"A letter? A letter from Reyes to me?" Connor asked Varga, somewhat puzzled.

Although Bispin had just told Connor a lot of things, explaining the whole story, he hadn't mentioned Reyes's letter to Connor at all. Bispin had told Varga about it, but not him, the recipient of the letter. Was this a coincidence, or was there another purpose behind it?

Hearing Connor's question, Varga replied without hesitation, "That's right, Bispin said Reyes asked him to bring you a letter!" After saying that, Varga seemed to realize something, and seeing Connor's somewhat puzzled expression, she immediately asked, "Connor, didn't Bispin tell you?"

Connor shook his head and said, "Bispin only told me that a guy named Prince Boateng wanted to kill me to get revenge on Reyes, but he didn't tell me that Reyes wanted him to give me a letter!"

Connor's account also left Varga somewhat incredulous. She lowered her head and thought for a while but still couldn't come up with an answer.

"Whatever, Bispin will probably come looking for me again!" Connor shrugged slightly. There are many possible reasons why Bispin did this. Maybe the letter itself doesn't exist, that Bispin lied to Varga, or maybe there's something else going on with the letter. In any case, Bispin must have his reasons for doing this, and Connor still doesn't know!

The only thing Connor is certain of now is that Bispin will definitely come looking for him again. Although Bispin hasn't had time to say what he wants from Connor, he only mentioned that Prince Boateng has come to Frosinone and is very likely to be detrimental to Connor. Connor then ignored him and left on his own. But Connor already knows what Bispin wanted to say but didn't have time to say!

Bispin's purpose in seeking out Connor was simply to have Connor join forces with him to kill Prince Boateng, thereby fulfilling the promise Professor Reyes made to Prince Boateng in Benitezburg years ago: if Prince dared to enter the territory of the Kaman Empire again during his lifetime, Reyes would extract his soul and refine his spirit.

While Bispin is stronger than Connor, if the one-armed man Connor encountered in the Aksa Forest is indeed Prince Boateng, as Bispin mentioned, then Connor estimates that Bispin and Prince Boateng are roughly equal in strength, with no significant difference in ability. In a one-on-one situation, it would definitely be a 50/50 situation, with neither Bispin nor Prince Boateng able to defeat the other.

In that case, if Bispin still wants to complete the task Reyes gave him, then Connor is very important to him. Although Connor's strength is not as good as the two of them, he is still a first-level wizard and an alchemist. If things go well, Connor can set up a magic circle to lure Prince Boateng into it, and then join forces with Bispin to kill Prince Boateng.

Saying that Prince Boateng is definitely going to die would be an exaggeration, but saying that there is a 50% chance of killing him is a conservative estimate, without a doubt!

So even though Connor flatly rejected him this time, Bispin will definitely come looking for Connor again in order to get rid of Prince Boateng!

Bispin's reason for persuading Connor to join forces with him was that Prince Boateng was a threat to Connor and a security risk for him. If Prince Boateng died, then that security risk would be eliminated.

As for Bispin's reasons, he had already encountered the one-armed man who resembled Prince Boateng in the Aksa Forest and witnessed that the one-armed man agreed with Connor's strong murderous intent towards him.

Although he didn't know why the one-armed man in the Aksa Forest had spared him, Connor was certain that given the man's intense killing intent, he would not let him go again if given the chance to face him once more.

On the surface, Prince Boateng poses a significant threat to Connor's safety due to Reyes's situation. Teaming up with Bispin to eliminate Prince Boateng and remove this security threat might be the best option for Connor. However, after realizing this situation, Connor thought for a moment and then chose to refuse Bispin's offer.

The reason is simple. First, Connor does not trust Bispin. As Reyes's subordinate, Bispin has already stood on the opposite side of Connor. Joining forces with him is tantamount to asking a tiger for its skin. Perhaps in the process of joining forces, Bispin will kill two birds with one stone, both eliminating Prince Boateng and tricking Connor.

Secondly, regarding the relationship between Connor and Reyes, Connor and Prince Boateng might not actually be enemies, since they share a common enemy: Professor Reyes. However, the key issue here is that, given the intense killing intent Prince Boateng displayed in the Aksa Forest, even if Connor were to be completely honest with him, he certainly wouldn't believe that Connor, as Reyes's student, would stand against Reyes and become his enemy.

Furthermore, although Reyes doesn't seem to intend to deal with Connor in the short term, in the long run, Reyes will become Connor's biggest enemy. To fight Reyes, Connor's strength alone is not enough; he must cooperate with Reyes's enemies, and the Secret Society's faction is his natural ally.

Although Connor and Isabella, that crazy woman, currently have a very bad relationship and a lot of conflict, this conflict is not irreconcilable. However, if Connor and Bispin cooperate to kill Prince Boateng, who is negotiating with Isabella on behalf of the Boateng family, it would be tantamount to cutting off their own escape route, further exacerbating the existing conflict between Connor and the Royal faction, and pushing their relationship to an irreconcilable point.

Professor Reyes of the Secret Society is indeed cunning and shrewd; he's pulled off a clever scheme against Connor!

If Connor agrees to join forces with Bispin, he will fall into Reyes's trap, becoming a pawn in Reyes's game and cutting off his own escape route. If Connor does not agree to join forces with Bispin to kill Prince Boateng, then Connor will have to bear the enormous security threat posed by Prince Boateng, a first-class wizard whose strength far surpasses his own.

In short, whether Connor agrees or disagrees to team up with Bispin against Prince Boateng, he has already fallen into Reyes's trap!
