Chapter 649 Action

Chapter 649 Action

"Roberto, my future has nothing to do with you. I warn you, if you dare to meddle, I will not let you off!" With a cold glint in her beautiful eyes, Varga showed no mercy to her colleague Roberto.

Looking at Varga's cold expression, Roberto felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave. His heart sank, his eyes lost all light, and he shook his head in utter disappointment. He then said, "Varga, don't worry, I won't tell anyone about your affairs. But I think you understand, nothing stays hidden forever. Victor already has suspicions about your relationship with Connor Ferguson. You need to protect yourself!"

After saying this, Roberto didn't wait for Varga's reply and turned to leave. The door that Varga had sealed with her magic did nothing to stop Roberto from leaving.

Upon seeing this, Varga's beautiful eyes narrowed instantly. Gazing at Roberto's retreating figure as he walked out the door, a cold glint appeared in her eyes.

In the Kessado Park on the outskirts of Ruen.

Wearing a long black robe and a dark blue bowler hat, perfectly concealing his face, Connor sat on the branch of a century-old locust tree, resting with his eyes closed. He had arranged to meet someone here today.

Connor sat quietly and patiently on the computer, as if the person he was about to meet here was insignificant.

After waiting for about ten minutes, Connor suddenly opened his eyes without warning and looked to his right. There, several pigeons were flying away into the distance. Looking at the pigeons, a faint smile appeared on Connor's lips. He then took out his pocket watch from his pocket, looked at it, and then silently used his lightness skill to jump down from the tree branch and land on the ground, smiling as he looked to his right.

In the direction Connor was looking, Martina, who had been silently walking forward wearing a blue and white silk veil, seemed to realize that Connor had discovered her. She frowned slightly and thought for a moment, then decided to stop hiding and appeared in front of Connor.

"Long time no see!" Connor greeted her with a smile, taking a deep look at Martina's cold and beautiful face beneath her blue and white veil.

Martina seemed completely unimpressed by Connor's reaction. After glancing at him coldly, she said, "Speak! What exactly do you want from me?"

Connor, seemingly unfazed by Martina's cold attitude, shook his head and said, "Martina! You're overthinking it. My thoughts and the purpose of this meeting are clearly written in the secret letter I gave you. I've had enough of the assassins Old Victor has sent time and time again. I'm going to get rid of him once and for all!" As he finished speaking, a ruthless glint appeared on Connor's angular face, and his attitude became extremely resolute.

Upon hearing Connor's words, Martina did not reply immediately. Her gaze, through her veil, swept directly over Connor. Facing Martina's penetrating gaze, Connor, seemingly to demonstrate his determination to kill old Victor, did not flinch and met Martina's eyes in the same way.

Their eyes met for about ten seconds before Martina looked away first, ending the eye contact with Connor. Then, after a moment's hesitation, she said softly, "Valga must have told you something, right?"

Connor looked puzzled upon hearing this, seemingly having no idea why Martina would say such a thing.

After hesitating for a moment, Connor spoke to Martina, "What does my killing of old Victor have to do with Varga? I haven't seen Varga at all during this time."

"Really, you didn't meet?" Martina asked Connor with a half-smile, her tone suggesting she didn't believe him at all. Just as Connor frowned, about to say something more, Martina slowly continued, "If Varga hadn't told you that someone was pressuring old Victor to kill you quickly, and that old Victor hadn't begun to suspect Varga's relationship with you, Connor Ferguson, why would you suddenly want old Victor to strike first and kill him?"

Even though Connor was a man of deep cunning and rarely showed his emotions, he was still taken aback when he heard Martina's words. His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Martina, who was standing not far in front of him.

Seeing that Connor remained silent and looked at her, Martina continued, "Connor, whether Varga told you or not, I don't care. I only care about what's in your mind about me. Don't let anyone else know. Friendly reminder: you're not the only one who knows mind control. Although old Victor isn't a psychic wizard like you, he's been by the professor's side for so many years, and his understanding and practice of mental power is in no way inferior to yours!"

"Connor! I have a suggestion for you. If you still want to live, perhaps leaving Rune and living in anonymity would be a good choice!" Martina said with a light laugh. After saying that, she seemed to have no more interest in talking to Connor. Under Connor's gaze, she turned and left.

Watching Martina's departing figure, Connor's expression was as black as the bottom of a pot, extremely unpleasant. Just as Martina gradually disappeared from his sight from a small black dot, a mocking look suddenly appeared on Connor's face. He then took out a piece of paper from his pocket and wrote: "Action!"

Stepping out of Caesardo Park, Martina was in high spirits. She hailed a horse-drawn carriage and headed towards the center of Ruen.

Pulling back the carriage curtain and gazing at the beautiful natural scenery outside the window, Martina's cool and elegant face, hidden beneath her veil, naturally revealed a smile.

Martina felt that even the heavens were secretly blessing her success!

She had originally instigated Tusam to kill Varga, hoping to escalate the conflict between Connor and old Victor, so that Connor would team up with Margaret to kill old Victor, allowing her to reap the benefits. Her plan was brilliant, but reality proved harsh. Tusam, on whom she had placed such high hopes, not only failed to kill Varga, the apothecary, but even allowed her to escape alive to the Sensi Villa.
