Chapter 271 Decisive Action is Key

Before George could finish speaking, Connor waved his hand to interrupt him, then turned to Sophia with a half-smile, under the curious gazes of the surrounding crowd, and said, "Our Ferguson family and the Ranieri family are old friends. Uncle Desilio has returned to the Empire from the continent of Hoy, and as a descendant of the Ferguson family, it is only right that I come to congratulate him!"

Connor's explanation was perfectly acceptable, but Sophia didn't care about it. She was shocked by George, who was sitting next to Connor, his anger blazing as he stared at her. Although Connor didn't explicitly ask him to say anything, George knew exactly what Connor was asking. He glanced around warily, making sure no one else was nearby, before whispering to Connor, "Luckily, Connor, you reminded me to tell my mother the two guesses you gave me. My mother and I then split up to investigate. The day before yesterday, before I'd even made any progress, my mother secretly told me that she'd learned from the old man's secretary that my father hadn't gone to Lecce that day, but had gone to Frye!"

When George uttered the last three words, "Fry Town," a hint of desolation crept into his deep voice. He knew very well that his old man's clandestine actions were not simply to visit Olson. His purpose was very likely, as Connor had guessed, to test Olson's wizarding talent. And once Olson was found to have wizarding talent and became a wizard, what harm would that pose to George? "Those knights you keep should be protecting Olson!" After a moment of silence, Connor said calmly.

"I have four thousand gold pounds that I was planning to use to pay off my loan. If you need it, take it!" Connor said in a deep voice, patting George on the shoulder. He knew very well that although George was very rich, much of his money was in the account of their family business, Sanchez Bank.

The old man in their family had arranged for a group of knights secretly kept by the family to protect Olsen. To eliminate Olsen completely, they needed to hire skilled individuals, and hiring such individuals wouldn't just cost a few thousand gold pounds; it would start at tens of thousands of gold pounds…

And most importantly, once Olson dies, without leaving any clues at the scene, George's father, Mr. Harvey, will know that George did it.
