"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!..."

Around the protective barrier surrounding Martina, one after another, crimson streaks of light exploded, producing deafening roars.

Without hesitation, Martina drew the bow, nocked the arrow, and shot it at the scarlet-masked man.

Whether it was due to excessive confidence in her attack, a return to reason indicating she shouldn't have used the weapon, or some other reason, in any case, after firing that arrow, Martina sheathed her green longbow and dashed into the woods on either side of the road, running for her life!

Faced with Martina's swift, airborne arrow, the scarlet-masked woman's eyes, visible beneath her eerie mask, revealed a grave expression. The arrow was simply too fast and too close; even if she wanted to dodge it, it would be impossible!

In a moment of haste, the scarlet-masked man pulled his hands together in front of him, and a thick shield of blood mist appeared not far away, precisely on the trajectory of the incoming arrow. The blood mist shield had barely been placed when the arrow struck, piercing through it and continuing its attack on the scarlet-masked man…

The next second, the scarlet-masked man clutched his shoulder, struck by the green arrow, and collapsed to the ground with a painful groan. "Margaret, are you alright?" Connor carefully helped the crimson-masked woman, Margaret, who had fallen to the ground, to her feet, asking with great concern. Margaret removed the eerie scarlet mask from her face, her complexion pale from blood loss. The dark green arrow Martina had shot was lodged in her shoulder. Hearing Connor's concern, Margaret shook her head and whispered to Connor beside her, "The arrow was poisoned, but don't worry, I'm fine!"

Upon hearing Margaret mention that the arrow was poisoned, Connor immediately became serious and began examining the wound on Margaret's shoulder from the arrow. After a moment, finding that Margaret was unharmed, Connor breathed a sigh of relief. Margaret was right; the arrow Martina had shot was indeed poisoned, and it was some kind of deadly snake venom. However, although the venom was potent, Margaret, perhaps due to her practice of blood magic, hadn't allowed the venom to spread through her body and thus hadn't caused her much harm. She would likely take an antidote, which should eliminate the poison.

"You rest for a bit. I'll clean up the scene now. We'll go back to our spot in a little while, and then I'll treat your wound and remove this iron arrow. This arrow is no ordinary weapon; it's extremely dangerous!" Connor solemnly instructed Margaret.

The poison on the arrow that struck Margaret's shoulder, while not currently causing any harm, was carefully examined by Connor because he had initially intended to use this type of arrow to determine its owner. He knew that while this type of arrow appeared ordinary and structurally similar to a regular iron arrow, it was actually deadly. A mishandling of it could cause severe bleeding from Margaret's shoulder wound…
