Chapter 7 The Girl's Kendo Belt

The worries and anxieties of adolescence come and go quickly.

After math class, the two of them acted as if nothing had happened and returned to their usual selves.

Yuta Shirakawa put his math textbook aside, took out a blank sheet of paper, and continued drawing the character he hadn't finished the night before.

With just a few strokes, Kaoru Kamiya's image appeared on the paper.

Masako Takahashi peeked out like a curious kitten, and exclaimed in surprise as she watched Kaoru Kamiya's drawings become increasingly detailed and three-dimensional, "Wow, Shirakawa-san! I never knew you could draw!"

As Shirakawa Yuta continued drawing, he said, "I can only manage a little bit."

"Really? Judging from Shirakawa-san's movements, it doesn't seem like you only know a little bit."

Shirakawa smiled but didn't reply.

After all, he is an honest person, an upright person, and a person who would not lie!

But at the same time, he is also a humble person, so he can only respond with a smile.

Masako Takahashi didn't feel embarrassed at all. In her memory, Yuta Shirakawa had always been this kind of person: calm, aloof, and quiet.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have been sitting next to each other for so long, and they still wouldn't be using honorifics to address each other.

Then, he asked to himself, "What is Shirakawa-san drawing?"

Yuta Shirakawa thought for a moment, then explained, "I just saw a nice manga, and I'm currently looking at the characters in it."

He shouldn't be considered to be lying, right?

"oh."

Masako Takahashi immediately lost interest; after all, she was a literary-minded girl!

Comics will only limit her imagination!

In his spare time after class, Yuta Shirakawa finished drawing the characters Kaoru Kamiya and Tomoe Yukishiro. He also drew the two scenes at the end of the reminiscence arc: Tomoe lying in the snow and cutting a cross scar on Kenshin's face with a knife, and Kenshin holding Tomoe's body.

After finishing the drawing, Shirakawa Yuta snapped his fingers in satisfaction.

Not only was he satisfied with his own drawing skills, but he was also excited about the upcoming debut of this work in the new world.

As a loyal fan, he is happy to recommend it to those around him, especially since this work may bring him great benefits.

Soon, it was time for get out of class to end.

After packing his things as usual, Shirakawa Yuta wanted to go straight home.

But after taking only two steps, he was stopped by Kurosaki Takeshi.

"Yuta, where are you going?"

Upon seeing Kurosaki Takeshi, Shirakawa Yuta suddenly realized something, slapped his forehead, and remembered that the kendo club had already started its activities.

Seeing Kurosaki Takeshi approaching with his backpack, he finally spoke, "I almost forgot the kendo club has resumed training. Thank goodness for your reminder, Takeshi, otherwise I would have missed it again this afternoon. By the way, what was the captain's reaction yesterday? I hope there's nothing seriously wrong?"

Hearing this, Kurosaki Tsuyoshi chuckled and joked, "Yuta, you're in trouble. The captain was really angry yesterday. In his anger, he even broke a wooden sword by the wall. You're going to be in big trouble today."

"Wh...what?"

Kurosaki Tsuyoshi didn't actually know why Hoshino Tsukigen broke the wooden sword, but that didn't stop him from making up jokes. And coincidentally, he guessed the gist of it.

Yuta Shirakawa was taken aback by Kurosaki Tsuyoshi's description and began to have second thoughts. He wondered if he should just skip it today, and his pace unconsciously slowed down.

As if he could read Shirakawa Yuta's thoughts from his actions, Kurosaki Takeshi said with some surprise:

"You're not thinking of running away, are you?"

Yuta Shirakawa nodded seriously and said the thought he had last night: "I plan to quit the club."

"Quiting from the club?"

Upon hearing this, Kurosaki Tsuyoshi lowered his hands from behind his head and continued incredulously, "No way, Yuta. You're quitting the company over something so trivial? That's not like the person I know."

Yuta Shirakawa rolled his eyes, somewhat speechless. "How could it be because of such a small thing? It's just that I have other things to do and don't have that much time to waste on this."

Kurosaki Tsuyoshi nodded. "I see. I knew it. How could the Shirakawa Yuta I know back down over something so small? But are you going to do a part-time job?"

Kurosaki Tsuyoshi knew that Shirakawa's family was not well-off, and that he would occasionally tutor to supplement his income.

After all, a deviation value of 72 is still quite valuable.

Yuta Shirakawa neither denied it nor explained that he wanted to draw manga; he simply replied "yes" to brush it off.

However, even if you want to leave the club, it's better to do it in person at the kendo club, so he went to the kendo club with Kurosaki Takeshi.

Inside the locker room, Kurosaki Takeshi asked, "Since you're leaving the club, are you still going to participate in today's training? I heard they're having a pre-school sparring test today."

Yuta Shirakawa thought about it and figured that since he was already there, there was no harm in participating.

Moreover, it's a confrontational test, so even that pervert Hoshino Tsukigen can't punish him. Watching others fight is not bad either.

At worst, he can just quit the company when that time comes.

Thinking of this, he replied, "Well, let's consider this the last lesson."

As he spoke, he opened his wardrobe, but the next second he froze on the spot.

The obi (belt) placed next to the neatly folded kendo uniform was emitting a blue light.

Yuta Shirakawa was somewhat surprised. Why would this be considered a piece of equipment?

As I reached out and picked it up, the explanation of the item came into view.

The Girl's Kendo Belt (Blue)

【Effect: 1. Kendo skill reaches professional level (Kendo 4th Dan)】

2. Strength increased by one.

[Introduction: Oh, innocent young boy, do you still remember where this belt came from?]

Current status: Owned.

Looking at the description and the name of the equipment, Shirakawa Yuta suddenly remembered that this belt was originally lent to him by Hoshino Tsukizuru.

Last semester, when he first enrolled, he caused a sensation throughout the school because of his appearance, which was just like that of the readers.

Girls often slip letters into his desk or cabinets, and some girls will secretly take his belongings, such as a pen or other small items.

On one occasion, his belt, which he had kept in the kendo club's locker, was taken away.

He was completely unaware of this until just before training. He went around the locker room to borrow some, but no one else had any extras, so he had no choice but to bite the bullet and go to the training field.

He had to keep his pants up while he trained.

In the end, Hoshino Tsukigen couldn't stand it anymore and gave him his spare belt.

When he returned it the next day, Hoshino Tsukizuru replied that she didn't want things that others had used, so he kept it and used it until today.

Incidentally, shortly after this incident, the girl who stole his belt was caught and received a severe punishment.

Since then, things have become much quieter around Shirakawa Yuta.

Although girls still occasionally send him love letters, no one dares to steal his things anymore.
