Chapter 104 Parachuting

A night breeze rushed in instantly, the roaring sound grew louder, and cold air entered the cabin.

Lu Ye's breathing inside the mask suddenly became heavy. He looked out of the hatch, where it was pitch black below, with only a faint dark gray outline visible under the clouds in the distance.

The parachute commander checks the drop track: "Ready to drop the crate!"

The first equipment box was pushed to the edge.

The green light flashed. The box slid out of the cabin and was instantly swallowed by darkness.

A few seconds later, the second one. The third one.

Eugene looked at the screen and said in a low voice, "Box A's trajectory is normal."

"Box B is shifting due to crosswinds."

"Box C————"

He paused for a moment: "The signal is unstable."

Yuri's expression darkened slightly: "We'll talk about it after we land."

The skydiver raised his hand: "Ready to jump!"

Eugene will jump first, as he needs to establish location and navigation as quickly as possible after landing.

Roman was second, Artyom third, Ruslan fourth, Rikuno fifth, and Yuri last.

Yuri stood behind Lu Ye and patted him on the shoulder: "Watch my hand gesture."

Lu Ye nodded.

The green light came on, and Eugene stepped out of the cabin.

Roman followed, and Artyom jumped down without hesitation.

Ruslan stood at the doorway, turned around and gave Lu Ye the middle finger: "Don't die."

After saying that, he jumped out.

Lu Ye stood by the cabin door, the wind hitting him directly, and all he could hear were loud noises.

He glanced down at it.

Black, endless black, and at that moment, his heart clenched.

Even though the system skills he exchanged have been integrated into his body, and even though his brain knows what to do.

But her body instinctively resisted, her fingers gripping the door frame tightly.

Yuri patted his shoulder.

"Jump." Lu Ye gritted his teeth. "Damn it. I can't die. My daughter is still waiting for me. My parents are still waiting for me."

Lu Ye let go, and his body fell forward.

The next second, the world exploded, and the sound of the wind instantly drowned out everything else.

His body began to spin, and his vision followed suit, making him dizzy.

Black sky, transport plane taillights. Clouds, ground, and sky again.

The mask on my face started to frost over, and I could clearly hear my own breathing, which was rapid and heavy.

Lu Ye tried to adjust his posture, but the more he moved, the faster he rolled.

He couldn't speak or hear anything.

Lu Ye forced himself to look at the altimeter; it was too fast.

"Stay calm, stay calm!" He tried his best to calm himself down, just as Yuri and the others had taught him.

The motion memory he acquired from the [Skydiving/Airborne Specialization] skill began to take over his body.

Keep your chest down, arms outstretched, legs apart, and avoid kicking randomly.

Just then, a dark figure approached from the side and behind; it was Yuri.

He moved closer to Lu Ye's right side, reached out, and used his forearm to press down on the airflow on Lu Ye's side.

Lu Ye felt his body pause and his spinning speed slow down.

Yuri then used his legs to adjust his position, moving closer to his left side to use the resistance to help him stop rolling.

Lu Ye saw Yuri raise his hand: open his palm, press down, relax, and adjust his posture.

With Lu Ye's efforts and Yuri's assistance, the spin finally stopped, and the body returned to a prone freefall position.

Lu Ye took deep breaths; white mist filled his mask, and a thin layer of frost formed on the edges. His fingers felt a little stiff.

He glanced at the altimeter; there was still time.

Yuri, positioned slightly below him, tapped his helmet and pointed to the altimeter.

Lu Ye nodded subconsciously, indicating that he understood.

The two continued to fall, and the darkness below began to take on layers.

In the woodlands, farmland, and open fields, extremely fine points of light could be seen in the distance; they could be vehicles on village roads or sentry posts.

The breathing sounds inside the oxygen mask became clearer, and the altitude was approaching the predetermined value.

Yuri suddenly flashed his powerful flashlight.

Lu Ye touched the umbrella handle with his right hand.

Without hesitation, pull!

My body jolted suddenly, and a tremendous pulling force came from my shoulders and thighs.

The main parachute deployed, and the descent speed decreased sharply.

The wind subsided considerably, but my ears were still ringing.

A very short voice came through the radio.

"Lu, your umbrella is working properly." It was Yuri: "Clear airspace below."

Lu Ye lowered his voice: "Received."

Lu Ye looked down; the farmland was getting closer and closer, and the forest belt was on his left.

He adjusted his gliding direction and maintained his posture according to the small navigation instructions.

Before landing, he put his legs together, bent his knees slightly, touched the ground with both feet, rolled to the side, his backpack hit the ground, and he flipped over.

Lu Ye quickly untied the umbrella, dragged the canopy into the shallow ditch beside him, and covered it with mud and weeds.

He then took out the weapon case and confirmed that the SVLK-14S was intact.

With the night vision goggles on, the world turned a clear green.

In the distance, Yuri crouched down and gestured to him: Assemble.

Lu Ye nodded and moved over in a low posture, the two of them walking side by side in a low posture.

Yuri lowered his voice: "Lu."

"Um?"

"This doesn't look like your first time skydiving."

Lu Ye glanced at him: "I definitely didn't skip it."

Yuri said, "At first it looked like he hadn't jumped at all. After exiting the cabin, the flip was really ugly."

Lu Ye: "Thank you for the compliment."

Yuri didn't laugh: "But the later part is different."

"You recovered quickly and your judgment on opening the parachute was correct."

"Like someone who has jumped many times, but hasn't done it in a long time, and has initially forgotten how it feels."

Lu Ye paused for a second: "It's all thanks to your excellent teaching."

Yuri glanced at him sideways.

Lu Ye continued, "And you did a great job, boss."

Yuri looked at him and said, "Stop flattering me."

Lu Ye: "To be honest."

Yuri was silent for a moment, then said, "If this is really your first time, then you are very brave."

"And the aerial maneuvers were handled perfectly, at a genius level."

Lu Ye said calmly, "Maybe I'm just afraid of dying."

Yuri looked at him and suddenly laughed: "Can someone who's afraid of death jump this hard?"

Lu Ye did not answer. A few minutes later, the six of them gathered together.

Ruslan gave Lu Ye a thumbs up when he saw him.

Lu Ye grinned and chuckled.

Eugene turned on the terminal, turned the screen brightness to the lowest setting, and then covered it with a light shield.

He quickly confirmed the signals of the three equipment boxes: "Box A is normal, 320 meters away."

"Box B veered off course, about 600 meters, and landed on the edge of the minefield."

"Box C is out of service."

Roman's face darkened: "Box C is out of contact?"

Eugene nodded: "The GLONASS signal was interfered with, and the final trajectory deviated by about 800 meters. The IR beacon did not automatically transmit back."

Ruslan muttered under his breath, "The medical and C4 are both in the C box."

Yuri looked at Roman: "How much do you have in your bag?"

Roman: "Basic medical care is sufficient for emergencies, and only a small amount of explosives are needed. We must find Container C."

Yuri didn't hesitate: "Take box A first."

The six people moved along the edge of the forest belt, their footsteps light.

Artyom leads the way to provide cover, Lu Ye observes from the left flank, Ruslan and Yuri retrieve the box, Roman provides cover from the rear, and Eugene provides navigation.

Three hundred meters is not a long distance, but they walked very slowly.

Eugene stopped every few tens of meters to check the terrain and signal strength.

Lu Ye held a short gun, with an SVLK-14S slung over his back, his gaze sweeping across the field ridges, tree lines, and the distant village road.

Box A landed near a patch of low bushes.

The IR beacon flickers at an extremely low frequency, invisible to the naked eye, appearing as a faint star in night vision equipment.

Yuri raised his hand: Stop.

Artyom first circled around: no tripwires, no footprints, no enemies.

Ruslan stepped forward and unlocked the box.

Upon opening it, he saw the ammunition belt, spare barrel, and RPG-30 inside, and visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Ruslan whispered, "My darling is back."

Yuri glared at him.

Ruslan quickly shut up and began distributing ammunition rapidly.
