Sanctuary Starfield Journey

98-38 Caught in Crisis

Then there's the young Inva, a lonely soul born in famine who, after barely surviving, also wishes to join the Imperial Capital.

In the Eastern Dream Realm, I dreamt of ascending to the heavens, and this "person," too, was crushed into tiny, eerie dreams by the clock tower as the deep dream realm crumbled, drifting back to the Rainbow End.

The rainbow's edge is shrouded in the shadow of war, the sun long unseen, devoid of any color—why not a gray rainbow? The cliff's gray snow obscures both, how can it possibly lean towards the blue sky? Peaks intertwine into fire, shattering families, a deep, eerie dream, the gray plains swaying with ambition.

Yingju City is in ruins, the flames have died down, only broken walls remain, silent cries of despair echo, blood drips in the night, and she teeters on the brink of collapse in her dreams. She hides away, unable to face reality, yet she remains true to her original aspirations, persisting in her research on the snow rabbit, amidst countless traps.

Huo Min's front line was cut off, leaving him to guard the front alone. Dongfang Gui fought on all fronts, never forgetting or defying him in the slightest. The old man waving the red flag danced in the back row, tirelessly day and night.

Change, intertwining, falling, transformation, turmoil, the winds of change subside, the masculine forces cease to expand, the fate is sealed, the final verdict is announced.

……

"Qingyan, where are we? Could it be... inside the Great Rift?"

Ti Suyi's voice came, seemingly from beyond the world. Qingyan finally opened his eyes and saw a scene he had never imagined—this place wasn't empty; instead, it contained countless clods of soil, the most basic element, spreading out into an endless plain. This meant that life could be nurtured; at least it wasn't a certainty, there was always a possibility of survival.

Qingyan spoke up, "Probably? But it's not quite what I imagined." The people sitting in the back also looked over.

Dongfang Qiming couldn't sit still any longer. He stood up, ready to rush out. Qingyan immediately stopped him, saying, "We don't know the situation outside yet. We can't go out without permission. What if we run out of oxygen?" Dongfang Qiming replied, "At worst, I'll just die. If it's really dangerous outside, you'll know after I'm gone, right? You know we don't have enough food this time, and we might not survive long." Hearing this, Qingyan also made up her mind, "Then let's go out together. I have my Pure Dream, which can protect us." Dongfang Qiming smiled slightly, "It's not like you're the only one with spiritual power."

The two were enveloped in a white dream as they walked out. Ti Suyi peeked out from behind, but Nuo Xuwen gently pushed her back. Ti Suyi turned back and playfully bared her teeth, trying to scare him: "Try touching my head again!" Hua Jianying said, "Alright, Xiao Yi, he's doing this for your own good." Ti Suyi buried her head in Hua Jianying's lap, "Oh, I don't care." Hua Jianying stroked the head of the youngest girl in the group, reaching into his pocket with his left hand: "Alright, here's a tea cake for you. Look outside." Ti Suyi sat up abruptly, took the tea cake, and popped it into her mouth. Looking outside, now free from the daydream, but with two people still there, her features instantly contorted in shock. Hua Jianying asked upon seeing this, "What's wrong? What's wrong with them?" Di Suyi glared back at her fiercely, "What is this? It tastes awful! Are you trying to ruin my life?" Liu Ruyan, who was nearby, laughed, "Haha, Yingzi, I'm not trying to be mean, but I knew your cooking wouldn't suit young people's tastes!" Hua Jianying feigned criticism, "You just don't understand. White tea is good for the spleen and stomach, it cuts through the greasiness, and it can even help you sleep… In short, it has countless benefits." Di Suyi crossed her arms, "Hmph, isn't this just for old people? I'm not old." Hua Jianying slowly said, "You'll understand when you get older." Luo Min watched the playful group from the sidelines.

The space inside the colossal rift continued to expand outwards, finally ceasing to be an endless expanse of soil. The Luo Min organization built its first city—Huo Min—where the "Original Seven" would live peacefully.

Tisuyi longed to go outside every day, so she often appeared at the edge of the giant rift, patrolling for any new locations that might suddenly appear. However, she was always caught and brought back by Qingyan, with the same reason every time: "It's dangerous here, don't go near, be good." No matter how unwilling Tisuyi was, she would become a black kitten being picked up and then thrown into a corner outside Huomin City as punishment.

However, Qingyan was unwilling to continue living a wretched life here. Everyone dies eventually, depending on the value they create. So, under the cover of night, he carved words on the wall and left Huo Min, heading into the unknown depths of the land.

The next morning, Ti Suyi woke up and searched for the missing Qingyan. Then, at the place where she was often punished to stand, she saw the words carved on it: "Wait for me, I'll be back soon."

She waited. Dongfang Qiming went out to survey a new region, but tragically fell and disappeared. From then on, Tisuyi developed the habit of guarding the edge. Hua Jianying aged and died, and Tisuyi began planting white tea. Liu Ruyan remained a widow, eventually dying in childbirth, but she had given birth to a son for Dongfang Qiming. The winds of longing, crossing the endless soil, landed at Qingyan's feet.

Qingyan continued to climb the white mountain using the white dream. Vines also grew along the mountainside. Feeling slightly tired, Qingyan used the vines to weave a foothold to support himself on this journey that seemed to be reaching for the rising sun.

Qingyan finally reached the top of White Mountain. Everything before him was dazzlingly bright; the cycle of the sun and moon within the enormous rift was right before his eyes, almost within reach. Behind him, meteorites continued to fall, constantly creating new coordinates.

Finally, on a stone altar, Qingyan saw what he had longed for: the key to the exit, symbolizing hope—the Max Ravine. He also discovered that the energy emanating from the Max Ravine seemed to be something he had never encountered before, something destiny led him to believe was unique to this rift.

"Just wait, once we get out, we'll reveal this trip."
