Patting Margaret on the shoulder, Connor continued, half-jokingly, "If that day ever comes, Margaret, you and Varga will be my biggest trump cards!"

"Are you so sure that I can team up with your little apothecary? Aren't you afraid that we'll start fighting each other before we even have a chance to deal with Filo?" Margaret's eyes flickered slightly as she asked Connor with interest.

"Margaret, neither you nor Varga are the type to act recklessly or disregard the bigger picture. I believe in both of you; when it comes to crucial moments, you won't let me down!" Connor shrugged, speaking with certainty and confidence.

Seeing Connor's confident demeanor, Margaret slightly pursed her lips and turned her head away. Connor wanted to lean in and comfort her, but before he could speak, Margaret pushed him away and looked at him softly, saying:

"Connor, I'm already very happy that you came to see me first when you returned to Frosinone. You should probably go see your Countess now. She's a real jealous person. If she finds out that you came to see me first, she'll probably be furious!" As she finished speaking, a smug smile appeared on Margaret's face, as if she could already imagine Varga's current state.

Connor was speechless upon hearing this. Margaret was right. If Varga knew that he would come to see Margaret first after returning to Frosinone, instead of her, it would be a disaster!

Seeing Connor momentarily speechless, Margaret's smile grew even brighter. She gently kissed Connor on the cheek, stood up from the bench, waved charmingly at him, and then drifted away.

Watching Margaret's figure gradually disappear, Connor shook his head with a wry smile. Feeling the lingering scent of Margaret on his body, Connor dared not be careless. With a thought, he cast a cleansing spell on himself, then changed into a new set of clothes. After doing all this, Connor nodded in satisfaction, straightened his clothes, and walked towards the Fati Hotel in downtown Frosinone.

Half an hour later, Connor arrived at his and Varga's room in the hotel, but to his surprise, Varga was not there. This puzzled Connor, but he didn't think much of it, assuming that Varga had gone to the underground black market in Frosinone to buy a batch of potions to make potions.

However, just in case, Connor took out a compass from his spatial ring and began searching for Varga's location. Previously, to prevent any extremely urgent emergencies where Connor and Margaret lost contact, Connor had made a set of enchanted items with positioning capabilities and divided them in two. He kept one set for himself and gave the other to Varga. As long as the distance between the two people did not exceed one hundred kilometers, they could know each other's location after activating the positioning function of the enchanted items!

A few seconds later, with the help of the compass, Connor quickly pinpointed Varga's location. However, to Connor's surprise, Varga wasn't in one of the underground black markets where she frequently bought potions, but rather in a place called the "Carlos Theater" in downtown Frosinone!

In Connor's memory, Varga had never been to this "Carlos Theater," and the "Carlos Theater" was not some underground black market where one could purchase cultivation resources such as magic potions. Varga's presence there at this time was undoubtedly very abnormal, and it was very possible that she was in danger!

Although he still didn't know what Varga had done at the "Carlos Theater," the fact that Varga was able to come out of there meant that Connor had been wrong and that Varga hadn't encountered any danger!

A few minutes after Connor returned to his room, Varga also returned to the hotel room. However, to Connor's surprise, Varga showed no joy at seeing him back in the room. On the contrary, she seemed somewhat surprised, as if his return had caught her off guard. Although Varga tried her best to appear calm and as usual, Connor, who knew her well, noticed the slight evasiveness in Varga's eyes when she looked at him.

Connor remained silent about his discovery, pretending to know nothing, and casually asked Varga, "Have you bought enough potions? If not, I'll go buy some for you?"

Upon hearing Connor's question, and seeing that he seemed to think she had gone to buy potions, Varga hesitated for a moment, but ultimately shook her head and said to Connor, "I don't need it for now!"

After saying that, Varga ignored Connor, turned around and went back to her room, slamming the door shut. Looking at Varga's room and the closed door, a look of disappointment appeared in Connor's eyes.

He had expected Varga to tell him what she had done at the Carlos Theater, but to his surprise, Varga's reaction to his probing was to take the opportunity to back down!

Varga's unusual behavior undeniably shook Connor's trust in her somewhat...
