it right no matter how I copy it?
Chapter 81: I can't seem to get it right no matter how I copy it?
Downtown Detroit.
Inside the meeting room of the BlackRock Environmental Justice Foundation North America Special Fund in Detroit, three men and two women were having a meeting.
Among them was Trist, the association's secretary general who sponsored Bann with 40.
At this moment, he was staring at the "blonde man" sitting opposite him with a grim expression.
As mentioned before, there were two people in charge of coordinating the donation of NG0 from Detroit. One was Twisted Fate, and the other was this blond man named "Evan".
The two candidates competed for the position of "Regional Director of the Midwest Region" at BlackRock's North American Special Fund, using Detroit as their testing ground and shorting Detroit as their test question.
Of course, the current situation is that Twisted Fate's chances of winning are slim.
Because the foundation didn't even allocate a budget for him to operate, the $40 given to Bane was something he forcibly applied for.
His behavior greatly displeased Evan.
In Evan's opinion, why is Twisted Fate meddling in things that are perfectly fine? What business is it of yours?
But Tristana's ultimate goal was simply to make Evan unhappy. In his view, whether he could rise to power was irrelevant; as long as Evan didn't get the position, that was enough.
With this mindset, Trist was initially in a very good mood to attend the meeting.
Just now, Sophia called him and told him in detail about meeting Conrad today and Conrad's plagiarism of ideas.
Good guy.
After hearing this, Drizzt's previously beautiful mood instantly soured.
What a great plan, how could it be copied?
This shameless Evan across from me has a history of plagiarizing my work. Who would have thought the association he donated to would be just as bad!
What angered him even more was...
Right at this very moment, Evan is in the conference room, boasting about this plagiarized plan.
As I listened...
Trist couldn't listen to it anymore.
He interrupted Evan, who was speaking eloquently, with a grim expression, and said sarcastically, "Evan, was this plan for the girl with lead poisoning something your association came up with?"
The sudden question startled Evan, who then frowned and asked, "What do you mean?"
"As far as I know, this plan was proposed by a man named Ben Cole. The Conrad you're talking about is a fraudster who plagiarizes other people's ideas."
"Who is Bane Cole?" the man in the head seat interjected.
"I've heard of that name before. Isn't he the new executive director of the Great Lakes Environmental Justice Association?" Evan blurted out.
After answering the question, he looked around at everyone present and mocked, "Everyone, did you understand? Drizzt is saying that this plan was come up with by the association he sponsors."
Upon hearing this, some of the people present couldn't help but laugh.
Evan laughed the loudest, saying, "This is ridiculous, Drizzt. I think your investment acumen is even worse than that of a child with lead poisoning."
I heard that Bane Cole looks like a movie star. Has your sexual orientation changed? Or is it that your Ukrainian adopted daughter has taken a liking to that guy?
"I'm just stating a fact: you and your association both enjoy plagiarism and copying," Trist replied calmly.
He knew perfectly well that his actions were absurd, but he wanted to make people remember the phrase "Evan likes to plagiarize" through this seemingly childish behavior.
Now that Evan is in power, nobody cares about these kinds of comments.
But if Evan loses power, then "plagiarism" will become one of his original sins.
And one's own "naive behavior" will be seen as "sharp insight, having already discovered Evan's problem."
Of course, Evan was no pushover either; he keenly sensed that Drizzt might cause him trouble.
So he went straight to the man in the head seat and began to protest: "I demand that Drizzt withdraw from this meeting. I don't think he's fit to continue listening to our implementation plan."
Because he might maliciously sabotage my work for some ulterior motive.
"Do you think everyone is as morally corrupt as you?" Trist continued to attack Evan's character.
But the man sitting in the main seat felt that Evan's words made sense. He said to Tristana, "You can go out now. If Evan needs your help with anything, I will let you know."
"You know I always follow orders." Drizzt then got up and left.
Such obedient behavior surprised everyone present; they had all thought that Drizzt would argue back.
Little did they know, Drizzt was cultivating an image of integrity and uprightness for himself.
After leaving the meeting room, Drizzt didn't linger but went straight to the association, intending to have a good talk with Bane.
However, as soon as he arrived at the association, he heard news that he could not understand.
"You mean, Clarissa is leaving the association?" Drizzt asked, utterly astonished, as he sat on the sofa in his office.
Sofia was equally surprised as she entered carrying a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
She thought to herself: Weren't the three of you chatting in the office just an hour ago?
Why did you just leave like that?
Is there some secret plan?
As Sofia bent down to hand the coffee to Trist, she glanced at Bane, who was sitting diagonally across from her.
What exactly is he planning?
Why am I secretly looking forward to it?
Bane, of course, had no idea what Sophia was thinking. He simply explained to Trist, half-jokingly, "Clarissa is unwilling to participate in the operation to strike Ford."
After all, her status is different now; she's an environmental celebrity. The appearance fee you're offering isn't enough for her to cheer you on and support you.
"That's quite a unique reason. She's not going to side with Ford, is she?" Trist also probed, half-jokingly.
"Does it matter? You've prepared such a grand show of force, are you saying that the final outcome will depend on which side Clarissa stands on? If she's really that important, your job would be much simpler."
"Haha, you're right." Trist laughed thoughtfully.
Laughing, he quickly changed the subject: "I heard that the Michigan Green Association plagiarized your idea?"
"That's true."
"What are you planning to do? Are you just going to let them use your idea to gain credit?"
"So you're saying you don't want them to get credit?" Bane retorted.
"This credit should go to us, not to that guy who got a budget of 180 million but didn't even have any original ideas, don't you agree?"
Upon hearing this, Bane blinked.
He realized that Drizzt was trying to sabotage Conrad and his group's plans.
How can this be allowed?
Conrad and his team have to succeed.
If they don't succeed, how will they play games like "Detroit: Medicine Goddess" and "The Most Beautiful Smuggler"?
Although I have the [Push Stream Card] which allows me to fight on both sides, I naturally want to save every single one of these item cards I can.
Thinking of this, Bane said to Trist in a serious tone, "Some things can't be forced. I just told Sophia that this is a protracted battle."
"Let Conrad and his team investigate Ford's situation. We shouldn't worry about short-term gains or losses; let your foundation and Ford have a few rounds of maneuvering before we take action."
"Are you sure?" Trist instinctively didn't believe Bane's words; he didn't think Bane was such an easy person to talk to.
"certainly."
"So we're just going to wait like this?"
"Yes, just wait like this." Bane nodded again.
the next day----
Twisted Fate reappeared in the office, immediately asking, "Are we waiting?"
"Of course, we have to give them some time to prepare," Bane nodded.
Day 3 —
Twisted Fate: "Still waiting?"
Bane: "Wait a little longer."
Day 4 —
Tristana didn't bother asking any more questions.
Bane couldn't hold back any longer and started cursing.
It's been four days!
I spent four days watching major newspapers, local newspapers, and online platforms.
There wasn't a single news report about the girl with lead poisoning.
"Wait, what on earth did those bastards do?"
"No matter how I copy it, I can't understand it, it's been so long!"
"Where's the noise?!"
