Wizard Earl

Chapter 342 Internal Struggle

Chapter 342 Internal Struggle

The grey-robed, masked man known as Langley, before anyone in the meeting room could ask why he was so certain the mysterious bomber was a mid-level wizard apprentice, let out a strange laugh and explained, "I encountered something like this as soon as I arrived in Rune, so naturally I was very interested. It just so happens that Mallorca and Rune aren't far, so I made a trip. After inspecting the explosion site, my little guy told me that there's an aura that doesn't belong to the church remaining in the rubble. Judging from the strength of this remaining aura, its owner should be a mid-level wizard apprentice!"

In the meeting room, Margaret, Ms. Lena, and Edel all seemed to know very well what Mr. Lenglet meant by "his little fellow," and they all agreed with Mr. Lenglet's discovery.

"Your Excellency Bishop Eder, I have come to Loen on the orders of Cardinal Hummels to take over the team of arbitrators here. So far, I have accomplished nothing, and I hope that Your Excellency will now give me this opportunity to demonstrate my abilities to my fellow members of the Loen Church!" Standing up from his seat, Mr. Langley addressed Eder, who was seated in the main seat. His words seemed to be a request to Eder, but neither his tone nor his attitude suggested any request at all.

Lengley's dismissive attitude immediately displeased Bishop Edel. Seeing this, Lady Leo smiled slightly and took over the conversation, saying, "How could a mere intermediate wizard apprentice trouble Lord Lengley? While our intelligence department's combat strength is naturally no match for Lord Lengley's Arbitrator team, dealing with an intermediate wizard apprentice is more than enough..."

Before Ms. Lena could finish speaking, Langley waved his hand again, interrupting her, and said confidently, "I certainly wouldn't personally deal with a mid-level wizard apprentice, but I did bring several capable people from the church headquarters with me to Rune this time. This cunning dark wizard is perfect for these young people. What do you think, Bishop Edel?" With that, Langley's gaze, hidden behind his mask, shifted again to Bishop Edel, who sat at the head of the table.

After giving Lenglet a deep look, which seemed to carry a hint of unease, Edel said in a deep voice, "Since you're so confident, Lenglet, then we'll leave this bomber matter to you. I hope you can bring back a satisfactory result! Meeting adjourned!"

"Your Grace, please rest assured, I will certainly not let you down. With me, Langley, here, Your Grace can rest easy regarding the security of Rune!" Langley said in a hoarse voice, his words carrying a double meaning. After speaking, he gave Edel a slight bow and then left the conference room.

Seeing Langley's arrogance, even with Eder's deep cunning, his aged face was so gloomy it seemed to drip water. Margaret, sitting at the back, seeing this "battle of the gods," very cleverly bowed to Eder and then quickly made her escape, fearing that she would be implicated!

"How many people did he bring?" With Margaret and Lenglet gone, only Ms. Lena and Edel remained in the meeting room. The cunning Edel revealed his ruthless side, asking Ms. Lena in a sinister tone:

Seeing that Edel hadn't lost his mind and was about to attack Langley, Lena secretly breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Four people, one high-level wizard apprentice and three mid-level wizard apprentices! However, all of them possess powerful enchanted items, and their strength surpasses that of ordinary wizards of the same level."

"Very good! Confirm the whereabouts of these four people!" A murderous glint flashed in Edel's eyes as he ordered Ms. Lena.

"Give me three days!" Although she knew exactly what Edel wanted to do, Ms. Lena did not refuse his request!

"Okay! Keep it a secret!" Edel was somewhat satisfied to hear that Ms. Lena only needed three days.

"Langre is a confidant of Cardinal Hummels and is also very powerful in the Church headquarters. He has always been regarded by the Church as the next Divine Punisher to be nurtured..." Ms. Lena looked at Edel and subtly pointed out his words.

In response to Lena's reminder, Edel smiled sinisterly, "Lena, you don't need to remind me. I know I'm old and can't beat this Langley anymore, otherwise I would have taught him a lesson earlier. But this isn't the church headquarters; this is Rune. I've spent most of my life here, and no one can defeat me here!"

Connor finished his day's training early and sat on his sofa, full of anticipation, waiting for Varga's arrival. Today was the day of his seven-day appointment with Varga. If everything went smoothly, he would not only gain a secret potion that could help him break through to become a high-level wizard apprentice, but also unravel the mystery of the "Mental Spring" potion, which was shrouded in many doubts.

"Ring ring!"

Time quickly passed from morning to evening, and Varga still hadn't appeared. Just as Connor was starting to worry that something might have happened, he sensed with his mental power a waiter in oversized work clothes struggling to carry a luxurious and enormous food box towards his apartment.

Connor frowned slightly in the apartment. The waiter and the food box he was carrying must have been there to deliver food, but if he remembered correctly, he hadn't ordered any food today!

"Ring ring!"

A waiter carrying a food box rang the doorbell of Connor's apartment building.

A cold glint flashed in Connor's eyes. Regardless of whether the waiter was strange or not, since he had already come to his house, it seemed he had no choice but to accept it!

Connor, with a hint of wariness in his heart, opened the apartment door and sized up the deliveryman.

"Hello, are you Mr. Connor?" The waiter, with a polite smile on his handsome face, inquired of Connor.

"That's right, I am Connor Ferguson!" Connor nodded in response. He did not sense any energy fluctuations from the waiter, who seemed to be just an ordinary person.

"Hello, Mr. Connor, this is Williams from Vivian's Restaurant. This is your dinner reservation. What do you think...?" the waiter said earnestly.
