The necromancer of the Pokémon world

Chapter 15 Ancient Tombs and Skeleton Warriors

Lin Ye used necromancy on the giant pumpkin spirit, employing a basic spell specifically designed to heal undead creatures to restore it.

This move shocked and surprised the giant pumpkin spirit, and its attitude towards Lin Ye became much more amiable.

Afterwards, Lin Ye explained the situation of the Pumpkin Spirit Clan. He was relieved to learn that his brothers and sisters were unharmed and that the biggest threat, the Rotten Wood Demon, had been rendered unable to fight for a long time by Lin Ye.

Upon hearing Lin Ye inquire about the surrounding situation, the giant pumpkin pondered for a moment before slowly recounting:

"The area we are in is the outermost part of the entire Mt. Sacred, and most of the Pokémon that are active there are not very strong."

There are only three who can truly be called regional overlords, those whom all ghosts avoid...

The Pumpkin Spirit revealed that the three so-called regional overlords were the three "professional" Ghost Pokémon that Lin had seen before.

But what he was most interested in at the moment was the resources that could be obtained in this area, so he directly inquired about such information.

Upon hearing this, the latter gave a wry smile and said, "Alas, this place shrouded in ghostly mist is indeed more likely to nurture things like 'ghost gems' or 'Buddha citrus fruits' than other places."

But alas, there are too many monks and too few porridges! Often, as soon as a little energy gathers and a glimmer of treasure appears, a whole bunch of hungry ghosts immediately swarm in!

For a group like ours, whose strength is neither particularly great nor small, we're lucky if we can even snag some scraps.

Like me, an old melon, I've been born for so many years and haven't even had a proper, good fruit. Thinking about it, I'd really rather find a rich family to marry into.

As he spoke, the giant pumpkin spirit began to look Lin Ye up and down, seemingly trying to confirm whether the young man in front of him was the legendary "rich man" or "second-generation rich kid".

He had heard some ghost Pokémon who had drifted to Mount Sacred Mountain after their trainers died say that it was so great to be with a trainer who had good conditions.

Therefore, seeing that Lin Ye seemed to intend to take it away, it immediately became concerned about its assets, but then heard Lin Ye say:

"If that's the case, then if I want to take some resources with me, it won't be something I can do in a short time."

Upon hearing this, the giant pumpkin spirit deflated like a punctured balloon, thinking to itself:

"Damn it, sounds like someone who's short on money! I was starving and poor when I was a wandering ghost, and if I'm still poor after being subdued, then what was the point of being subdued for nothing?!"

Suddenly, the giant pumpkin spirit seemed to remember something and blurted out, "If we're talking about things that are valuable in your human eyes, then I do know where the most treasures are in this area."

"You know where the treasure is!"

"Yes, but it wouldn't be of much use to tell you, because the owners of these treasure troves are too powerful. This little fox can't possibly defeat them."

"Gurgle~~"

Soroya let out a dissatisfied whimper, which startled his lackey, who trembled and quickly tried to cover it up:

"I'm not saying you're weak, but the owner of that tomb is too strong. He is none other than the Die Shi Guan, one of the three overlords I mentioned before."

The old nest of that lost coffin was a tomb buried deep underground, the exact age of which I do not know.

But I've heard from elders in the clan that the tomb was built at least two hundred years ago, and must have belonged to some ancient prince or nobleman.

Upon hearing this, Lin Ye almost burst out laughing: "Haha, what a coincidence! I just happened to see that lost coffin!"

"What?! It's a ghost! Where is it? We'd better run for our lives!"

"What's the panic! It's currently confronting two other 'professional' ghosts and can't go back for the time being!"

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! If that tomb truly belongs to an ancient king or nobleman, there should be many burial goods.

The air was silent for a few seconds, then the Pumpkin Clan Chief's enormous body trembled violently, and his voice changed tone:

"You mean...we'll take advantage of its absence to...go and...confiscate its grave and property?!"

"What kind of talk is that! We should conduct a protective investigation of relics like this that have historical research value and cultural significance!"

If there are any easily perishable artifacts inside, our timely rescue excavation would be a truly meritorious deed. I believe the spirit of the tomb's occupant would rest in peace knowing this!

"But even so, there is still one problem!"

Although the coffin is no longer there, it still commands a considerable number of "demons and monsters," making it no easy opponent.

"Don't worry, you've experienced Zoroark's advantage against Ghost Pokémon before. As long as the level difference isn't too great, there won't be any problems! Just lead the way~"

After walking along a rugged mountain path, the giant pumpkin spirit led Lin Ye to an area with even more rugged terrain and a deeper, darker fog.

The surrounding trees were all in an unnatural, twisted, and dead state, and there wasn't even any moss on the ground.

"It's just ahead."

The Pumpkin Clan Chief stopped in front of a recess backed by a massive rock wall and looked ahead, saying:

"The entrance to the tomb is under that rock wall, so I'll wait for your good news here."

After saying that, the giant pumpkin spirit, seeing Lin Ye looking at it with a half-smile, felt its hair stand on end and changed its words:

"Well, since I'm already here, I might as well go in and take a look around!"

Lin Ye focused his senses and discovered that there was actually a patrolling spirit at the entrance of the tomb, which was indeed well-managed.

One Night Patrol Spirit was no match for him. Using the necromancer to conceal his presence, he approached silently and then suddenly attacked, using the Soul Binding Technique he used to control the cursed doll to subdue the Night Patrol Spirit!

The latter was much weaker, and Lin Ye held it firmly in place without much effort, without even making a sound.

Zorua seized the opportunity to rush forward and easily knock it down without making a sound.

Upon reaching the entrance of the tomb, Lin Ye did not immediately enter. Instead, he stood at the entrance and carefully scanned the area with his mental energy for a while. Only after confirming that there was no danger did he enter.

Inside the cave was a downward-sloping passageway, extremely dimly lit, with only a faint glow of ghostly energy.

But for Lin Ye, this darkness was not an obstacle; after practicing necromancy, his eyesight would automatically adapt to the dark environment.

The walls on both sides of the passageway are decorated with murals depicting exquisite ancient Pokémon, which shows that the owner of the tomb had a very high status at that time.

As they went deeper, the passageway became wider and wider. Although they encountered some wandering Pokémon along the way, they were all dealt with silently by Lin Ye and Zoroah in cooperation with the same method they had used to deal with Night Patrol.

The giant pumpkin spirit was responsible for "cleaning up the battlefield," dragging the unconscious "ghost guard" into a shadow of equal size to hide it and prevent it from being discovered by subsequent patrols.

Finally, after turning a corner, the view opened up and a huge underground cave appeared before us!

The cave had clearly been meticulously restored, with smooth stone slabs paving the floor, a high and spacious dome, and a central platform surrounded by countless burial objects, presumably the final resting place of its owner.

But for some reason, there was no coffin on the platform. Instead, in an inconspicuous corner, a skeleton stood against the rock wall!

It is not just a skeleton, but a skeleton wearing a rusty ancient armor!

Its left hand hung at its side, while its right hand gripped a broadsword with a wide blade and thick spine, the tip of which touched the ground, emanating an unusually ominous aura.

While searching for valuable burial items, Lin Ye communicated with Zorua in real time using the Undead Contract.

Throughout the entire process, Lin Ye devoted at least half of his attention to the sword-wielding skeleton in the corner.

It remained motionless, as if it were just an ordinary skeleton, but Lin Ye's sense of danger did not diminish.

Just as he turned his back, something unexpected happened!

The armored skeleton, which had been keeping its head down, suddenly raised its hand without warning, and the ancient broadsword held by its bony fingers flew out of its hand, straight at Lin Ye!
