Primordial Era: The Witch Clan's Dog-Headed Strategist
Chapter 318 Immortals and Mortals Separated, Three Pure Ones Establish a Religion
With the formation of the Earthly Immortal Realm, the landscape of the primordial world underwent a dramatic change.
Pan Xuan stood atop the Great Luo Heaven and slowly raised his hand.
A mighty decree rose from his palm, transforming into a golden light that pierced through heaven and earth, spreading throughout the entire primordial world:
"The separation between immortals and mortals began from this moment."
In the primordial mortal world, all cultivators above the Golden Immortal level, except for the great beings who cultivate in seclusion in blessed lands, enter the Earthly Immortal Realm or the Heavenly Realm to cultivate.
Mortals dwell peacefully in the mortal world, undisturbed by immortals or demons. This is a merit accumulated over countless generations; all cultivators should respect and practice it!
The decree shook the entire world.
Countless cultivators above the Golden Immortal level responded to the call and sprang into action.
They emerged from various caves, temples, and mountain gates in the mortal world.
Transforming into streaks of light, they flew towards the Earthly Immortal Realm that floated between heaven and earth.
That celestial realm was majestic and magnificent, brimming with spiritual energy.
Mountains, rivers, vegetation, and mythical beasts are all formed from innate spiritual energy, far surpassing the power of the mortal realm.
As soon as those cultivators stepped into the Earthly Immortal Realm, they felt their minds clear and their Dao hearts pure, as if even their cultivation had made a slight improvement.
In that celestial realm, they chose places to live and each established their own Daoist temple.
Some were refining weapons, some were refining pills, some were studying the laws of nature, some were deducing formations, and some were meditating to comprehend the Dao...
In the realm of immortals, the path of immortality flourishes, and the scenery is ever-changing.
Countless cultivators above the Golden Immortal level gathered here, exchanging ideas and verifying each other's understanding, jointly comprehending the profound principles of the Great Dao.
As for the powerful beings in those blessed lands and grotto-heavens...
Like Zhen Yuanzi in Wuzhuang Temple, like the Three Pure Ones in Kunlun Mountain, like Jieyin and Zhunti in the Western Spirit Mountain, like the various ancient beings in Longevity Mountain.
They already resided in blessed lands, forming their own world, and were free from worldly strife. Therefore, they did not enter the realm of earthly immortals, but continued to cultivate in their respective blessed lands.
"The Immortal Realm is the home of all immortal cultivators."
"A blessed land, a place of ancient practice."
Pan Xuan said calmly, "Everyone should be in their proper place, and everyone should be in their proper place. This is the way of heaven and earth."
The separation between immortals and mortals was thus established.
Mortals can live peacefully in the mortal world, no longer affected by the struggle between immortals and demons.
Immortals cultivate in the realms of earthly immortals and heavenly realms, no longer needing to be bothered by worldly affairs.
Immortals have their own way of life, and mortals have their own world. Both realms are content with their place and do not interfere with each other.
In the mortal world, the cities of the human race are still bustling with activity and prosperous as ever.
In the realm of immortals, the cave dwellings of immortal cultivators are still filled with spiritual energy and flowing with Daoist charm.
Although there is a separation between the mortal and immortal realms, there is also an unseen connection of cause and effect between them.
The mortal human race has worshipped the gods for generations.
The immortal cultivators of that realm also take it upon themselves to protect the mortal world.
The separation between immortals and mortals is not a severance, but rather each returning to their proper place.
With the separation of immortals and mortals, the ancient ways of teaching and guiding also ushered in a new chapter.
On this day, the Kunlun Mountains were bathed in a myriad of rays of light.
Taiqing Laozi, standing atop Kunlun Mountain, slowly opened his eyes.
His body was filled with Taoist aura, and his gaze was as deep as an abyss, as if it contained all the ultimate truths since the beginning of time.
He gazed at the vast wilderness, at the mortal and immortal realms where the immortals and mortals were separated and each lived peacefully, and suddenly, he felt something.
"Heaven and earth have their own way, and all things have their own laws."
Lao Tzu spoke slowly, his voice calm, yet seemingly able to pierce through the heavens.
"However, sentient beings are ignorant and do not know the Great Way. They either act recklessly and harm their bodies, or they make demands and disturb their minds."
Today, I shall establish a religion, spread this great Dao, and enlighten all living beings in this primordial world!
As soon as he finished speaking, Laozi raised his hand, and a scroll of Taoist scripture appeared in his palm.
When the book was unfolded, countless mysterious patterns flowed, revealing the text of the "Tao Te Ching".
Tao produces one, one produces two, two produces three, and three produces all things.
Heaven and earth are ruthless, treating all things like straw dogs; they do nothing, yet nothing is left undone.
"I established Taoism, taking 'Tao' as its foundation, 'Nature' as its principle, and 'Non-action' as its law!"
Lao Tzu said loudly,
"The Tao follows the natural way, governing through non-action. If all beings can understand the Tao, practice the Tao, and unite with the Tao, they can transcend birth and death, harmonize with heaven and earth, and return to their original source!"
As soon as he finished speaking, it seemed as if an invisible force of destiny, drawn from all directions of the primordial world, converged upon Laozi.
That aura contained a Daoist spirit of "following nature and non-action," seemingly echoing the impartial and just aura of the Dao.
Taoism, established!
Lao Tzu stood atop Kunlun Mountain, his body radiating Taoist energy, as if he had merged with the great Tao of heaven and earth.
He slowly said, "From now on, all those who are destined may enter my Taoist school and comprehend the Great Tao. The gate of Taoism is open for all living beings."
Not long after Lao Tzu established his teachings, on the other side of Kunlun Mountain, Yuqing Yuanshi also felt something.
The Primordial Celestial Venerable valued rituals and laws, and revered education.
He believed that since all living beings are ignorant, they must be guided by rules and regulations and by etiquette and law in order to distinguish between good and evil and right and wrong.
He gazed upon the primordial world, where immortals and mortals had separated and order was newly established, and slowly spoke:
"Heaven and earth have their own way, and all living beings have their own nature."
However, the nature of all living beings varies, some being pure and some impure, some bright and some dark.
A sage should follow the will of Heaven and the needs of the people, understand principles, rectify his mind, teach and guide all beings, and ensure that each finds their proper place.
"I establish this teaching, based on 'reason,' guided by 'rites,' and centered on 'education'!"
Yuanshi said in a loud voice, "Chan means to open and to illuminate."
To elucidate the principles of Heaven and the ethics of humanity, so that all beings may understand good and evil, distinguish right from wrong, know when to advance and retreat, and abide by their proper roles.
"Anyone who can follow the will of Heaven and the needs of the people, and who can restrain themselves and return to propriety, may enter the gate of my teachings!"
As soon as he finished speaking, an aura of righteousness and peace, yet imbued with supreme majesty, converged from all directions of the primordial world and condensed within Yuanshi.
That aura contained a Daoist charm of "orderly conduct and clear principles," seemingly echoing the aura of the earth's main order.
The teachings are expounded, and established!
Yuanshi stood atop Kunlun Mountain, his body radiating Daoist energy, his gaze majestic and profound.
He slowly said, "From now on, all those who are destined can enter my Chan Teaching, understand the principles, rectify their hearts, cultivate themselves and manage their families, so as to achieve the path of sages and saints."
Meanwhile, on the other side of Kunlun Mountain, Shangqing Tongtian could no longer contain itself.
The Tongtian Sect Leader was fiercely independent and valued education for all.
He believed that heaven and earth give birth to all things, all things have a spirit, all things can seek the Tao, and all things can transcend.
He slowly opened his mouth: "Heaven and earth give birth to all things, and all things have a spirit."
All beings are equal, all have the right to seek the Way, and all have the hope of transcendence.
Who says only those high and mighty beings can seek immortality?
"I established the Intercepting Sect, with 'Intercepting' as its foundation, 'Spirit' as its principle, and 'Education for All' as its law!"
Tongtian declared in a clear voice, "To 'intercept' means to seize or take away. To seize a sliver of heavenly secrets and carve out a path to transcendence for all living beings!"
"All sentient beings, regardless of their origin or race, may enter the gates of my Intercepting Sect!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a sharp and powerful aura, yet carrying boundless vitality and inclusiveness, converged from all directions of the primordial world and condensed into Tongtian's body.
That aura contained a Daoist spirit of "all things compete freely under the frosty sky," seemingly echoing the vibrant human spirit from afar.
The Intercepting Sect, be established!
Tongtian stood atop Kunlun Mountain, his body radiating sword energy, his gaze intense and heroic.
He laughed loudly: "Good! From this day forward, all sentient beings may join my Jie Sect! Regardless of origin or race, we will teach without discrimination, and all immortals will come to pay homage!"
The Three Pure Ones established the teachings, and the Three Paths coexisted.
Taoism emphasizes naturalness and non-action, Chanism emphasizes orderly education, and Jieism emphasizes education for all.
Although the three religions each have their own paths, they all lead to the same goal, jointly educating the primordial beings.
In the primordial wilderness, such a flourishing and diverse scene of education emerged.
