Unreliable Sword Immortal.

Lu Chaoding received no response.

Clearly, the system doesn't yet recognize his identity as the head of the Spring Warm Pavilion.

"I estimate that it will take about a month for the Spring Warm Pavilion to be rebuilt before it can be determined whether my position as the sect leader is legitimate. If I can really obtain the identity of the branch sect leader of the Heavenly Demon Sword Sect by destroying and rebuilding, then it will not be difficult for me to rebuild the Heavenly Demon Sword Sect."

Lu Chaoding pondered silently for a while and felt that the world was so big that he could do whatever he wanted.

A moment later, he left the ruins of Chunnuan Pavilion and began to look around.

What came into view was a town with few pedestrians, low houses, and a cold wind blowing through the streets, swirling the withered grass into rolling balls.

Desolate and dilapidated were Lu Chaoding's first impressions of the place.

He soon discovered many more corpses lying on the ground like decorations. Occasionally, groups of patrolling guards would pass by on the street, but they were disorganized and lacked morale, like remnants of an army.

Lu Chaoding knew that this was Chaotic Fire City. He took out the mission scroll that Emperor Yu had given him and examined it. He learned that the reason why this place was so deserted was because of an ancient ruin that appeared a month ago.

Following the directions on the scroll, Lu Chaoding quickly found the ancient ruins.

The ancient ruins are located in a valley. From a distance, the entire valley is shrouded in a scarlet mist, and a towering building can be vaguely seen within the mist.

Outside the valley, there were quite a few simple camps, or more accurately, sentry posts, where a few NPCs were stationed.

"It's quite mysterious!"

Lu Chao narrowed his eyes. Since he didn't see any players, he knew that the valley ahead was still unexplored territory.

Such places usually contain some treasures.

After thinking for a moment, Lu Chao flew into a camp on his sword.

This is the largest camp outside the valley, with red flags flying inside, suggesting that it is staffed by soldiers of the Great Yu Dynasty.

"Who is it?"

Lu Chao's uninvited arrival quickly attracted the attention of the NPCs. Three guards in simple armor stood in front of him with swords. The leader had a scar on his face and wore a helmet.

More NPCs were alarmed and ran out of their tents and towers, showing great panic at Lu Chaoding's arrival.

Lu Chao took out his imperial alliance leader token and showed it to the NPCs, then said, "I am the leader of the righteous sects of the martial arts world. Entrusted by Emperor Yu, I have come here to defeat the unknown creatures of the ancient castle in the valley!"

The mission that Emperor Yu gave to Lu Chaoding originally had seven objectives: not only to defeat the unknown creatures of the ancient castle, but also to quell the chaos in Chaotic Fire City, investigate the ancient ruins of Chaotic Fire City, obtain information about the interdimensional war, and subdue the Wuxiang Sword Sect, Xiantian Sword Sect, and Gusong Sword Sect in the northern border of Tianzhong Continent!

However, the unreliable system has been tampered with. The mission objectives are still seven, but they are exactly the same: defeat the unknown creatures of the ancient castle.

"Are you the leader of the martial arts alliance?"

"My God, it's a high-ranking official!"

"Is this a figure on par with the Imperial Advisor and the Grand Marshal?"

"The Emperor has finally sent someone!"

"Quickly, call the adults out! Our Chaotic Fire City is saved!"

The soldiers who appeared cheered excitedly and surrounded Lu Chaoding; no one doubted his identity.

Soon, the crowd parted, and an NPC dressed in a maroon silk official robe and wearing a black official hat approached Lu Chaoding, cupping his hands and saying, "This humble official is the magistrate of Luanhuo City, greetings to the Alliance Leader."

"No need for formalities, please rise!"

Lu Chao waved his hand, thinking that the guy in front of him was probably just a minor official at the county magistrate level.

The "minor official" immediately burst into tears, choking back sobs, "My lord, you must save us! Ever since the ruins appeared in this valley, Chaotic Fire City has been in chaos. Now, the evil spirit in the valley comes out at random times to abduct people, and bandits are causing trouble, burning, killing, and looting everywhere. The Wuxiang Sword Sect, the Xiantian Sword Sect, and the Gusong Sword Sect are taking advantage of the situation to amass wealth, causing all sorts of man-made disasters. The imperial court's authority in Chaotic Fire City has been completely destroyed. We beg you, my lord, to take action, slay the evil spirit, restore order, and quell the chaos!"

Lu Chao retorted, "Tell me first what's going on with that evil spirit!"

The surrounding soldiers immediately started talking all at once.

"That evil spirit has bat-like wings on its back! It can fly!"

"He's not human; he has a pair of sharp fangs!"

"He was dressed in strange clothes, wearing white gloves, with dark circles under his eyes, and a cloak that was black on the outside and red on the inside."

"He likes to bite people's necks..."

As Lu Chao listened, he felt that the soldiers' descriptions sounded a lot like vampires.

He had seen vampires in the Mech Emperor universe and even knew the awakened vampire duke Alice. He wondered if some vampire boss from the Mech Emperor universe had overstepped its bounds.

After carefully learning about the evil spirit from the soldiers, Lu Chaoding decided to go and meet it.

A moment later, Lu Chaoding arrived at the entrance of Blood Mist Valley. Gazing at the blood mist ahead, he muttered, "That evil spirit is quite powerful. According to Emperor Yu, it can fight transcendent beings, so it should be a level 60 or higher BOSS. But it probably won't be a match for me!"

After some thought, for the sake of stability, Lu Chaoding rode a tiger and sailed into the valley. He also released the ladies from Chaoding Cave, as well as Lu Pifu, Lu Qilin, his second disciple Dali Niu Moyuan, and others.

Soon, Lu Chaoding discovered that there were many broken walls and ruins in the valley, suggesting that this place had once been a prosperous city. The architectural style presented by those broken walls and ruins was completely different from that of the Hongchen Sword Realm. In Lu Chaoding's perception, it was more similar to the architectural style of the Western Middle Ages on Earth.

Gradually, Lu Chaoding felt as if this place was a fragment of land that had been suddenly embedded in, or rather, a fragment of space.

"The terrain is complex, but there doesn't seem to be much wild loot!"

Lu Chao muttered to himself as he approached the only intact but still tilted building in the valley.

This is an ancient castle, and a rather magnificent one at that. The main structure is very intact, and there are even some brightly colored flags on it, with tulip patterns on them.

"Sobbing, sobbing, sobbing..."

Suddenly, a cry came from the castle, like the cry of some kind of large bird, sharp and piercing.

At the same time, crimson blood rapidly seeped from the walls of the castle, and the blood-red mist gathered, dimming the light and making the entire castle appear eerie and terrifying.

"Cough, cough, cough, turn into thick blood, this is your final resting place..."

A sharp, teeth-grinding sound suddenly rang out from the castle.

Lu Chao immediately pointed to the sky, and nine enormous, extraordinary swords appeared above his head.

"What are you?!"

He shouted loudly in the direction of the castle.

The shrill voice rang out again: "I am an undead evil spirit, a soul licker, a bloodthirsty lord. I will seize your life, collect your soul, and your blood and bones will become the bricks and stones of this ancient castle."

"Damn it, you scared me!" Lu Chao didn't care about anything else. With a thought, nine extraordinary giant swords fell towards the blood-red castle.

"Do you know who I am? I'm Diablo, the God of Destruction! I'll chop you up!"

Lu Chaoding decided to demolish the blood-red castle first. (End of Chapter)
