Wizard Earl

Chapter 748 The Connection

Chapter 748 The Connection

But things are different now. Connor, who has become a first-level wizard in Tunguska, is confident that he has the ability to protect himself and is fully qualified to negotiate with the Royal Family. That's why he thought of coming here to contact the Royal Family, according to the address Isabella left him.

Having identified his target, Arshavin Optical Shop, Connor casually tossed three pennies to White, instructing him, "Go grab some lunch, be back in an hour!"

After giving White his instructions, Connor ignored him and got off the rickshaw, heading towards Zanetti Street. Zanetti Street is one of the few very bustling commercial streets in the city of Frosinone, with shops everywhere. Although it was midday and the sun was shining brightly, and the temperature was not low, there were still quite a few pedestrians coming and going on Zanetti Street!

Connor disguised himself as an ordinary tourist and casually strolled along Zanetti Street. He memorized everything about Zanetti Street. After thinking for a few seconds, Connor determined his escape route should a problem arise. Then, he took a deep breath and pretended to be nonchalant as he walked into his target, Arshavin's Glasses Shop.

Although Connor and the Royal Faction share a common enemy—Reyes—the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my ally. In addition, aside from his previous contact with Martina, a spy planted by the Royal Faction within the Professor's ranks, Connor's only contact with the Royal Faction was that less-than-friendly encounter with Isabella on the train. Therefore, Connor felt it best to be cautious this time and make more preparations to guard against the other party!

Upon entering the optician's shop, Connor quickly surveyed the environment. What he saw surprised him. Although eyeglasses were a relatively new invention, less than a decade old, they were incredibly useful in improving people's vision.

So the optician's shop in Loen is always very popular. However, perhaps because Frosinone is a city located deep inland, the local people are more conservative and less accepting of new things than in Loen. As a result, the optician's shop located at No. 63 Zanetti Street is deserted. There are no customers in the shop except for an old man wearing a white coat, black-rimmed glasses, and a chubby man with a receding hairline, who is sitting lazily in a chair behind the counter full of glasses.

Upon seeing Connor's arrival, the portly old man immediately perked up, stood up from his chair, adjusted his black-rimmed glasses, and forced a smile onto his plump face as he asked Connor, "Sir, I'm Robbie, the manager of this eyeglasses shop. How can I help you?"

After surveying the optician's shop, Connor found nothing amiss. He then focused his gaze on the portly old man, Robbie. After staring intently at Robbie for a while, Connor was certain that the old man emanated no magical energy, suggesting he wasn't a wizard. After a moment's thought, Connor didn't waste any words and said to Robbie, "A woman named Isabella gave me this address and told me to come here!"

Hearing Connor's words, Robbie's expression remained unchanged, but Connor, as a first-level wizard, could clearly sense a strange glint in his eyes. Furthermore, Robbie's left hand, concealed by the counter, discreetly pulled a revolver from a hidden compartment. He could release the safety and fire in an instant, but it was unclear whether he intended to shoot the person in front of him or use it for something else, such as suicide to preserve the secret…

"My name is Connor Ferguson. I think your superior should have mentioned my name to you!" Connor said with a half-smile to the fat old man who called himself "Robbery."

Upon hearing Connor identify himself, Robbie's wariness towards Connor remained undiminished. However, after a few seconds, he looked at Connor and said in a deep voice, "You don't look like the person in the portrait!"

"Of course, if I came here in my true form, your place would probably be exposed!" Connor said calmly, with a clear hint of sarcasm in his words.

Upon hearing Connor's answer, the middle-aged, overweight man who called himself Robbie fell silent. After a dozen seconds, he said to Connor, "My superior told me that if you find this place, you should leave an address, and he will contact you!"

Hearing Robley's words, Connor's eyes narrowed slightly. The Royal Faction seemed even more cautious than he'd imagined. They didn't trust him. The old man who called himself Robley, whom he'd arranged to meet here, appeared to be nothing more than an outer circle member of the Royal Faction. Even if someone captured him, they probably wouldn't be able to get any valuable information out of him. Realizing this, Connor felt somewhat disappointed and said calmly, "Tomorrow night at nine o'clock, I'll have a private room at the Westcoron Bar waiting for you. No waiting for latecomers!"

After saying that, Connor didn't hesitate and turned to walk out of the room. The fat old man, Robelli, watched Connor leave. However, what Connor didn't expect was that after he walked away, a faint smile appeared on the fat old man Robelli's chubby face.

After leaving Arshavin's Eyes shop, Connor found his driver, White, who was waiting for him by the roadside for lunch. Connor was no longer in the mood to explore the city of Frosinone, so he simply paid White the remaining sixpence for the fare and had him take him back to the Grand Hotel Aguedero.

When Connor returned to his Earl's Suite on the fifth floor of the Grand Agudro Hotel, he found that Varga had already left, but Connor did not pay attention to this and began to meditate.

During yesterday's discussion, after he finished explaining his plan, Varga volunteered to help him with some of the work by finding a detective capable of investigating the Ferguson family. So, Varga's absence from the suite at this time likely means she has gone out to gather information on this matter!

Entering a meditative state, Connor silently began circulating the Abyss Secret Technique he had been cultivating. At this moment, in his mind's eye, a tiny black chain was tightly coiled around the magic crystal symbolizing a first-level wizard…
