Tower Defense: Public Enemy

Chapter 565 Grand Speaker Sonic

The Tianji Star fleet arrived quickly and left quickly.

Na Luo Huan, a renowned garrison general and one of the top experts on Tianji Star, was always brave and invincible in battle, but this time he ran faster than anyone else.

The more you know, the stronger your fear becomes.

Luo Huan knew all too well that, let alone himself, even if all the garrison generals of Tianji Star came, they would still be no match for [Tian Nu] in a head-on battle.

What he needs to do now is to escape for his life as much as possible and to deliver the message of the coming of the "Wrath of Heaven" to the Supreme Council as soon as possible.

So, a moment later, on that Lighthouse Mountain, in addition to Lei Chi, there were eighteen more combatants from Luo Huan's fleet.

The eighteen combatants were suppressed by the [Great Mighty Tigers], unable to move or even speak. However, under the will of Lei Chi, the [Great Mighty Tigers] did not harm anyone, so the combatants were all healthy, and each of them only felt fear growing in their hearts.

【Heavenly Wrath】Now, as a subordinate of Thunder Pool, its instincts are suppressed by Thunder Pool's will. It hovers around Lighthouse Mountain, and spatial rifts wrap around its body like lightning, making it look extremely terrifying. However, it will not easily commit murder.

This scene on Lighthouse Mountain was quickly captured by Tianji Star's defense system.

Tens of thousands of kilometers away, above the azure sea, nestled among the clouds, stands a fortress that appears to be crafted from crystal. This fortress, like a colossal mountain, is majestic, imposing, dreamlike, and sacred. Occasionally, sunlight filters through, illuminating the fortress and refracting it into streaks of iridescent light.

This fortress is called Floating Cloud Fortress. It is the number one residence of the Supreme Council of Tianji Star, and has been the residence of Sonic, the Supreme Council Speaker, for nearly twenty years.

At this very moment, all the members of the highest council in Floating Cloud Fortress, as well as the garrison generals, received an urgent notice, instructing them to proceed to the Floating Cloud Assembly Hall.

The Fuyun Grand Hall has been the exclusive venue for large-scale meetings of the Supreme Council for the past two decades. At this moment, in the very center of the Grand Hall, a three-dimensional holographic image of the top of Lighthouse Mountain is being displayed.

Behind the Great Hall of the People, a giant who was three zhang tall sat on a high-backed chair.

The giant wore a dark gold robe, had gray hair and purple eyes, and had two silver, curved, ram-horn-like whiskers on his head.

A communicator beeped on one side of the high-backed chair, displaying the contents of Luo Huan's urgent letter.

This giant is none other than the Grand Speaker of the Supreme Council of Tianji Star, and the most powerful person in the entire starry universe, known as "Eternal Sonic".

His right hand rested on the armrest of the high-backed chair, his left hand rubbed his chin, and his gaze wandered over the 3D images in front of him.

"Heaven's wrath, heaven's wrath, haha..."

He muttered to himself, his expression shifting between light and dark.

Before long, other councilors and the garrison general arrived in the hall. After bowing to Sonic, they quickly found their seats and sat down, then checked the information pushed by the defense system. The whole process was quiet.

About ten minutes later, a total of seven councilors and five garrison generals arrived at the Great Hall.

Sonic glanced around the room, cleared his throat, and said, "The situation is urgent. The other speakers and garrison generals will participate via online projection!"

As soon as he finished speaking, beams of light and shadow appeared in the hall, and sitting upright in high-backed chairs were holographic projections of the members of the Star Alliance Supreme Council and the generals stationed on Tianji Star.

The Star Alliance Supreme Council has 366 official members, of whom about one-third are permanently stationed on Tianji Star, while the remaining two-thirds are scattered across various star realms. There are 72 garrison generals on Tianji Star, who are the strongest combat force directly under the Star Alliance. Unless they are on a mission, they are permanently stationed on Tianji Star.

Just five minutes later, the Great Hall was packed, with 366 members of parliament and 72 generals either arriving in person or appearing via projection.

Such an attendance rate is unprecedented in the past few decades. In fact, even for major events such as the appointment of a world lord, the attendance rate has never exceeded four-fifths.

The reason for such a high attendance rate this time, besides Sonic's strong request, is mainly due to the sudden rise of the "big villain".

The villain has already killed nine realm lords, which can be said to have stirred up the starry sky. The members of the Supreme Council and the garrison generals of Tianji Star attach great importance to him. Therefore, after receiving Sonic's notification, most of them thought that there was information about the villain and immediately came to attend the meeting.

Sonic nodded and said loudly, "I believe everyone has received the materials I sent you, and most of you should have read them by now. There may be some who haven't finished reading them, but that's alright. I'll explain them to you personally now."

He paused for a moment, then with a slight manipulation, the holographic projection in the center of the Great Hall of the People changed, displaying a space outpost.

"This is outpost 6541 in the Tianji Starfield Defense Zone. Not long ago, three uninvited guests arrived at this outpost!"

The holographic image then changed, revealing frontal screenshots of Holke, Lan Zheng, and Lei Chi.

"I believe some of you will be able to recognize one or two of these three, such as this one..."

Holk's figure appeared in the holographic image.

"His name is Holker, a renowned treasure hunter with Lord-level combat power, who frequently operates in the Great Ursa Major and Azure Star Planes! And then there's this one..."

In the holographic image, Lan Zheng's figure replaced Holke.

"He is the head of the Lan family, a powerful clan in the Azure Star Realm, with strength approaching that of a Realm Lord. As for his cultivation style... it should be the extremely rare and secretive Meteor Warrior. But does anyone recognize this third uninvited guest?"

At this moment, Lei Chi's figure appeared in the holographic image.

No one in the Great Hall spoke; everyone remained silent. Clearly, no one recognized Lei Chi.

Sonic smiled and said, "I don't know who this mysterious person is either. He ignored the checkpoints and forced his way into Tianji Star. He is currently located at Lighthouse Mountain in the 89th defense zone of Tianji Star. His purpose in entering Tianji Star is still unknown. Next, everyone, please take a look at his attack."

The holographic image came to life, quickly showing the scene of Luo Huan's fleet clashing with Lei Chi. To be precise, it was a battle between Luo Huan's fleet and the "Great Tiger," as well as footage of the combatants being suppressed.

The holographic image finally froze on the appearance of [Heaven's Wrath].

This time, discussions gradually began to circulate in the Great Hall of the People.

Someone stood up and asked, "Speaker, has this person not been captured yet?"

Sonic replied, "Not yet!"

Another person stood up and said, "Judging from this person's methods, they are very similar to those of the Cosmic Walker. Could he be a Cosmic Walker?"

Immediately, someone stood up to refute: "That's not right! Cosmic Walkers can ride cosmic beasts, but what this person released is clearly not a cosmic beast. I think he might be a cultivator from some secret sect."

"Who is this person? What is his identity? Why don't we just ask Holk and Lan Zheng? I've met Holk several times and even helped him out of some troubles. As for the head of the Lan family, I've dealt with him in the past. I believe he'll give me some face if we meet."

"General Luo Huan couldn't even capture this person? It seems he at least possesses the strength of a Realm Lord."

"This person's methods are quite sophisticated, but is he someone we should take seriously?"

"Could he be that great villain?"

"No, I've seen the portrait of the villain; he doesn't look like this..."

Seeing the congressmen and garrison generals' discussion growing increasingly heated, Sonic coughed twice to interrupt them and continued, "Regarding this person's identity, Tianji Star has already sent people to contact Holker and Lan Zheng. I believe it won't be difficult for them to find out his identity. However, the key point isn't his identity, but this!"

The holographic image showed a close-up of [Heaven's Wrath], which made many people frown and look on.

"Does anyone recognize this?" Sonic didn't keep them in suspense, stating directly, "It's Heaven's Wrath!"

"Divine wrath?"

"A cosmic behemoth?"

"That's quite an intriguing name!"

"So this Heavenly Wrath is difficult to deal with?"

"Speaker, please get to the point quickly. Let's skip the interactive segments; I'm busy here!"

"Yes, Speaker, let's get straight to the point."

"What kind of celestial behemoth is Tiannu? What is its combat strength? Grand Speaker, please tell us quickly."

Hearing the question from the members of parliament, Lan Zheng said, "Everyone, Tian Nu is not a giant star beast, but a special life form. Its combat power... how should I put it? You all know Sheng Tian Wang. Sheng Tian Wang was a super expert in the pre-Alliance era. Even in modern times, his combat power would probably be enough to wipe out a hundred or eighty ordinary world lords without any problem."

"Victorious King? Why are you mentioning Victorious King?"

"The King of Victory is a legendary figure. If he were still alive, his fighting power would indeed be terrifying."

"Unfortunately, this super strong expert has disappeared, and his God-Locking Coffin seems to have also disappeared."

"What, is King Shengtian related to this Heavenly Wrath?"

"Could it be that the Heavenly King defeated Heavenly Wrath before? And now Heavenly Wrath has reappeared?"

"Speaker, please, stop stammering. Just say what you have to say. Dragging this out is a waste of time."

Sonic glanced at the councilman who had advised him to "speak quickly," his expression calm, and said in a deep voice, "Heavenly Wrath is the lifelong enemy of King Sheng. As far as I know, King Sheng created the Coffin of God Locking precisely to fight Heavenly Wrath to the death, and that duel with Heavenly Wrath is the reason for his disappearance. Based on the information we have, Heavenly Wrath's strength is probably even greater than King Sheng's!"

"What? This unassuming little monster is actually stronger than King Shengtian?"

"How is this possible?"

"So what does the appearance of this Heavenly Wrath here signify? Has the Heavenly King lost the duel?"

"That guy unleashed the Wrath of Heaven, doesn't that mean he's even stronger than the Wrath of Heaven?"

"Speaker, did you call this emergency meeting so we could work together to find a way to deal with Heaven's Wrath and that mysterious guy?"

"What the Grand Speaker means is that the starry sky is not peaceful. Besides the great villain, there may be another dangerous figure arriving..."

Sonic coughed again and then said, "You may not know how powerful the Wrath of the Sky is. To put it simply, the Wrath of the Sky is a symbol of destruction by nature. It can cause various natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods. If left unchecked, its appearance will surely bring endless calamities to the planet Tianji."

After a brief pause, Sonic continued, "Fortunately, this Heavenly Wrath is currently only entrenched at Lighthouse Mountain. I've already deployed garrison forces a thousand miles away from Lighthouse Mountain, setting up Primal Cannons in a fan shape. This super-fierce beast, which even the Heavenly King couldn't subdue, requires our proactive approach! To avoid insufficient manpower, I request that you all come to our aid immediately after the meeting. Also, regarding that mysterious person of unknown identity, to prevent cosmic turmoil, it would be best to capture him as well; this also requires your support. Furthermore…"

Sonic's eyes lit up.

"There's another reason I've gathered you all here today: to discuss how to deal with that notorious villain. According to reliable information, after leaving the neighboring star realm, he's headed straight for Tianji Star. He's currently only about 33 million kilometers away and is expected to arrive within three days. Given his methods, a bloody battle is inevitable. I believe most of you should be able to reach Tianji Star within three days if you act quickly. Therefore, in my capacity as the Grand Speaker, I've summoned you here. If you could invite some of your friends who are Realm Lords, that would be even better!"

Next, Sonic talked about some trivial matters, but in short, he hoped that all the councilors would support Celestial Star as quickly as possible.

Most lawmakers responded positively to this.

After the meeting ended and the auditorium was empty, a voice suddenly came from the void: "Sonic, I can sense that King Sonic is not dead yet."

"Hmm?" Sonic looked into the void. "King Victory is immortal, so it's normal for him to be immortal. But what about Heavenly Wrath? Can you handle him?"

"I'm about 70-80% sure!"

The voice that came from the void was devoid of emotion, cold and harsh, and continued: "However, even I cannot be sure of the strength of the person who released the wrath of heaven. He is very powerful, and he seems to be searching for something now. I can feel that his power is penetrating Tianji Star."

"What are you looking for?" Sonic narrowed his eyes and said, "This person is probably related to King Victory. Could he be searching for the Heart of Eternity? But even so, it doesn't matter. Once I enter the Eternal Realm, I fear no one! Besides, he is about to be born!"

"He... is the eternal Sonic!"

The voice in the void paused, "How long will Eternal Sonic remain after waking up this time?"

"If all goes well, he will fall into slumber again after he has dealt with the great villain and that mysterious person! Speaking of which, that great villain is very likely related to the Heaven of Rebirth. The nine realm lords he killed were all involved in that matter back then."

"You were involved in that incident back then, and you were even the mastermind!"

"That's right, that's why I plan to awaken the eternal Sonic! If it weren't for that stubborn Zuo Tangyu who was trying to ascend to heaven and blocking that passage for 40,000 years, you and I would not be in our current state."

"Yes, if the original plan had succeeded and we had obtained the power of that Heavenly Dao, perhaps we would already be on the path to transcending the heavens!"

"Hahaha, it's only a mere forty thousand years too late!"

Sonic laughed loudly, "Go and prepare yourself. When that passage tears open again, you will have to face the divine realm and its laws."

"clear……"
