Chapter 744 Arrival in Frosinone

Chapter 744 Arrival in Frosinone (2)

Regarding Varga's question, Connor carefully considered his words and explained to Varga telepathically, "Rune is a city primarily focused on industry, commerce, and maritime trade. It's a major trading hub connecting the Empire to the New World of Hoy, and its economic development level is among the best in the entire Kaman Empire. Therefore, its public facilities are also more advanced!"

"Flosinone is a traditional inland city in the empire, primarily agricultural. Compared to Rune, its economic level lags far behind. According to a joint announcement issued a year ago by the Imperial Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance, the entire city of Flosinone contributes a mere 100,000 gold pounds to the empire's finances, less than one-thirtieth of Rune's contribution. Didn't Finance Minister Akanji say that Flosinone's economic level is fifty years behind Rune's?"

"Therefore, the economic level dictates that Frosinone cannot undertake large-scale construction and public carriage projects like Rune. Moreover, because the hawkish Kebides family of the Odin Empire has been in power for years, they have continuously deployed heavy troops to the border, exerting military pressure on the Empire. The Empire has also had to deploy heavy troops to the border in response, carefully guarding against every move of the Odin Empire. Horses are an important strategic resource on the front lines. Including Frosinone, more than 90% of the horses in the northeastern cities have been requisitioned and transferred, so there is a severe shortage of horses, and people can only rely on rickshaws for transportation!"

After hearing Connor's explanation, Varga nodded in understanding. Seeing Varga's expression, Connor smiled indulgently. Although Varga studied medical school, she was still a highly educated person and grasped such simple economics concepts with ease!

After pulling for about ten minutes, White and the bronze-skinned rickshaw driver brought Connor and Varga to the entrance of a magnificent, sprawling six-story hotel. Wiping the sweat from his brow with a towel, White respectfully said to Connor, "Sir, we've arrived at the Agudero Grand Hotel!"

Connor glanced at the Grand Hotel Agudero before him, then nodded in satisfaction. He took out his wallet, opened it, and tossed two one-shilling notes onto the rickshaw, saying casually, "This is the fare for the two of us. Consider the extra a tip. I'm satisfied with your and your companion's work. If you want to continue serving me, come back here at ten o'clock tomorrow morning. I'll give you one shilling per person per day!"

After Connor and Varga finished speaking, they got off the rickshaw, picked up their suitcases, and headed toward the Grand Hotel Agudro not far away, leaving behind White, who was overjoyed at the two one-shilling banknotes, and the middle-aged rickshaw driver with bronze skin.

Connor and Varga walked together into the lavishly decorated Hotel Agudero. Connor specifically requested this hotel not because it was anything special, but simply because he had a strong impression of the Hotel Agudero in his memory, considering it to be the best-serviced hotel in all of Frosinone. So, Connor, who was not short of money, decided to make it his first stop in Frosinone!

"Hello, sir/madam, I'm Lautaro, a waiter at the hotel. How can I help you?"

As soon as Connor entered the hotel lobby, a handsome young waiter in the hotel uniform approached him and politely inquired:

"Accommodation! Give us an Earl's Suite!"

After sizing up the young waiter who introduced himself as Lautaro, Connor said calmly:

Upon hearing Connor mention an Earl's Suite, the waiter who identified himself as Lautaro was clearly surprised. He discreetly glanced at Connor and Varga before hesitating and saying, "Sir, our Earl's Suites at the Agudero Hotel require reservations at least a week in advance. Do you have a reservation?"

"I didn't make a reservation, but I'm willing to pay an extra 30%!"

As soon as the waiter finished speaking, Connor, without the slightest hesitation, immediately said:

In the Caman Empire, high-end luxury hotels like the Grand Hotel Agudro have a complete system for classifying suites. They name the suites according to noble titles, with the Duke Suite being the highest level and the Knight Suite being the entry level. The Grand Hotel Agudro has one Marquis Suite, five Earl Suites, ten Viscount Suites, and thirty Knight Suites.

The waiter who identified himself as Lautaro was right. Normally, Marquis-level and Earl-level suites do require advance booking. However, unlike Marquis-level suites where even money doesn't guarantee a stay, Earl-level suites can be booked even without a reservation, for an additional 30% if there are vacancies.

If Connor remembers correctly, the cost of a Count Agudro suite is one gold pound per day. Even with a 30% markup, staying there for a year or two would be nothing more than a drop in the ocean for Connor Ferguson's wealth!

Upon hearing Connor's willingness to increase the price, the brown-haired waiter Lautaro's eyes lit up. He realized that the young couple before him were big spenders, and his attitude immediately became even more humble and respectful. He whispered to Connor, "The Earl's Suite is beyond my authority. Please wait a moment while I contact my supervisor!"

After speaking, Lautaro bowed to Connor and Varga and walked towards an office behind the hotel reception. Just one minute later, Lautaro and a tall, good-looking middle-aged woman, also wearing a hotel uniform, walked out of the office and headed towards Connor and Varga!

"Hello, sir, I'm Stephanie, the lobby manager of the Agudro Hotel. May I ask your names?" The tall, middle-aged woman glanced at Connor and Varga before smiling and saying.

"My name is De Ligt, and this is my wife, Caitlin. We are willing to pay an extra thirty percent to stay in the Earl's Suite at the department hotel!" Connor repeated his request.

Upon hearing Connor's request, the middle-aged female manager, Stephanie, hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Since you understand the rules, that's good. We happen to have one Earl's Suite left, which hasn't been booked and can be offered to you. However, according to our hotel's regulations, you need to stay for at least a week and pay a deposit of one hundred gold pounds!"
