After the fourth episode of "Goblin" aired, Chae Soo-bin's manager, Choi Min-soo, received seven phone calls.

All seven phone calls were inquiries about Cai Xiubin's schedule. There were offers for dramas, movies, dating shows, and a variety show. Cui Minxiu compiled this information into a spreadsheet and sent it to Su Yu's email. Su Yu reviewed it at the company and then called Cai Xiubin into his office.

Cai Xiubin wasn't filming that day. She was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants, her hair casually tied up, looking like a college student. She sat down opposite Su Yu, and when she saw the form on the table, she paused for a moment.

"What is this?"

"Find your script and GG."

Cai Xiubin picked it up and flipped through it, faster and faster. "So many?"

"Seven. A few more are still under negotiation."

Cai Xiubin put down the form and looked at Su Yu. "Which one do you think I should accept?"

Su Yu leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers lightly on the table twice. "It's not my opinion. It's which role you want to play after you've read the script."

"You help me choose."

"I won't help."

Cai Xiubin pouted. "You always picked them out for me before."

"Before, you didn't know what you wanted. Now you should know."

Cai Xiubin fell silent. She lowered her head, her finger slowly tracing the form, looking at each item one by one. The first was a TV series, a romantic comedy, the female lead being a cheerful coffee shop owner. The second was a movie, an independent film, the female lead being a mother searching for her missing daughter. The third was also a TV series, a suspense drama, the second female lead, with limited screen time. Following that were several other items: cosmetics, beverages, and clothing.

She looked at it for a long time, then put the form down and looked up.

I want to act in movies.

Su Yu looked at her. "Which one?"

"The first one," Cai Xiubin pointed to the romantic comedy, "but I don't want this one. I want something different."

Su Yu didn't speak.

"This mother role is too early for me, I can't play it." Cai Xiubin expressed her thoughts, "I'm still young, the audience has just gotten to know me, if I suddenly play a mother, they will be taken out of the story."

"So what kind of role do you want to play?"

Cai Xiubin thought for a moment. "I want to play a role that... helps me grow. Not the kind of character who only knows how to date, nor the kind who pretends to be mature. Just something that someone my age should be playing."

Su Yu was silent for a few seconds, then took a script from the drawer and pushed it over.

"Take a look at this."

Cai Xiubin picked it up; the cover read "The Seaside Cafe." She flipped through it, slower and slower, stopping on the tenth page.

"Where did you get this script?"

"It was sent to me by an independent director. He had been making short films for three years, and this was his first feature film. He spent two years writing the script and revised it more than a dozen times."

Cai Xiubin continued watching. The female lead's name was Zheng Yaying, twenty-four years old, who ran a small coffee shop by the sea in Busan. After her father passed away, she ran the shop alone, making coffee, watching the sea, and daydreaming every day. It wasn't until a customer from Seoul entered her life that she began to confront what she had been avoiding. It wasn't a passionate, dramatic love, but a slow, healing kind of love, like waves that come and go.

"This character..." Chae Soo-bin looked up, "is like me."

Su Yu looked at her. "How is it similar?"

"She's also waiting for someone. Not for love, but for an answer."

Su Yu didn't speak.

Cai Xiubin closed the script and hugged it to her chest. "I want to act in this."

"Have you thought it through?"

"I've made up my mind."

Su Yu nodded. "Okay. Let Cui Minxiu handle the talks."

Cai Xiubin hesitated for a moment. "But this movie needs to be filmed in Busan. Two months."

Su Yu looked at her. "So?"

"So I'll be away for two months." Cai Xiubin's voice softened. "Will you miss me?"

Su Yu didn't speak. He took a key from the drawer—not the key to the new house, but another one. One that Cai Xiubin had never seen before.

"What is this?"

"An apartment in Busan. I had someone rent it for me. It's a ten-minute walk from where you're filming."

Cai Xiubin stood there, stunned. She looked at the key, then at Su Yu, her eyes slowly reddening.

When did you rent it?

"Yesterday, Choi Min-soo said you might take on that movie, so I rented it first."

Cai Xiubin took the keys and clutched them in his hand. "You, you say nothing, but do everything."

Su Yu looked at her. "You go film. I'll come over this weekend."

"You come every week?"

"weekly."

Cai Xiubin stood up, walked around the table, and hugged him. She buried her face in his neck and mumbled something. Su Yu didn't hear her clearly and asked, "What did you say?" She looked up, her eyes red, and smiled.

"I'm telling you, you're not getting away from me in this lifetime."

Su Yu put his arm around her waist. "I won't run away."

News of Chae Soo-bin taking on the independent film spread quickly. Kim Dong-wook released a press release stating, "Chae Soo-bin will star in the film 'The Seaside Cafe,' taking on the challenge of a healing-type female lead." Comments below the news included, "She's perfect for this kind of role," and "Looking forward to Chae Soo-bin's acting."

Kim Go-eun saw the news and messaged Chae Soo-bin: "Soo-bin, this role suits you so well." Chae Soo-bin replied with a smiley face. Kim Go-eun then said, "Filming by the sea is so romantic. Will CEO Su visit the set?" Chae Soo-bin replied, "She comes every week." Kim Go-eun sent an envious emoji.

Sulli also saw the news in Japan and sent a message to Chae Soobin: "Soobin, congratulations." Sulli was a few months older than Chae Soobin, and calling her by her name with an "ah" was a sign of older sisterly affection. Chae Soobin replied, "Thank you, unnie." A tacit understanding had already formed between them—a polite, distant, but mutually respectful understanding.

That day, Park Ji-yeon was practicing piano at the company when she saw Chae Soo-bin coming out of Su Yu's office with red eyes. She went over and asked her what was wrong. Chae Soo-bin said, "It's nothing, I got a movie role." Park Ji-yeon smiled. "Why are you crying? You should be happy to get a movie role."

"I cried because I was happy."

Park Ji-yeon looked at her but didn't expose her. She knew that Chae Soo-bin wasn't crying because she was happy, but because she was going to be away from Su Yu for two months. But she didn't say anything, she just patted Chae Soo-bin on the shoulder. "Good luck. Is that movie being filmed in Busan? That's my hometown."

"real?"

"Mmm. Busan seafood is delicious, please eat as much as you like."

Cai Xiubin smiled. "Okay."

The day before Cai Xiubin left for Busan, Su Yu treated her to a meal at her home. Cai Xiubin cooked kimchi soup, fried fish, and stir-fried mixed vegetables, all of which were Su Yu's favorite dishes.

The two sat down, and Cai Xiubin served him some food, saying, "Eat more." Su Yu ate a few bites and then put down his chopsticks.

"Cai Xiubin".

"Um."

Are you nervous?

Cai Xiubin was taken aback. "This is the first time you've called me by my full name."

Su Yu didn't reply.

Cai Xiubin put down her chopsticks and thought for a moment. "A little. This character is completely different from Ahn Go-eun. Ahn Go-eun was being pushed along, while Jung Ah-young hides herself away. I don't know how to portray that feeling of hiding."

Su Yu looked at her. "You're not pretending to be hiding. You're pretending to be a person who doesn't want to be discovered, but hopes someone can find her."

Cai Xiubin stared at him for a few seconds, then laughed. "You're better at directing than I am as a director."

Su Yu picked up her chopsticks and continued eating.

After dinner, Cai Xiubin went to wash the dishes. Su Yu stood behind her, her chin resting on her shoulder. The water was running, and neither of them spoke.

"Su Yu".

"Um."

"Are you really coming this weekend?"

"real."

"You promise?"

"ensure."

Cai Xiubin turned off the water, dried her hands, and turned to face him. She looked up at him, gazing into his eyes.

"Then I'll wait for you in Busan."

Su Yu lowered his head and kissed her forehead.
