Chapter 104 The Long Night
Chapter 104 A Long Night
The nun's kissing skills were clumsy; as soon as their lips touched, she made an almost biting motion, biting his upper lip.
At the same time, her strong arms wrapped around the back of his neck until she realized that the long kiss had almost suffocated them, at which point she quickly withdrew her arms.
The two separated briefly, their heavy breathing rising and falling in the tent. There was no apology, nor any shame for their rough behavior. The nun wiped her mouth, licked her lips with a knowing look, and tilted her head to give him an inquiring glance, waiting for his response.
Without needing any words, Simon made his choice through his actions.
Fighting against all sorts of bizarre creatures and outwitting his own kind, Simon not only gains valuable combat experience but also comes to understand his own life philosophy.
Never let yourself have regrets.
This night was destined to be long and crazy.
In a daze, Simon drifted off to sleep.
In his dream, he encountered a fierce beast on a vast plain.
With its extremely strong body, savage and chaotic attacks, and occasional wild bites, it is undoubtedly a very difficult opponent.
Simon confronts the beast bare-handed.
The wildness dormant within him was unleashed, and he fought the beasts without hesitation. When a beast tore at his neck, he immediately bit back fiercely. When a beast choked his neck, he would retaliate mercilessly, engaging in a fierce and exhilarating battle with the beasts.
They fought relentlessly, relying solely on instinct, without any skill or technique.
He silently adjusted his breathing, controlled the rhythm of the battle, and ensured that he was always in the best condition. He was determined to subdue this beast!
Exhausted, he achieved final victory.
When he opened his eyes again, it was already morning.
The spores of light, simulating the morning sun, streamed through the gaps in the simple tent, illuminating his chest and the beautiful woman beside him.
Simon's arm was so numb that he almost lost all feeling. He looked to his right and saw the nun sleeping soundly, her head resting on his arm.
He reached out his left hand to help him pull his right arm back from under the nun's head, but the sleeping nun changed her position and hugged his arm tightly, a smile playing on her lips. Seeing this, Simon did not insist and could only wait silently for her to wake up from her dream.
About half an hour later, the nun woke up from her dream.
She yawned sleepily, tilted her head, and gave Simon a tired smile.
Without exchanging words, the two tacitly helped each other tidy up their appearance. Simon helped the nun put on her close-fitting light armor, and the nun helped him tidy his messy curly hair.
Simon couldn't find any of his clothes and left the tent shirtless.
Outside the camp, everyone was enjoying breakfast.
Although Pike is a bit of a loner, he is quite capable at his job. He found an edible herb in the flower field, so he got up early this morning to pick some herbs and cook them with the bones from last night. The soup not only tastes good but also maintains a balanced diet.
Breanne, inside the birdcage, was grinding her teeth with her eyes closed. She had never ground her teeth before; instead, she was deliberately making noise to vent her dissatisfaction.
"Last night—" Flora was about to say something when Sophia interrupted her.
Sofia sat gracefully on the ground, gently patting Flannery's shoulder to stop her from continuing. Her demeanor was now truly that of a virtuous wife and loving mother.
"My team of tomb raiders has a rule: never, ever discuss what happened last night." She leisurely took a sip of hot bone broth, looked at Simon meaningfully, and continued, "No matter what happened last night, it's not allowed to be discussed again."
Isn't this exactly what you're discussing? Simon was both amused and exasperated.
"Hey, Frannie, would you like to hear a short story?" Brienne, inside the birdcage, suddenly asked Frannie.
"Okay, okay!"
Although Flani has an adult body, her mind remains at a child's level, and she especially loves listening to stories.
"Ahem, once upon a time, there was a scientist who raised many red-eyed fruit flies. Suddenly, a precious white-eyed fruit fly was born among them."
"The scientists really liked this white-eyed fruit fly, but it was very weak, extremely weak, and was nearing the end of its life."
Frani blinked. The story was clearly beyond the little girl's level, but Simon knew that the guy was using the white-eyed fruit fly to mock him.
"Just when it was on its last legs, this male white-eyed fruit fly mustered its last bit of strength and, as if in a final burst of energy, energetically mated with an ordinary red-eyed female fruit fly, passing on its genes. This is a famous genetic experiment."
"I didn't understand," Flora frankly admitted.
"But some people can understand it." Breanne, in the birdcage, said, then looked at Simon and stuck out her tongue at him as if making a face.
After breakfast, everyone sat around Simon, listening to his next steps.
His next plan is to liberate the entire Friendly Camp.
Even Sofia, who was eager to save her companion, felt that the action was too daring.
"Are you really sure you want to do this?" she asked seriously. "Do you know how risky this would be?"
Simon was well aware of the situation, but it was a decision he had to make.
"We have far too many vulnerabilities right now—" he calmly explained to Sophia.
"Don't treat Carl like a fool. He'll find out about the glass jar and the steam armor sooner or later. To be precise, he might have already noticed something. We must act quickly and rescue all the hostages before he realizes what's going on."
So far, the Slaughter Game has not eliminated any faction, and there hasn't even been a large-scale battle. Karl will definitely notice this and eventually discover the truth behind their alliance.
The steam armor incident was a trigger. Losing a set of steam armor would make Karl realize clearly that some of the current participants in the Slaughter Game could threaten him. At that point, he would inevitably go mad again, issuing new rules or simply using hostages to threaten them into killing each other.
Therefore, rescuing all the hostages is the right thing to do now.
"Franny, please stay with Pike and guard the camp to protect Professor Loris."
Flanie and Piqué both nodded.
Simon then looked at the nun: "Don't leave the camp for now; there are still fanatics chasing you."
The nun nodded obediently.
"I have another outfit here, you can wear this one if you don't mind."
Pique brought Simon new clothes, the attire of a cave raider: a brown top paired with a dark gray animal skin robe, suitable for various complex environments. The robe's hood also had a pair of goggles with interchangeable lenses, achieving a telescope-like effect.
Pique's height and build are similar to Simon's, so he can definitely wear them.
"Thank you, I really like it," Simon said, expressing his gratitude.
With his backpack on and harpoon in hand, he set off once again toward the Friendship camp.
