Chapter 516 Another Letter

Chapter 516 Another Letter

Connor and Varga made a pact that as soon as the jade pendant shone, they would go to the safe house to meet each other immediately.

Now that Varga is using this to contact him, it seems that the problem of the flight potion's mana consumption has been somewhat resolved, Connor thought to himself. Without thinking too much, he took out a brand new black robe from his spatial ring, put it on, and walked out of Ramsey Street, where the safe house was located, heading towards the place he had agreed to meet with Varga.

Connor was quick; twenty minutes later, he arrived at the door of the house and silently activated the magic circle around the room. Connor then entered the room and immediately spotted Varga inside. It seemed she had been waiting for him for some time.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Seeing the complicated expression on Varga's pretty face, Connor frowned slightly and asked. Varga's expression made Connor realize that it seemed that Varga's visit this time was not related to the mana consumption of the flight potion as he had imagined.

Upon hearing Connor's question, Varga immediately took out another letter from her spatial ring, handed it to Connor, and said, "They wrote to me again."

Varga's words immediately made Connor's expression turn serious. He took the letter Varga handed him and began to read its contents carefully.

"Dear Miss Antonella, I am very sorry that I did not see you in the Ural Villa District. Please believe me, I have no ill intentions towards you. I just want to complete a transaction with you. If you think my last letter was very presumptuous and impolite, then I apologize."

"Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Karalov. As my name suggests, I am a citizen of the Odin-descended Kaman Empire. As I can see, Miss Antonella, you are a genius apothecary. I believe you have already tested some of the knowledge recorded in the first half of the 'Selected Works of Pandev's Pharmacology' you possess. You should know the value of this knowledge. If you are interested in making a deal for the second half of the book, please write to No. 9 Passar Street, East District of Rune within seven days of receiving this letter. After seven days, I will leave Rune for the Imperial Capital to seek opportunities. I look forward to your reply!"

"Nine Passar Street..." Connor read the information on the letter carefully, muttering the address on the letter to himself. A strange look flashed in his eyes. This address, Nine Passar Street in the East District of Rune, was not far from where he lived, Sixteen Land Street. The straight-line distance on the map was only one kilometer.

"Connor, should I reply to this Kararov?" Seeing Connor deep in thought, Varga mustered her courage and asked him. Her tone was full of anticipation. Clearly, just like Mr. Kararov in the letter, Varga, who had experimented with the knowledge in the first half of the book, was very eager for the second half of "Selected Works of Pandev Pharmacology".

After glancing at Varga and then at the letter in his hand, Connor hesitated for a moment before nodding cautiously under Varga's gaze.

Having received Connor's smug approval, Varga was immediately overjoyed. However, before she could be too happy, she heard Connor continue, "Varga, you don't need to reply to their letter too soon. You have a week anyway."

Upon hearing Connor's words, Varga paused for a moment, then, recalling the return address Kararov had left on the letter, and having visited Connor's apartment several times, she immediately realized something. Her brows furrowed slightly as she tried to dissuade Connor, saying, "Connor... you don't need to do this..."

"Valga, don't worry, I'm telling you, I always plan before I act and I don't act rashly. You've probably noticed, too, that the reply address they gave this time is on Passar Street, which is so close to Rand Street where my apartment is. I'm really curious, what are they up to!" Seeing that Varga had figured out what he was going to do, Connor didn't try to hide it and nodded in admission.

"I'll go with you. With two advanced wizard apprentices together, we might even be able to put up a fight against a full-fledged wizard!" Varga looked at Connor with concern and said without hesitation.

Upon hearing Varga's suggestion, Connor's angular face immediately broke into a slight smile. He shook his head and said, "If we both go, wouldn't that be a direct confrontation? I'm not going to just barge in. Varga, have you forgotten that I'm a mental wizard and an alchemist? I'll use a combination of mental power and alchemical artifacts to probe this location. If you come with me, we'll both be too conspicuous!"

Connor's explanation seemed to have convinced Varga, and the worry on Varga's face lessened considerably. However, she still cautioned Connor, "Be careful. If the opponent is too strong, old Victor is at the Sensi Villa. And here's this for you!"

After speaking, Varga took out a bronze box with several runes on it from her spatial ring and handed it to Connor. After glancing at the bronze box, although Connor did not open it, he already knew exactly what was inside from the runes on it.

"I already have my second-tier top-tier enchanted item, the Castia Staff. This thing isn't very useful to me!" Connor politely declined Varga's offer of the bronze box.

"I didn't say I'd give it to you. I'm just lending it to you for now. I can't stop you from going anywhere, but I'll feel a little more at ease if you have this!" The stubborn Varga insisted on handing the bronze box to Connor.

After a moment of silence, Connor finally nodded, took the bronze box from Varga, and put it into his spatial ring. He then hugged Varga, gently kissed her smooth, fair forehead, and stroked her delicate nose. Under Varga's gaze, he walked out of the house. For Connor, now that he had made his decision, there was no time to lose; the sooner the better. Perhaps by observing earlier, he could discover something of value.
