The Demon Lord of All Forms

Chapter 37 Zhao Kui

Li Qinghe didn't even glance at Yin Xuanling, but looked at Yan Qihui and said calmly, "As an elder, shouldn't I be qualified to include my personal disciple in the sect's true lineage?"

Yan Qihui smiled and nodded: "Of course."

But the next moment, Yan Qihui changed the subject.

"However, as the sect leader, I also have the authority to revoke any disciple's status as a true disciple."

Li Qinghe's face was as cold as frost.

Yan Qihui smiled and waved his hand: "It's just a position of true disciple, which I am naturally willing to give up. However, young Yun has just joined the sect and his background is unknown. I cannot risk the inheritance of my Nine Nether Sect. In my opinion, it is better to let young Yun show his strength so as to convince the masses."

Li Qinghe remained silent.

At this moment, Nong Tingshi spoke up: "Then let Yun Weiyang spar with the other disciples at the Dao Embryo Realm, so that the sect leader can see clearly how far Yun Weiyang has progressed in her cultivation of the 'Demon Seal Scripture'."

Upon hearing this, Yan Qihui looked at Nong Tingshi and chuckled.

"Brother Nong Dao understands my thoughts best. I thank you very much, Brother Dao."

On the high platform, the eyes of several elders all fell on Yun Weiyang in the center of the martial arts arena.

Tens of thousands of disciples also turned their gazes to Yun Weiyang.

Yun Weiyang stood in the empty martial arts arena, surrounded by a dense crowd of people, with an endless starry sky above her. Her white robe fluttered gently in the night breeze, her long hair fell over her shoulders, and her face was calm. She raised her head and looked at Yan Qihui on the high platform.

Yan Qihui was looking at him with a smile, his expression kind.

Yun Weiyang smiled, turned around, faced the tens of thousands of disciples in the stands, and said with a light laugh:

"Which senior brother would like to come up and offer his guidance?"

Yun Weiyang's clear voice echoed across the empty training ground, reaching everyone's ears clearly.

As soon as Yun Weiyang finished speaking, a figure darted out from the stands and landed heavily on the martial arts arena with a thud.

This was a burly man with dark skin and bulging muscles that stretched his black Taoist robe so tight it looked like it was about to burst. He had a rugged face and a pair of triangular eyes full of contempt as he looked Yun Weiyang up and down and sneered.

"Elder Li's personal disciple? With your looks, you probably couldn't even hold a sword properly, could you?"

The burly man clenched his right hand, and demonic energy surged forth, revealing a pitch-black machete in his palm.

The blade is wide, more than a foot longer than an ordinary broadsword. Seven copper rings are embedded in the back of the blade. With a gentle shake, the copper rings collide and make a piercing clanging sound. Demonic energy swirls around the blade, like black flames dancing.

"Remember, the person who killed you was Zhao Kui!"

Before he finished speaking, Zhao Kui took a step forward, his figure rushing towards Yun Weiyang like a cannonball. The demonic energy on his mountain-splitting blade exploded, and the blade light fell like a bolt of lightning. The black blade light tore through the air and emitted a sharp explosion.

Yun Weiyang drew her sword with a flash of light.

The sword was light and its light was like a feather. A silver-white sword light flew out from the tip of the sword and collided with the black blade light that was slashing down.

The blade's edge and the sword's light exploded simultaneously, transforming into countless tiny specks of light that shot out in all directions.

Without pausing, Zhao Kui swept his machete horizontally, the blade light transforming into a black crescent moon, slashing towards Yun Weiyang at the waist.

Yun Weiyang leaned back, the tip of her sword touching the ground, using the momentum to spring up. The sword light slashed upwards from below, aiming straight for Zhao Kui's throat.

Zhao Kui dodged to the side, then turned his blade and slashed down from above.

Demonic energy condensed on the blade, transforming into a black blade beam over ten feet long. Wherever the blade beam passed, it tore a deep trench in the obsidian on the ground, sending fragments of stone flying everywhere.

Yun Weiyang retreated step by step, the sword light weaving a silver-white net in front of her, shredding the descending blades one by one.

Her figure weaved through the flashing swords, Yun Weiyang's white robes fluttering, pure white clouds swirling around her, like a cloud whipped up by a raging wind.

Zhao Kui fought with increasing ferocity, his left hand forming a hand seal, his mouth chanting incantations, and demonic energy condensing in front of him, transforming into a powerful demon god who was over ten feet tall.

The god-demon was entirely iron-black, with muscles as hard as rock. Its arms were unusually long, reaching down to its knees, and each of its ten fingers had a foot-long claw that gleamed with an eerie light, resembling ten curved short swords.

With a roar, the Hercules Demon tore through the air with its claws and pounced towards Yun Weiyang.

Zhao Kui and the Mighty Demon God attacked Yun Weiyang from the left and right.

Zhao Kui's blade flashed fiercely, and the Hercules Demon Claws howled. The two men and the demon fought fiercely in the martial arts arena, their blades, swords, and claws intertwining and leaving deep marks on the ground.

The disciples in the stands watched intently.

"Zhao Kui's Mighty Demon God is quite well-crafted. This demon has at least the combat strength of the mid-stage of the Dao Embryo realm."

"Yun Weiyang is going to suffer a loss. He's going to be outnumbered two to one; he won't last long."

On the high platform, Shen Longlin squinted at the battle below and chuckled, "This kid is quite composed."

Zuo Shulong sneered, "All you do is hide. How long can you hide?"

Yan Qihui remained silent, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest, his gaze fixed on Yun Weiyang, lost in thought.

Yin Xuanling stood on the high platform, arms crossed, coldly watching the martial arts arena, staring at Yun Weiyang's figure, a hint of killing intent flashing in her eyes.

"Zhao Kui, if you fail, you have no reason to live."

On the training ground, Yun Weiyang's sword light flickered erratically. Instead of attacking Zhao Kui, he repeatedly slashed at the Mighty Demon God, leaving shallow sword marks on the Demon God God's body with each strike.

The mighty demon roared repeatedly, waving its claws wildly, but it could never touch Yun Weiyang's clothes.

Zhao Kui's attacks grew increasingly fierce, each strike faster than the last, the blade light surging towards Yun Weiyang like a tidal wave. But Yun Weiyang always managed to dodge at the last moment, or parry with her Flying Immortal Sword.

Yun Weiyang weaved through the flashing blades and claws, seemingly in grave danger, yet her white robe remained undamaged, and even her hair was perfectly intact.

"Is all you can do is hide?" Zhao Kui panted heavily, veins bulging on his forehead. "Is this all the skill an Elder Li's personal disciple has?"

As his sword strikes slowed, Zhao Kui's breathing became somewhat unsteady. He was also starting to feel the strain from the continuous, high-intensity attacks.

Yun Weiyang stopped and stood outside the attack range of the Hercules Demon. Her Flying Immortal Sword pointed diagonally at the ground, and the silver-white sword light slowly flowed on the blade. She looked at Zhao Kui and chuckled.

"You're practicing the 'Nine Yin Manual of Demon Refining,' aren't you?"

Zhao Kui's expression changed slightly: "So what if it is?"

"You've crafted this Hercules Demon quite well," Yun Weiyang said, her gaze fixed on the Hercules Demon. "How many lives did it cost you?"

Zhao Kui sneered, "More than a hundred, I think. I can't quite remember. What, you care about those mortals?"

Yun Weiyang shook her head, her smile unchanged.

"It's not that I'm concerned, it's just a bit of a pity. It's such a waste. Out of more than a hundred people, you've only trained such a demon. No wonder you haven't been able to enter the true lineage yet."
