Wizard Earl

Chapter 131: One slap, one sweet treat!

Chapter 131 A slap followed by a sweet treat!

Brushing the dust off the box, Connor opened it with both hands. Looking at the black hexagonal crystal inside, Connor's expression became excited.

That's right, this is what he's looking for—a Soul Crystal!

While still at the hotel, Connor used his mental power to search the soul and discovered this secret. Soul crystals are a top-grade material for replenishing mental power. In the fat manager's memory, Connor knew that this person was from Alizon, an undercover agent planted in downtown San Jose by a gang called the De Jong Society on San Jose Island, mainly responsible for selling stolen goods. After obtaining this soul crystal through trickery and force, this person did not know what a soul crystal was, only that it was extremely precious. However, due to the nature of his work, he was afraid that his home would be raided by the church and the police at any time, so he dared not keep the soul crystal with him and entrusted it to his brother-in-law for safekeeping.

Connor just gave Margaret two choices, but in reality, no matter which one Margaret chose, Connor would have brought her here anyway, just with different excuses...

Having confirmed that the Soul Crystal was safe, Connor immediately put it into his own spatial ring, walked out of the room, and glanced at the three people he had knocked unconscious in the tower as if they were dead. With a thought, Connor woke them up.

These three are definitely going to die, but they can't die yet. Margaret needs sailors for the ship she got. It's not too late to kill them after we leave San Jose Island and return to Rune...

"Who are you? We have Pablo protecting us..." To Connor's genuine surprise, these three men, after waking up, did not kneel down and beg for mercy, but instead dared to threaten him!

"Hmph!" Connor snorted coldly, and the three men immediately felt dizzy, as if their heads were about to explode. They covered their heads and rolled on the ground.

Seeing the chaotic scene before him, Connor nodded in satisfaction and then stopped using his powers. With his current mental strength, he could only use this kind of mental intimidation on these ordinary people once. He couldn't use it too many times, otherwise these people would either die from bleeding from all seven orifices or have their minds shattered and become crippled!

"You guessed right, I am the wizard, so remember not to try anything funny with me. You'd better remember what I'm about to say, or I'll make you understand that death is a luxury!" Facing the three thugs' fearful eyes, Connor spoke calmly.

"Horse your horse and follow me!"

Upon hearing Connor's order, the three thugs looked at each other, then, succumbing to Connor's tyranny, they followed him out of the tower dejectedly.

With the three bandits under his control, Connor rode his horse toward the meeting place he had arranged with Margaret. Although he was confident that they would not dare to act recklessly after he had revealed his wizard identity to them, Connor still secretly focused his mental energy on the three men in order to be cautious. If anything happened to them, he would have nowhere else to turn for the sailor!

Four legs are faster than two legs, and before long Connor arrived at the place he had arranged to meet Margaret. At that moment, Margaret was standing on a large ship in the bay, anxiously waiting for his arrival.

Upon seeing Connor riding towards them on horseback with three men, Margaret's anxious expression visibly eased.

"Sorry for the delay!" After escorting the three people onto the boat, Connor said apologetically to Margaret. The three had been very well-behaved the whole way, not daring to say anything to Connor. However, although he had the fat manager's memories as a guide, he had taken some detours because he wasn't familiar with the area, and he was now about ten minutes late.

"Ten minutes is no problem, as long as they're here!" Margaret glanced at the three men Connor had brought in and said, "Can all three of them drive a boat? I just took a look; this boat is quite old and very difficult to maneuver!"

"We'll open it!" Before Connor could even ask them a question, the burly man Connor had first knocked out in the tower spoke up, his face full of a fawning smile, like a wagging-tailed lapdog.

"Oh? You guys really know how to sail?" Connor's eyes were sharp as he swept them over the muscular man. Although he figured that since these guys were assigned to look after the ship, they must know how to sail it, Connor was still overjoyed to hear that they could actually sail it.

"Yes, yes, yes! This ship is the Celta Shipyard's No. 13 transport ship, a model from twenty years ago. It's difficult for anyone to operate it now, but we've been sailing around the sea doing business for almost five years, and the few of us can definitely handle it!" Hearing Connor's question, the burly man immediately nodded and hurriedly said, afraid that Connor wouldn't believe him.

After exchanging a glance with Margaret, Connor pondered for a moment and said, "We brought you here, and I believe you know what we want you to do. Take us to Rune, and we'll let the three of you leave. If all goes well, we two wizards might even bestow upon you three mortals some benefits that prolong your lives..."

Upon hearing the words "prolong life," the three bandits, who had just been dejected and looking utterly dejected, immediately perked up. Their six eyes gleamed as they exclaimed, "Master Wizard, we frequently sail this boat between Rune and San Jose Island. There's absolutely no problem; you can rest assured!"

Connor and Margaret exchanged a smile, knowing that things had gone well!

It has to be said that sailing a ship is a job that requires professionals. These three bandits captured by Connor were indeed experts in this field. In no time, the ship was sailing on the stormy sea.

"Connor, you truly live up to your reputation as the Earl's heir! You're incredibly skilled at this tactic of slapping someone and then offering them a sweet treat!" Margaret exclaimed to Connor beside her, standing on the ship's deck.

"It's just a small skill, I'm afraid I'll only embarrass Pastor Margaret!" Connor replied with a smile, enjoying the slightly salty sea breeze.

The promises of letting them leave and extending their lives were all empty promises Connor made to keep the three men from having any ulterior motives and to ensure they worked diligently. They were impossible to fulfill. If there were truly any benefits to extending lifespan, Connor would have used them on himself first!
