Great Xia, Shangjing.

Han Duo was in the duty room looking at the North American war reports transmitted back by the orbital satellite, his fingers flying across the communication terminal.

The data from the battle at Yellowstone Crater had just been updated, and a preliminary statistic of the battle results popped up on his screen.

Earth-Splitting Bear King: Dead.

The fourth subordinate of the sixth rank: Death.

More than 120 fifth-tier beast kings: dead.

The horde of beasts of rank four and below that covered the perimeter of the crater: annihilated.

Han Duo packed up the battle report and was about to send it to various countries when another message popped up in his inbox.

The sender was Song Chen himself. The message contained only one line of text.

"After the Bear King's death, the North American Beast King began a full-scale escape, notifying various countries to prepare for pursuit."

Han Duo stared at the line of text for three seconds, then burst out laughing.

He laughed to himself for a long time in the duty room, laughing so hard he couldn't straighten up from the control panel.

The duty officer beside him looked at him anxiously: "Captain Han, are you alright?"

"It's okay," Han Duo said, wiping away tears of laughter and pointing at the screen.

"Did you know that the Beast King is on the run? The sixth-tier Beast King, the highest combat power among all the alien beasts in the world, is on the run."

"For the past fifty years, only humans have been running away; now it's their turn."

He took a deep breath and began editing the report.

At Rocky Mountain Air Force Base, Eileen boarded the Black Falcon again.

She turned on the holographic communication screen in her seat and dialed Horton's encrypted channel.

"Sir, Congressman Song has left Yellowstone and is moving towards Lake Michigan."

"I took off from Rocky Mountain Air Base and am expected to arrive in the airspace over eastern North America in two hours."

"I need you to notify all base cities in the Great Lakes region in advance that Councilor Song is hunting down the fleeing Beast King, and there is a possibility that the Beast King may attack the city's defenses."

"Have the city defense forces prepare for emergencies, but do not take the initiative to intercept the Beast King."

"Shouldn't we intercept them? What if the Beast King charges into the city?" Horton's voice was filled with confusion.

Eileen adjusted the angle of the communication screen and sent over a clip of the battle she had just recorded.

The footage is very short, only a few minutes long, and shows the battle at Yellowstone crater.

After reading it, Horton remained silent for two seconds before making his decision.

"Understood, I will inform all cities immediately."

Chicago base city on the shores of Lake Michigan.

This third-largest base city in the United States is located on the southwest shore of Lake Michigan.

Fifty years ago, this was the industrial heart of the Eagle Nation; now, the lakeshore is dotted with defensive artillery emplacements and psionic barrier generators.

William Clark, the city's defense commander, stood in the city wall command tower, his communicator ringing again just as he had hung up.

"General, a sixth-tier Beast King psionic signal has been detected in the direction of Lake Michigan, moving rapidly southward from the north! It's moving extremely fast, and is expected to... expected to reach our defenses in three minutes!"

The communications officer's voice trembled.

Clark clenched his fist.

"That lake beast? Wasn't it dormant at the bottom of the lake for twenty years? How come it suddenly came out?"

He immediately rushed to the observation screen.

On the screen, a deep red psionic dot was hurtling southward from the northern tip of Lake Michigan, at a speed far exceeding that of any known Tier 5 sea beast.

Its high-speed movement plowed a white trail hundreds of meters wide across the lake's surface, and the waves had already surged onto the shore, crashing against the outer breakwater on the north side of Chicago.

"The entire city is on high alert!"

"Activate all psionic barriers, load main gun arrays, and all residents immediately take to underground bunkers."

Clark yelled into the communications channel.

The city's alarms sounded simultaneously.

The piercing sirens echoed through the streets as residents, guided by city guards, surged toward the entrance to the underground bunker.

A city of millions was plunged into panic within minutes.

The streets were packed with people running, cars were stuck at intersections and couldn't move, and parents were carrying their children out of their cars and running to the nearest cover.

The defenders on the city wall were all in position, the main cannons were pointed towards the lake, and the pale blue light membrane of the psionic barrier was slowly rising.

Clark stared at the observation screen; the lake beast's psionic signal was getting closer and closer.

It has already crossed the center line of Lake Michigan, and its speed has not decreased at all.

Then he noticed another point of light, a silver point of light, approaching at high speed from the southwest, its trajectory straight without any detours.

It was much faster than the lake beast, and the speed measurement numbers on the observation system jumped rapidly on the screen before stopping at a number that made the operator think the instrument had malfunctioned.

"General, the second signal is coming! It's incredibly fast and heading straight for the lake beast!" the observer shouted.

Before Clark could answer, the silver dot on the screen had already blocked the red dot.

Song Chen stepped out of the void above Lake Michigan and appeared directly on the water in front of the lake beast.

The Eye of Truth pierced through the lake water and locked onto the lake beast that was charging at high speed.

It is 800 meters long and resembles a giant crocodile, but is covered with scales and fins. It is extremely fast underwater, but it can't outrun the void.

The Star Core Thunder Prison exploded beneath the lake's surface, and more than a dozen thunder dragons plunged into the water in pursuit. The lake beasts tried to burrow into the silt at the bottom of the lake to escape, but the thunder dragons burrowed into the silt layer.

Three seconds later, a ball of silver light exploded at the bottom of the lake, and a water column hundreds of meters high shot up from the surface of the lake.

The lake beast's carcass rolled up from the center of the water column, belly up, with silver arcs of electricity still crackling from the gaps in its scales.

Song Chen hovered above the lake, took the beast's crystal core, glanced at the system panel's notification, then activated his void teleportation and disappeared.

From intercepting the lake beast to killing it, the entire process took less than fifteen seconds.

On the Chicago city walls, the defenders remained in battle stance, main guns pointed at the lake, fingers pressed on the fire button, the psionic barrier just halfway up.

Then they saw the carcass of the giant beast that had been overturned on the surface of the lake.

Clark stood in the control tower, the communicator slipping from his hand.

He looked at the lake beast marker on the observation screen, which had turned gray, and then at the silver dot of light that was rapidly moving away.

"Alarm lifted, Beast King is dead."

"To reiterate, the Beast King is dead."

"Executor: Song Chen of Da Xia".

The citywide sirens stopped abruptly after sounding for less than three minutes.

The residents in the underground bunker looked up at the red warning lights that had stopped flashing, and exchanged bewildered glances.

Some people tentatively pushed open the door of the bunker and stepped into the street.

Sunlight shone on the empty streets, and the towering water column on the distant lake was slowly receding.

A child, holding his mother's hand, pointed towards the lake and asked, "Mommy, is the monster dead?"

His mother did not answer, because she did not know the answer either.

But she saw the guards on the city wall begin to take off their helmets, some cheering, some shouting.
