Chapter 522 Mysterious Treasure
Chapter 522 Mysterious Treasure
Having already learned the auction list, Connor wasn't interested in the items being auctioned. He sat quietly in a corner of the auction hall, closing his eyes to rest. Connor's main focus was the wizards' gathering after the auction.
Perhaps because there wasn't much of value at today's auction, the auction proceeded very quickly, reaching its final item in just over an hour.
Under the watchful eyes of more than twenty wizards at the auction, the white-haired Alazov smiled mysteriously, then took out a crystal bottle from his spatial ring, held it in his palm, and showed it to the wizards present.
"Arazov, what is this? Didn't your list say that this last item was the Bastoni Staff, a top-tier first-tier enchanted item?" Sitting in the first row of the auction, an old man in a green robe whose face was obscured asked Arazov in a gloomy tone. This old fellow exuded the aura of a high-level wizard apprentice, which he made no attempt to conceal, and he looked like a ruthless character.
Alazov smiled apologetically at the old man and waved, then addressed the wizards in the hall, saying loudly, "Before auctioning this final item, I would like to apologize on behalf of Meazza Manor to everyone present! The Bastoni Staff, a top-tier Tier 1 enchanted item originally scheduled to be the final item in this auction, has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. I apologize to all of you!"
"What happened?"
"What a disappointment..."
"Does your Meazza have any credibility at all?"

As soon as Alazov finished speaking, the hall erupted in discontent and complaints. If Alazov hadn't possessed the cultivation of a peak advanced wizard apprentice, the hall would likely have already begun to launch personal attacks against him.
Sensing the commotion in the hall, Connor, who had been sitting in a corner with his eyes closed, waiting for the auction to end, slowly opened his eyes. His attention was now focused on the crystal bottle that Alazov was holding in his palm. Although Connor didn't know what was inside the crystal bottle, as an alchemist, he could still sense that the energy fluctuations emanating from it were very subtle and weak, indicating that it belonged to a first-tier enchanted item.
Using a Tier 1 enchanted item as a container—what extravagance! This alone shows just how precious the thing inside the crystal bottle must be.
Connor, standing in the corner, had a look of curiosity in his eyes. Having discovered the secret of the crystal bottle, his interest was piqued by what was inside.
Because it was their own mistake that led to the cancellation of Bastoni's staff, the elderly Alazov, despite his extremely grim expression, suppressed his anger and didn't vent it. He simply said loudly, "Everyone, quiet down, let me finish!"
Alazov may have practiced some kind of sonic magic, as his voice was extremely penetrating. With a single sound, the entire place fell silent, and everyone's attention was once again focused on Alazov.
The white-haired Alazov seemed quite satisfied with the effect, nodding slightly before saying in a deep voice, "I fully understand your indignation, but I must say that, to give you an explanation, I have specially taken this item from the treasury. I believe that this item in my hand will not disappoint you!"
After speaking, Alazov took out a pair of gloves made of ice silk from his spatial ring and put them on. Then he carefully removed the cap from the crystal bottle, and the next second, a strange fragrance wafted through the venue.
Upon smelling the delicate fragrance, Connor immediately realized what treasure was inside the crystal bottle. His eyes lit up, and he clenched his fists tightly. The presence of the strange fragrance was not only noticed by Connor; three or four people in the hall, including the green-robed elder who had just spoken, were also excited and their eyes lit up.
After releasing a little scent, Alazov put the cap back on the crystal bottle. This action, however, provoked the dissatisfaction of some impatient people in the room. Some of the more hot-tempered ones spoke up again, saying, "Alazov, what exactly is in the crystal bottle? Are you playing a trick on us? Why did you put it back on after just giving us a little scent?"
"That's right! Open the bottle and let us see what it is!" As soon as the man finished speaking, people in the hall immediately agreed. However, this time Arazov did not tolerate them. He snorted coldly, and the person who spoke and the person who echoed him were struck as if by lightning, their ears and noses bleeding.
"Mental attack? It seems this Alazov, though not a psychic wizard, is quite capable!" Connor thought to himself as he witnessed Alazov's attack.
"This treasure in my crystal bottle—those of you who can afford it can already recognize it by its scent. Those who cannot afford it have no need to know what it is! Also, I must say that this item is not sold in gold pounds, only in magic stones!" After reprimanding the person who had started the disturbance, Alazov said calmly:
As Alazov finished speaking, the hall fell silent. Some people who still didn't know what was in the crystal bottle, though curious, dared not ask because of what had happened before, and could only look at each other in bewilderment.
A minute later, the green-robed old man sitting in the first row broke the silence in the hall and spoke first: "This matter is of great importance, we need to see it with our own eyes!" This old man did not say "I" but deliberately said "we" and emphasized the word "we". It was obvious that he knew that he was not the only one in the hall who had sensed what was in the crystal bottle!
Having understood the green-robed elder's implication of "we," Alazov readily agreed, nodding and saying, "Of course! However, to prevent just anyone from getting involved, you'll need to pay ten magic stones to see the item in person! These ten magic stones are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, regardless of your satisfaction with the item or whether you place the order!"
