Chapter 591 Anti-Magic Potion

Chapter 591 Anti-Magic Potion

Varga ignored Martina's blatant probing and remained focused on the secret letter emitting a faint purple smoke. After a moment, when the purple smoke dissipated, the true contents of the letter appeared clearly in Varga's view.

"Why do you need so many anti-magic potions?" After carefully scanning the contents of the secret letter, Varga casually burned it and then asked Martina with some doubt:

Varga's question didn't surprise Martina. She asked Varga in a low, calm voice, "Varga, what do you think the situation is? Would those monsters need so many anti-magic potions?"

Upon hearing Martina's words, Varga, who already had some premonitions, narrowed her beautiful eyes and her expression turned serious, as if she had already anticipated something ominous...

"When you go to see Connor later, tell him that old Victor doesn't plan to see him right now. Let him be prepared. I won't contact him for the next few days, and he shouldn't contact me either. This incident seems to have made that old guy Victor suspicious!" Seeing that Varga understood what she wanted to say, Martina nodded in satisfaction, then gave another instruction before getting up and leaving Varga's office.

"Vice Dean, Mrs. Carlos has some inflammation somewhere and would like you to take a look..." As Martina walked out of the office, Varga still hadn't said "next." The nurse in charge of seeing patients outside the examination room hesitated for a moment, then decided to quietly remind Varga:

The nurse's reminder startled Varga from her reverie. However, to the nurse's surprise, Varga didn't hesitate and immediately said, "Please apologize to Mrs. Carlos for me, tell her I have some urgent business to attend to and have to end my consultations early. Have Mrs. Carlos go see Dean Ivanka; Dean Ivanka is an expert in which type of inflammation!"

After saying that, Varga took off her white coat, changed into casual clothes, put on a white veil, and ignored the nurse who wanted to say something more. She immediately walked out of the office, and a minute later, Varga quietly walked out of an inconspicuous small door in the hospital.

Varga hailed a horse-drawn carriage waiting for fares by the roadside and said somewhat anxiously to the driver, "To number sixteen, Land Street, East District!"

"Alright!" the nearly fifty-year-old coachman said obsequiously. Having often driven around the area, he knew that the customers were all wealthy. He could secretly add a few pennies and they wouldn't mind. Once Varga was seated, the old coachman cracked his whip and spurred the horse forward.

A dozen seconds later, the carriage carrying Varga became a small black dot and disappeared on Avenue Joffre. What no one noticed was that a woman wearing a white veil was sitting in a café on the side of Avenue Joffre, leisurely drinking coffee, and had witnessed the whole scene.

"Is the magic of love really that amazing? Vargado is such a smart guy, yet he panicked so quickly upon hearing Connor was in trouble. It's quite amusing..." Martina murmured to herself, sipping her Blue Mountain coffee.

After saying that, Martina put down her coffee cup, slapped a five-pound note on the table, and quietly left.

Having just finished a late-night shopping spree at Empire Department Store, Connor, who was preparing to renovate his apartment himself, quietly entered the apartment. He wasn't going to give up on Ferguson Apartments for the time being, as he still planned to use it as his base of operations. Therefore, the interior of the apartment, which had been damaged by Alex Sandro, still needed to be renovated.

Quietly leaping over the apartment wall, Connor entered the building. However, upon opening the door, a look of surprise appeared in his eyes, and he said in a low voice with some doubt, "Valga, is that you in there?"

Before Connor's voice had even finished, a petite figure that Connor knew all too well rushed out of the darkness of the apartment and threw herself into Connor's arms.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Connor asked, somewhat surprised, looking at the clearly visible tear tracks on Varga's face.

"Connor, I'm so glad you're alright! Seeing your apartment in such a mess, I thought you'd been attacked by those monsters!" Varga wiped the tears from her face and said softly with concern.

"Those monsters? What do you mean?" When he heard Varga say that someone was going to attack him again, Connor felt his head was spinning. He hadn't had a moment's peace lately, with people always coming to cause him trouble. First, it was the Kararov couple, then Alex Sandro, Perrin, and Wanda from the Celta Cult. He had finally managed to have some peace and quiet, but now, judging from Varga's words, there was another group of monsters coming to mess with him?

He and Margaret had just dealt with the group from the Celta Cult, and Margaret wanted him to accompany her to take down old Victor. They absolutely couldn't cause any more trouble now!

"Three months ago, seven demonized knights arrived in Rune. Their leader, Tusam, is said to be incredibly strong, even stronger than an ordinary high-level wizard apprentice. These seven demonized knights are now under Old Victor's leadership, and their movements are extremely secretive; few have seen them. Today, Old Victor gave me a prescription for a large quantity of anti-magic potions, which means these demonized knights are about to make a big move!" Wiping away her tears, Varga whispered in Connor's arms.

"What is an anti-magic potion? What does it have to do with demonized knights?" Connor asked, somewhat puzzled. This wasn't the first time he had dealt with demonized knights, but it was the first time he had ever heard of an anti-magic potion.

"The anti-magic potion is a new type of potion that my wife Victor gave me a month before those demonized knights appeared. He asked me to prioritize studying this potion. As always, old Victor didn't tell me the purpose of this anti-magic potion, but based on its pharmacology, I know it has a very significant effect on delaying the demonization of the physical body. I haven't personally seen those demonized knights, but every time old Victor asks me for the anti-magic potion, those demonized knights will quickly mobilize after I deliver it!" Varga explained to Connor very seriously.
