Chapter 751 Meeting

Chapter 751 Meeting (1)

Seeing Varga's hesitation, Connor was somewhat surprised. Without thinking too much, he asked Varga, "Varga, is there something you want to tell me?"

Connor's question seemed to have made Varga's final decision. She turned to face Connor, hesitated for a moment, then spoke, "Connor, the detective whose soul I searched still had some information recorded in his mind, about your Ferguson family?"

Upon hearing Varga mention this, Connor immediately became interested, focusing his gaze on Varga and asking without hesitation, "What news?"

"Connor, your father, Alfredo Ferguson, seems to be in very poor health. Connor, you'd better be prepared. Although birth, aging, illness, and death are inevitable for ordinary people, as a pharmacist, I think I can still help him!" Varga carefully chose her words before speaking.

Upon hearing Varga mention the name deep within his memory, Connor's expression immediately fell silent. After a few seconds, he looked up at Varga and said, "Varga, thank you for telling me this. I will arrange it as soon as possible!"

"Okay! I'm leaving!" After telling Connor the secret, Varga seemed much more relaxed. She responded softly, opened the door, and went to the next room to concoct potions, leaving this room alone for Connor.

Alone, Connor dropped all pretense when no one was around. He sighed softly, a hint of hesitation flashing in his eyes. Although he was Connor Ferguson, he was also not Connor Ferguson. Since he had inherited Connor Ferguson's identity, he naturally had to bear the consequences.

Connor had always kept Alfredo Ferguson's condition in mind. In fact, even without Varga's reminder, Connor was already planning to have Varga examine Alfredo. Since the last treatment of Margaret, Connor's trust in Varga's medical skills had undoubtedly reached a new level. Connor believed that with Varga's help, Alfredo wouldn't be completely cured, but living another ten or eight years shouldn't be a problem.

Despite the plan, Connor originally intended to uncover and eliminate Reyes's mole within the Ferguson family, knowing that Reyes had planted a spy within the family. After he and Varga were safe in Frosinone, Varga was treating old Ferguson. However, it now seems that old Ferguson's condition may not allow him to find the spy Reyes planted within the Ferguson family.

So even for Ferguson's sake, Connor has to speed things up and find that mole!

At 8:55 p.m. the following night, in the most famous downtown shopping district of Frosinone, in the Westercrown bar in the middle of Everton Avenue, Connor was sitting in a secluded corner private room, quietly watching the men and women coming and going in the bar.

Five minutes remained, the time he had given the Royal Faction for the rendezvous. However, Connor still hadn't observed anyone resembling him appearing in the bar. Time ticked by, and although Connor appeared calm and composed, sipping his whiskey, the situation was actually causing him to waver slightly over his original plan to cooperate with the Royal Faction against Reyes.

Judging from their current behavior, they may not be very sincere in cooperating with me to deal with Reyes, or perhaps the King's faction is still suspicious of me and worried that I and Reyes are setting a trap for them.

A series of thoughts floated through Connor's mind. However, just a few dozen seconds before the agreed time of nine o'clock, and as Connor was about to give up on the meeting and leave the Westcroft bar, a familiar middle-aged man with a thick beard appeared in Connor's sight and slowly walked towards the private room where Connor was.

"Bang!"

With five seconds left until nine o'clock, the middle-aged man with a thick beard pushed open the door to the private room where Connor was and sat down on the sofa opposite Connor as if no one else was there.

Gazing silently at the middle-aged, bearded man before him, whom he had met once on the train, Connor narrowed his eyes slightly, a fleeting glint of shrewdness flashing within them. While the man's appearance was somewhat unexpected, upon reflection, it seemed perfectly logical, given that the address 63 Zanetti Avenue was the one this man had transmitted to him via the alchemical golem.

Connor stared silently at the middle-aged, bearded man sitting across from him, and the man, in turn, stared back at Connor in silence. They looked at each other for three minutes without exchanging a word. After three minutes, the middle-aged man seemed to sense something from Connor. His thick, dark eyebrows arched, and with a hint of surprise, he broke the silence, speaking to Connor in a hoarse voice, "You've broken through to become a Level One Wizard?"

Connor was somewhat surprised to see that Isabella, who was still disguised as a middle-aged bearded man, had seen through his disguise. Although he did not yet know what Reyes wanted him to do after he broke through to become a first-level wizard, because of his threat, Connor did not intend to publicize the news of his successful breakthrough. So at this moment, only he and Varga knew that he was already a first-level wizard.

Connor intended to keep this news a secret for as long as possible, so in front of Isabella, he tried his best to conceal his aura and make himself look like a high-level wizard apprentice. However, Connor's efforts were unsuccessful, and Isabella saw through his true level at a glance.

"How did you figure that out?" Connor asked immediately, his eyes fixed on Isabella. Since Isabella had already discovered his true level, denying it would only invite ridicule and wouldn't serve any purpose. So Connor didn't deny it but instead asked Isabella.

Isabella did not answer Connor's question, but gave him a complicated look, and then took out a silver ring with a sapphire the size of a pigeon egg from her pocket in front of Connor, and then flicked it lightly twice.
