Chapter 146 King vs. King!!!

Chapter 146 King vs. King!!! (Part Two)

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!..."

Seemingly wary of the so-called "replica of the Abyss Staff" in Reyes's possession, Abidal took advantage of Reyes's verbal sparring and launched a preemptive strike, silently unleashing a storm of energy around him towards Reyes.

With a slight smile still on his refined face, Reyes waved his staff slightly, and three enormous skull phantoms appeared in mid-air. Under Reyes's control, the three enormous skull phantoms opened their mouths as if they were alive, and a silent shriek suddenly resounded. The storm cyclones that Abidal had used to attack Reyes were immediately shattered into nothingness by the sound waves.

Sensing the appearance of the shriek, Abidal's expression became even more solemn. He hurriedly took out a pendant engraved with the image of the storm goddess Semel Rolin from his spatial ring, put it around his neck, and finally breathed a sigh of relief before continuing to chant.

Seeing Abidal's actions, Reyes chuckled and said somewhat sarcastically, "Mr. Punisher of Gods, if the Tear of the Goddess Pendant could block the Wraith's Voice of the Abyss Staff, then the Wraith's Voice wouldn't have such a great reputation..."

Abidal ignored Reyes's teasing and continued his chanting. As he chanted, the storm vortexes that had been shattered by Reyes's necromantic chants mysteriously reappeared. Moreover, accompanied by Abidal's chanting, these storm vortexes arranged themselves neatly, forming a mysterious runic array around Reyes.

"Interesting!" The changes around him did not affect Reyes's expression at all. On the contrary, he clapped his hands and laughed, praising Abidal!

Reyes stood amidst the runes, examining the magic circle beside him with great interest. He said loudly, "Mr. Abidal, you truly live up to your reputation as a veteran divine punisher of the Storm Church. I never imagined the Church's Storm Magic Circle had been cultivated to such a level; it's truly admirable!"

"I am an alchemist, and I also have some experience in the art of magic arrays. I'll use my mental magic array to test your storm magic array against me!"

As soon as Reyes finished speaking, a massive surge of spiritual energy appeared in the center of the rune array. Reyes, the instigator of all this, wiped the smile from his face, slapped his staff, and countless seemingly chaotic yet subtly ordered black rays of light spread out from the staff. These rays struck the rune array, piercing it with numerous tiny holes.

Abidal's eyes narrowed, his face turned serious, and with a flick of his hand, sixteen enormous tornado pillars appeared out of thin air from the rune array that had been surrounding Reyes. These pillars, carrying countless wind blades, swept towards Reyes, who was located at the center of the array.

Reyes snorted coldly, and the three gigantic skull phantoms floating in mid-air opened their mouths again, unleashing devastating necromantic roars. Even more astonishingly, the black light emanating from the piercing rune arrays seemed to be guided by the necromantic roars, spreading out to construct a faint, indistinct black magic circle.

The tornadoes and pillars of wind, wreathed in blades of wind, were instantly and silently annihilated the moment they entered the black magic array's domain, without even a splash...

At that moment, something even more worrying happened to Abidal. Under the attack of Reyes's Wraith Voice, the Goddess's Tear pendant that he had just put on his neck developed a crack. Although the crack was small, it was very clear, clearly reminding Abidal that it could not hold on for much longer!

Abidal gritted his teeth slightly and took out a crystal ball the size of a rubber ball from his spatial ring. Exposing it to the air, the crystal ball that Abidal had taken out seemed to have a spirit, obediently appearing in mid-air in front of Abidal.

A large hand rested on the crystal ball. The remaining hair on Abidal's balding head was so thick that it resembled a menacing beard. His expression was solemn as he solemnly recited in perfect Byzantine: "In accordance with the will of the Storm Goddess, I summon the water elementals in Her name..."

Seeing Abidal's actions, Reyes, hidden within his mental array, chuckled again and said in a low voice, "What, are you going to fight to the death already?"

Even with Abidal's composure, a hint of helplessness appeared in his eyes when he saw Reyes teasing him again and again. However, he still continued to chant, meticulously reciting each word.

The atmosphere became particularly strange at this moment. Abidal's chanting was not as short and swift as usual, which would allow the spell to be cast faster. Instead, he seemed like an apprentice who had just started learning magic, very serious, afraid that he might mispronounce a word, which made him sound a bit verbose.

Reyes, hidden within his own mental array, did not, as was normal, preemptively attack Abidal before he could unleash his ultimate move, thus preventing it from being launched. Instead, he appeared very patient, seemingly waiting for Abidal's ultimate move to arrive.

Seeing that Reyes showed no intention of launching a preemptive attack, Abidal's eyes flashed with helplessness once again. He simply stopped chanting and pointed at the mental array where Reyes was hiding. Four pale blue elemental giants appeared in his rune array and rushed into Reyes' array.

With the intrusion of the elemental giant, Reyes's mental array immediately underwent a dramatic change. Black light burst forth from within the array, clearly indicating that Reyes had been prepared for Abidal's sudden attack.

The four water elemental giants rampaged through Reyes's mental array, but they themselves were riddled with holes by the black light within the array.

Just as the situation became somewhat deadlocked, and the cracks in Abidal's Tear of the Goddess pendant were increasing, Reyes's expression shifted. About three seconds later, Abidal's expression also changed. They both sensed a somewhat weakened level two wizard rapidly approaching them…

Abidal and Reyes exchanged a glance and tacitly ceased their attacks.

As the aura reached him, Abidal's surprise turned into ecstatic joy.

The second-level wizard rapidly approaching them was none other than Jovic, whose face was pale, but who was holding a bloodied head in his hand…
