Chapter 211 Witnesses of Miracles!

"This is for you. Try it on and see if it fits!" Connor, expressionless, opened the door to the room where he had imprisoned Averova and tossed a necklace to her.

In the days following his return to his rented apartment, Connor ignored Averova, whom he had captured, immersing himself in his own world, absorbing knowledge from alchemical materials, and constantly conducting experiments.

"What is this?" Avilova's eyes flashed with wariness as she looked at the necklace in Connor's hand. After being captured by Connor, she thought she was quite beautiful and originally thought that Connor would "have ulterior motives" towards her. "Want to go take a look?" Connor asked casually, noticing the change in Averova's expression. Although his tone was questioning, it left no room for refusal.

"Can I refuse?" Averova raised an eyebrow and said irritably;

"No!" Connor nodded firmly.

"Then let's go!" Avirova wasn't a fool; she knew very well that since Connor had given her this necklace, there was no way she could refuse.

He led Avilova to the reed beds at the edge of Lake Mercedes that he had found. Avilova was clearly very surprised by the location. She frowned and said to Connor, "This is where you found the magic stone mine? Why is there resentment here?"

"Surprised?" Connor placed his magic wand into the reeds, sensing the changes in the underwater array as he answered Avilova's question. "There's a magic array beneath these reeds. When I first discovered it a few days ago, I thought its only function was concealment. Luckily, I was cautious and didn't activate it immediately. Avilova, can you guess what's hidden beneath these reeds?"

At this point, a faint hint of pride appeared on Connor's face. Clearly, his research behind closed doors these past few days had given him a new understanding of this magic array!

Before Avilova could ask, Connor blurted out, "Although this magic circle is set up in a very ordinary way, it must be said that it is a brilliant idea. The magic circle under this layer of reeds has the functions of stabilization and circulation. It uses magic power to act as a skeleton, stabilizing the sand and lake water of the reeds, while circulation brings air down below!"

Although this place is in a remote location on Lake Mercedes, it's inevitable that people will come here. So, to attract people, the person who set up the formation created so much resentment here!" Connor said excitedly with a smile on his face.

"Aren't the people who set up this formation afraid of attracting the attention of the Storm Church and the Metropolitan Police Department?" Hearing Connor's explanation, Averova was taken aback and immediately asked:

"That's a good question, but you have to understand, this is Tunguska City! A small city with a population of just over ten thousand. The Metropolitan Police Department and the Church of Storms have no arbitrators or wizards here. And most importantly, this underwater magic circle both generates resentment and restricts it, preventing it from becoming vengeful spirits. Right now, this resentment is attached to living people, and its only effect is to make them sick and unable to recover. Nothing more! This is by the lake, and if someone falls ill here, people will just assume it's a common cold and never come back. Do you think those busy church and police bigwigs will even notice such a reasonable situation?" Connor's words were full of sarcasm at the end.

At this moment, Averova was so shocked by Connor's words that her rosy lips remained closed for a long time, forming an "O" shape.

Connor nodded in satisfaction at Averova's shock. When he first realized the situation, his expression was no better than Averova's!

"If nothing unexpected happens, this is the magic stone mine. It's covered by the lake mud and sand above the reeds. How about it? Interested in being the first witness to this miracle?" Connor looked at Avilova with a half-smile, but there was no smile in his eyes.

Averova wasn't fooled by Connor's words. She gritted her teeth and said to Connor, "You're a bastard, making a weak woman like me pave the way for you!"

Seeing that Averova had seen through his true intentions, Connor, with his thick skin, felt no embarrassment whatsoever. Instead of being ashamed, he said with pride, "Thank you for the compliment! Get ready, I'm about to activate the magic circle!"

After saying that, Connor had a thought and released a portion of Avilova's magic seal. Although Connor had great confidence in his judgment, he was always prepared for the worst. So, it was naturally Avilova, the wizard Connor had captured, who was now in charge of releasing a portion of her magic seal. This was for this very reason, since he had sent Avilova to scout ahead, not to send her to her death!

Having regained some of her magic power, Averova's slender, beautiful eyes showed a hint of relief. However, she was afraid of killing two birds with one stone: having her pave the way for him while also taking the opportunity to kill her!

After dealing with Avilova, Connor focused all his attention on the magic circle. Although he had used the magic circle under the reeds as a model and analyzed it several times on the auxiliary chip in the past few days, and was confident that he had a thorough understanding of it, Connor was still full of apprehension because there were so many intricacies to this magic circle.

After examining the magic array under the reeds with his magic-detecting staff and confirming that there were no abnormalities, Connor solemnly took out four magic flags covered with mysterious runes from his spatial ring and planted them around the reeds according to some mysterious pattern!
