The Witcher: Grinding Experience Starting as a Wolf School Witcher
Chapter 43 In the Name of the Witcher
Night fell, and the wind whistled.
The surrounding pine trees rustled softly and melodiously, their branches creaking.
Beside the Ring of Elements, Vesemir's grey hair swayed in the wind, and inside his silver-studded gloves were five wolf-head-shaped badges, which he placed one by one on the platform.
He then took out a thin black rope from his pocket. Despite his large fingers, his hands were very nimble. He quickly threaded the rope through the small hole on top of the badge, tied it into a knot, and put it away neatly.
He stepped back a few paces, his gaze sweeping over the magnificent, rolling Blue Mountains before him, and raised his right hand to cast the Igni sign.
The bonfires placed in the four corners were lit one after another.
A cold wind suddenly rose, and the orange-red flames flickered, casting a crooked shadow of Vesemir.
Vesemir stepped back to the group. "Alright, the Elemental Ring is activated. We just need to wait a moment for the badge to fully charge."
"How are you feeling?"
Horton laughed, "Fantastic, Master Vesemir."
He exchanged glances with Paul and Winston, both unable to hide their excitement.
Aiken, whose upper body was wrapped in bandages, had green cat eyes that were also sparkling.
"Heh..." Vesemir chuckled, then silently shook his head. "Arwin, you should have a feeling about this."
Alwin squinted. Indeed, he sensed a powerful energy fluctuation sweeping in from all directions.
The stone pier that held the bonfire was engraved with four different patterns.
They are: water, earth, air, and fire.
"It's chaotic energy."
Vesemir nodded. "That's right. Magic is everywhere in this world, but it's more abundant in some places and less so in others."
"And the Elemental Ring is one of the most powerful convergence points of magic."
"When your magical energy is depleted and you are unable to meditate, you can seek out a point of convergence to replenish it."
Everyone seemed thoughtful. Arwin rubbed his palms together and asked, "Master Vesemir, how do we find this intersection?"
"Yeah, how are we supposed to find it? We have absolutely no clue." Paul and the others also looked puzzled.
Vesemir glanced at Eskar, who was leaning against the wall. Eskar coughed and said, "The simplest way is to use the badge. If the badge vibrates rapidly, it proves that there is powerful magic in the vicinity. Of course, it could also be a powerful monster or magic."
"However, there is a little trick: check if there are any cats around. Cats are very sensitive to intersections; they often lie down to sleep or wander around there."
Alwin was surprised, as this was something he didn't know much about, but it was very helpful for his dual cultivation.
"Are there any other animals that could pinpoint the meeting point?"
“Yes,” Vesemir’s cat-like eyes narrowed, a mocking sneer playing on his lips, “but I hope you don’t run into them. Besides cats, dragons are the ones most sensitive to the intersection.”
Alwin and the others took a breath.
Dragons? They're beings from legends and tales.
"Buzzing..."
On the platform of the Elemental Ring, the five wolf head badges began to tremble violently, emitting a constant buzzing sound, just like the ones on Vesemir and Eskar's chests.
Vesemir looked up, clapped his hands, and said, "Boys, get ready, the final ceremony is about to begin."
The five members of Arwen stood solemnly, and even Eskar stood up straight with a serious expression.
Vesemir picked up the five wolf head badges, paused slightly, and a flash of reminiscence crossed his cat-like eyes.
He then turned his back and gestured to the crowd.
The five men, including Arwen, knelt on one knee and bowed their heads, much like knights about to be awarded ranks.
This tradition is said to have been left by Arzur, the founder of the Witcher who revered chivalry.
Vesemir's spiked boots slammed heavily on the marble steps, making a crisp, rhythmic clatter.
He first walked over to Paul, gently hung the badge around his neck, and spoke in a serious and low voice.
"From this day forward, you will be a lone hunter, wandering alone in the wilderness and mountains."
Next up is Winston: "This badge is not a reward, but a warning, a warning to the world that you will remain neutral and not belong to either side."
Next was Horton, "From this day forward, you will carry the silver sword. You must remember and strictly adhere to the Witcher's code of conduct."
Then there's Aiken, "Your cat-like eyes may be frightening, but when you wield your silver sword, it's not to justify fear, but to protect humanity, to protect the innocent who are about to perish at the hands of monsters."
Finally, Vesemir came to Arwen.
"When those ignorant villagers attack you with stones, you must learn to protect yourself."
"When those lords delay paying their dues and send their henchmen and drunkards to stab you, you must understand that the steel sword in your hand is their only fate."
A large hand patted Alwin's shoulder, and the latter's gaze was fixed on the wolf head badge on his chest, his constantly throbbing scarlet eyes fixed on him.
Vesemir walked to the front of the five people and spoke loudly.
"According to the Witcher's Code, you have successfully passed the final mountain trial and are hereby awarded the Witcher's Badge."
"Raise your heads, all of you, in the name of the Witcher."
Alwin slowly raised his head, revealing gray vertical pupils reflecting orange-red flames beneath his black bangs.
The system panel has also quietly changed.

……
"I passed! After two years, I succeeded!"
Alwin's chest heaved slightly, his heart pounding with emotion.
The other four could not hide their excitement, and Paul even breathed a sigh of relief, feeling as if he had survived a disaster.
A gentle glint flashed in Vesemir's amber cat-like eyes. "I am proud of what you have accomplished today."
"But after the ceremony, there is another procedure, which can be regarded as a reward for your journey. You can meditate and absorb energy while the elemental ring is still activated."
"Remember, this time will only last until dawn. It's a rare opportunity, so make the most of it and savor it."
Upon hearing this, all five closed their eyes, changed from kneeling on one knee to sitting on their knees, and entered a meditative state.
Within the sea of consciousness, wisps of blue fluctuations emerged, representing the water element.
Immediately, fiery red, heavy earthy yellow, and light and transparent star-like particles of gas element appeared one after another. Although they were only a few scattered points, they were all things he had never sensed before.
"It's the remaining fire, earth, and air elements!"
Alvin was overjoyed and immediately calmed his mind, activating [Basic Meditation] to begin absorbing the nutrients.

……
As the moon set and the sun rose, the wolf head badge that had been vibrating incessantly on the chest of the leather jacket gradually subsided.
Alwin exhaled a long breath of white mist and slowly opened his eyes.
The sound of the wind rustling through the grass and the leaves swaying was clearly audible.
He took another deep breath, a look of ecstasy appearing in his cat-like eyes.
This was a feeling I had never experienced before; I felt so refreshed.
