In the wizarding world, it is not uncommon for alchemists to use blood to draw alchemical runes. In particular, in relatively underdeveloped regions like the Odin Empire, it is very common for alchemists to use blood to draw alchemical runes. Basically, every alchemist in the Odin Empire has done this when practicing alchemical runes.

Nevertheless, there are two types of blood that can be used to draw alchemical runes. The first type is the blood of magical beasts. Because magical beast blood itself has energy, it is a natural material for drawing alchemical runes. Moreover, because the Odin Empire has a large number and variety of magical beasts, the price of magical beast materials is not high.

Therefore, 99% of alchemists choose to use the blood of magical beasts when drawing alchemical runes. Connor himself and some alchemists he had come into contact with also used the blood of magical beasts as materials when practicing drawing alchemical runes.

However, compared to the widespread use of monster blood, there are a very few alchemists who, in order to achieve special alchemical effects, do not use monster blood when drawing alchemical runes, but instead use wizard blood or ordinary people's blood!

If Connor is not mistaken, the eerie runes painted on the wall now belong to the latter category, which are painted with the blood of wizards mixed with the blood of ordinary people!

In Reyes' Alchemy, which Reyes taught to Connor, there is a record of a case about mixing wizard blood and ordinary blood to draw alchemical runes. About sixty years ago, an alchemist in the Odin Empire did just that. He mixed wizard blood and ordinary blood in a 3:7 ratio, then added several other things to make it into a new liquid, and used this liquid to draw alchemical runes.

The alchemist did this to harness the spirituality of human blood, gather pure energy, and thus cultivate a kind of magic.

Although the Odin alchemist achieved his goal, he overlooked one crucial point: while the spirituality inherent in human blood can help gather pure energy, human emotions are also infused into the blood, much of which consists of the negative emotions experienced before death. Therefore, while the Odin alchemist successfully mastered the secret technique, he absorbed too much negative emotion, causing him to lose control and become a monster driven only by the desire to kill. Ultimately, he was killed by a combined attack from several Odin wizards.

His story, as a classic example of an alchemist using human blood to create alchemical runes, serves as a cautionary tale for many alchemists.

Connor is now so certain that the Odin runes on the wall were drawn using a mixture of the blood of wizards and ordinary people because of the negative emotions he can now faintly sense emanating from them…

Connor narrowed his eyes, carefully considering the two clues he had found in this eerie basement. After pondering for a long time, Connor seemed to have figured something out. A glint of light flashed in his eyes, and his gaze immediately shifted to the thirteen bronze coffins of different shapes and sizes located in the center of the basement.

Connor was certain that everything in this basement—from the Odin runes on the walls to the skull candlesticks and white candles in the corners—had been there for no more than fifty years. In other words, these things were very likely placed there by an alchemist at Robbie's request.

As for the thirteen bronze coffins in the center of the basement, Connor was not quite sure about their origin. Although the thirteen bronze coffins varied in size and shape and were placed in an irregular manner, as if they had been randomly placed, in Connor's eyes, they were arranged in a well-organized manner, cleverly forming what appeared to be an altar-like magic circle.

Of these thirteen bronze coffins, ten are located on the outer perimeter of the altar, guarding the three bronze coffins at the core. Based on his experience, Connor believes that five of the ten outer bronze coffins were placed there within the last twenty years. As for the other five bronze coffins, although they are quite old, they clearly show signs of repair in recent years.

The ten bronze coffins surrounding the altar, some old and some new, are actually the three bronze coffins that make up the core of the altar. Connor has no idea how long they have existed, but he is certain that they have existed for at least a hundred years!

Although Connor was still unsure of the purpose of Robbie's strange basement, he had a vague guess in his mind that the three bronze coffins at the very center of the altar seemed to contain something extraordinary, and the other things in the basement seemed to be related to guarding and opening these three bronze coffins.

Just as Connor was preparing to do something in the basement to put his guess into practice, the Rubik's Cube in his hand suddenly emitted a buzzing sound, as if reminding Connor of something.

Upon being alerted, Connor's expression instantly changed. Without hesitation, he left the basement and locked the secret passage leading to it. He returned to Arshavin's Optical Shop, then gently tapped the Rubik's Cube in his hand. The large mirror in the shop immediately displayed the scene outside: a man whose figure and face were concealed by a gray robe was quietly approaching Arshavin's Optical Shop after observing the situation on Zanetti Street.

Although Connor couldn't see the man's face and figure clearly because of the gray robe, after observing the man for only a few seconds and sensing his aura, the gray-robed man's figure overlapped with the image of a one-armed man with a venomous look in Connor's mind!

"Prince Boateng!"

Connor's gaze turned serious as he slowly uttered a name, though he didn't know why this guy had found this place.

Now that he's here, if the "closed" sign at Arshavin's Optical Shop can't deter him, Connor has no choice but to face the challenge head-on!

Under Connor's observation through the dressing mirror, Prince Boateng, disguised as a gray-robed man, walked step by step into Arshavin's optician's shop. Seemingly noticing the "closed" sign hanging above the shop and the lock on the door, Prince Boateng stopped ten meters away from the shop!
