With a flick of his finger, the goatee-bearded old man accurately flicked the red pill into the black and white vase placed in the center of the secret room.

"clang!"

The red pill landed in the vase with a crisp sound. Within three seconds, a red mist with a strange fragrance drifted out of the vase and began to spread throughout the small, secret room.

The goatee-bearded old man seemed unsurprised by the appearance of the red smoke. He stood calmly in place, as if waiting for something.

Although they found parts of Eder's remains, after some deliberation, Eder decided not to tell Reyes. His reason was simple: the remains he found at the Oyar noodle factory—the upper half of old Victor's body—had suffered severe mutilation, abuse, and humiliation…

Given the decades-long master-servant relationship between old Victor and Reyes, Edel ultimately chose to conceal these matters from Reyes. This concealment did not mean that Edel had any ill intentions towards Reyes. In fact, having witnessed Reyes's extraordinary abilities to manipulate events, Edel had developed a sense of awe towards him. Furthermore, Reyes held the leverage that Edel had betrayed the Church of Storms, so Edel would never betray Reyes unless absolutely necessary.

As for why Eder chose to conceal the details of Old Victor's body from Reyes, it was because Eder was a smart man.
