Connor carefully stored the silver needles back in his spatial ring. He replaced the five hundred magic stones in the cave array with the new five hundred magic stones from the spatial ring, whose energy had been completely released. Then, he immersed himself in cultivation again in the cave where the energy from the new five hundred magic stones had been released. Breaking through to become an advanced wizard apprentice was not the end, but a brand new beginning. And the beginning of this beginning had to start with consolidating his cultivation level. He had spent so much effort to break through to this level. If something went wrong because of a mistake in consolidating his level, Connor felt that he would have nowhere to cry.

After spending another week in the cave to consolidate his cultivation, Connor finally emerged. All his safe houses were in Rune, and there were none outside of Rune. If something happened to Rune, he would have nowhere to stay if he escaped. Fortunately, this cave was very secluded and quiet, making it perfect as a safe house for him outside of Rune.

Back in Tunguska, Connor took the fastest steam train overnight back to Loen. After destroying the spiritual seed that Langley had attached to Epstein, he didn't return to his apartment in the East End, but went directly to his safe house in the countryside. Now that he had become a high-level wizard apprentice, it was time to go back and take a look!

Late at night, Connor, travel-worn and weary, arrived at Rand Street in the East End. However, instead of returning directly to his apartment, he hid among the two rows of large trees lining the street. Behind the trees, Connor, dressed in a black trench coat, narrowed his eyes and watched a dark corner of the street near his apartment. His spiritual sense detected that a somewhat thin, green-robed wizard was lurking there. This person's cultivation level was likely at the intermediate wizard apprentice level. Judging from the wizard's hiding place and his focused observation of his locked apartment, this person was probably monitoring his apartment.

Connor had to admit that the green-robed wizard who was monitoring his apartment was quite skilled. If he hadn't become a senior wizard apprentice and his mental strength had increased significantly, he, as a mid-level wizard apprentice, would have had a hard time finding this "rat" hiding in the corner, even with the silver pendant amplifying his mental strength!

Looking at the guy in his apartment who was intently monitoring him, Connor couldn't help but wonder, who sent this guy?

Connor's first suspicion fell on Lenglet, whose soul seed he had destroyed, but that was obviously impossible!

Although he had revealed his Castiel Staff, Undead Entanglement, and Mental Shock during his battle with Lenglet, he had never revealed his identity. Even if Lenglet was truly powerful enough to do something to him without him noticing, he shouldn't have sent someone to monitor his apartment. This was the first time he had returned to his apartment since his battle with Lenglet!

If this green-robed wizard wasn't sent by Lenglet, then it's highly likely that he was sent by that old codger Victor from the Secret Society. Margaret, Varga, and I have always maintained a one-way communication. Even if I'm not home, if they want to contact me, they should do so via secret letters, not by sending someone to watch over my apartment!

Although he had already determined that the "rat" was sent by the secret society, Connor still cautiously and quietly moved closer to the corner where the "rat" was. Perhaps because Connor's methods were so clever, or perhaps because he was too focused on monitoring the apartment where Connor was, the wizard only noticed him when Connor's mental energy locked onto him. But by then it was obviously too late, and Connor's mental attack had already hit him.

The green-robed wizard who was monitoring Connor's apartment was a level lower in strength than Connor. In addition, Connor's attack was a sudden attack without any warning, catching the green-robed wizard completely off guard. The wizard immediately started to "dance" on the spot, as if he were drunk!

Connor glanced at the guy with some surprise. He had thought that his mental attack would knock the guy unconscious on the spot, but now it seemed that since the secret society had sent him to monitor him, the guy must have some skills!

With a slight smirk, Connor delivered another mental shock. This time, the green-robed wizard stopped struggling and simply passed out, lying on the street.

After glancing around the street and confirming that no one else was around, Connor dragged the unconscious green-robed wizard back to his apartment.
