Chapter 153 Farewell!

Chapter 153 Farewell!

After talking with Connor, Margaret, Leonie, and the others did not stay long at Connor's apartment and quietly left.

After carefully checking his apartment and finding no signs of tampering with it by Margaret, Connor sat cross-legged on his bed, took out the Spirit Nourishing Bead that Margaret had lent him from his spatial ring, and began to heal his mental trauma.

According to the analysis of the auxiliary chip, it is wishful thinking to rely solely on the Nourishing Spirit Pearl to treat Connor's current mental trauma. However, the Nourishing Spirit Pearl can have a gentle nourishing effect, preventing Connor's condition from worsening while there is no effective treatment available.

After more than an hour of treatment, Connor found a comfortable position and lay down on his soft bed. His thoughts naturally wandered, and he began to recall the whole story that Margaret had told him.

What Margaret said is probably true. Judging from her sources, what she told me was probably an internal church statement, while the message Reyes sent me was probably from the Secret Society.

One of these two statements must be wrong; one of them is lying. So, who is lying?

With this question in mind, Connor rested for a night, ate some bread the next morning, and then boarded a horse-drawn carriage to Green University.

They soon arrived at Reyes' villa. Connor gently knocked on the door and heard that familiar, gentle voice: "Come in!"

As usual, Connor went straight to the study upon entering the villa, where he saw the refined man sitting behind the desk, smiling at him.

Connor was filled with mixed emotions, but on the surface, he still bowed slightly respectfully and said, "Greetings, Mentor!"

Reyes looked Connor over carefully, then smiled and gestured to the sofa beside him, saying, "Sit!"

Following Reyes's instructions, Connor sat down on the sofa, but being cautious, he only sat on half of his buttocks, still maintaining an air of being ready to listen to instruction.

"Old Victor and I have left Rune!" Reyes said leisurely, glancing at Connor.

Connor was not surprised to hear Reyes say this. Reyes had orchestrated the explosions of Storm Cathedral and Nantes Manor, killing many of Storm Church disciples, including a Punisher of the Storm Church. Given the Storm Church's harsh treatment of dark wizards, they would undoubtedly hunt Reyes down once they learned of his whereabouts.

As long as the Church of Storms stands, Reyes will have no choice but to leave Rune and flee for his life after this incident!

While not surprised that Reyes was leaving, Connor was still somewhat unsure how to respond. After carefully considering his words, Connor respectfully said, "Master's divine might is truly admirable!"

"Hahaha, Connor, you really know how to talk!" Reyes pointed a finger at Connor and laughed heartily upon hearing Connor's compliment.

"I'm clearly running away. This matter has gotten a bit out of hand, and with Abidal's demise, if I don't leave, I'm afraid those old fogies in the church will come looking for me in Rune..." After laughing, Reyes didn't hide the reason for his departure.

"This time, barring any unforeseen circumstances, I won't be back in Rune anytime soon. I've taken care of everything else, but the only thing I'm a little worried about is you, Connor!" Reyes said earnestly, staring at Connor.

"You are currently at a crucial stage of breaking through from a junior apprentice to an intermediate apprentice, and as your mentor, I am unable to provide timely guidance due to these reasons. I must admit that I have been somewhat negligent. However, this is for the best, as every wizard must walk their own path. This diary contains some of my cultivation insights recorded during my apprenticeship! If you have any cultivation difficulties, you may find the answers in this diary!" As Reyes spoke, a thick book floated in front of Connor without any warning.

Connor solemnly took the diary with both hands, stood up, bowed deeply to Reyes, and then declared, "I will never forget my mentor's great kindness!"

Connor's statement deepened Reyes's smile. He nodded, pondered for a moment, and said, "If you encounter any emergencies or problems that you can't handle on your own during this period, you can write a letter and put it in the mailbox of this villa. Someone will help you!"

"Thank you so much, mentor!" Connor said again, expressing his gratitude after hearing how well Reyes had arranged things.

Seemingly remembering something, Connor looked ashamed and apologized to Reyes, saying, "I'm sorry, Master, I'm not very talented and haven't yet broken through to become an intermediate wizard apprentice. I'm unable to complete the task you assigned me to make the Castilian Staff!"

Reyes waved his hand casually and said, "You've only been in the wizarding world for a short time, and your skill level is already quite impressive. I didn't say you had to finish making the Castia Staff right now. You can complete this assignment when you become an intermediate wizard apprentice..."

"Understood!" Hearing Reyes say this, Connor felt relieved and replied in a deep voice:

"Since I didn't let that little girl Varga leave Rune, I naturally didn't intend to stop you two from meeting. As long as you two don't meet too often in private and keep it discreet, you two are both very talented and are the future pillars of the Secret Society!" Reyes' tone became somewhat sarcastic when he got to this point.

Upon hearing Reyes bring up the issue, Connor immediately became somewhat embarrassed and quickly said, "Mentor, I'll be careful!"

"Well, besides these, there's also the fact that Edel has been searching quite aggressively lately in order to climb the ranks. Be careful not to let him discover anything! You've confessed everything you need to, and there's nothing else. Connor, you can go now!" After saying everything, Reyes picked up the teacup on his desk.

"Goodbye, mentor!" Connor rose again and bowed deeply to Reyes. After standing up, Connor hesitated for a moment, then said to Reyes again, "Mentor, please also say goodbye to Butler Victor for me!"

"Okay!" Reyes readily agreed.

After nodding again, Connor left the study and departed the villa.

Reyes took a sip of his black tea, glanced at an empty wall in the study, and said with a hint of teasing, "So, is the little guy saying goodbye?"
