Looking at Reyes's gentle smile and sensing that Reyes was in a good mood, Bispin hesitated for a moment, then mustered his courage and asked, "Professor, what should we do next?"

Upon hearing Bispin's question, Reyes' smile faded slightly. His calm gaze swept over Bispin, and that simple glance sent a chill down Bispin's spine. Just as he was about to apologize to Reyes, Reyes slowly spoke, "Have you observed the movements of the Church's other deployments within Frosinone?"

"Yes, I've observed that, apart from a small number of arbitrators who went to Warehouse No. 3, the Church's main force remains in place, sticking to their existing deployment!" Bispin quickly said.

Upon hearing Bispin's answer, Reyes raised an eyebrow slightly and said with some emotion, "Christant is quite capable, actually managing to figure out what I wanted to do..."

As soon as Reyes finished speaking, Bispin seemed to realize something from Reyes's remark, and a look of surprise flashed in his eyes.

Just then, Reyes seemed to sense it. A smile returned to his refined and handsome face. He stood up from the recliner and said to Bispin, "Let's go to Southgate. He came out of the lab; he should have good news for us!"

After saying that, Reyes led the slightly puzzled Bispin to the basement of the villa. The basement, which contained all sorts of alchemical artifacts, was filled with a black and white mist with a pungent smell.

After observing the mist for a moment, Reyes narrowed his eyes. The next second, Southgate, looking extremely tired and with bloodshot eyes, walked out and handed Reyes a black and white jade box with a wry smile.

"Although there are still some minor flaws, it basically meets your requirements, Professor." Looking at the black and white jade box, Southgate said with a somewhat complicated expression:

Reyes took the jade box from Southgate, placed his hand on it, and squinted as he examined it. After a few seconds, he nodded in satisfaction, then glanced around at Bisping and Southgate beside him, and said calmly, "I think you two are very curious about what I'm trying to do..."

As soon as Reyes said this, both Bispin, who was standing behind him, and the exhausted Southgate perked up and focused their attention on Reyes, waiting for what he would say next.

Upon hearing Reyes's words, both Bispin and Southgate were taken aback, utterly bewildered. Logically, if Reyes wanted to break through, shouldn't he have found a secluded place to heal his injuries first, then diligently cultivated in preparation? Why was he making such a fuss in Frosinone?

Although he could sense the deep confusion in Bisping and Southgate's hearts, Reyes seemed uninterested in explaining his reasons to them, and instead uttered a meaningful statement:

"I thought I knew it well enough, but it wasn't until then that I realized I was far from it. I needed to experience terror firsthand before I could become terror."

In southern Frosinone, on Via Di Marzio, the main thoroughfare leading into the city, squads of heavily armed soldiers have set up checkpoints to inspect people passing through.

"Hello, routine identity check upon entering the city. Please show your identification!" A middle-aged military officer in charge of the checkpoint said to a young couple sitting in a carriage who were being checked.

Upon hearing the officer's question, the young couple in the carriage exchanged a glance, then did not refuse the officer's request. The young man took out two documents from his pocket and handed them over, then asked with some curiosity, "Why are we suddenly being checked when we enter the city? We didn't have one when we left Frosinone a while ago."

While checking the young couple's identification, the middle-aged officer casually remarked, "We weren't told why we're being asked to check pedestrians' identities."

After speaking, the middle-aged officer looked up at the well-dressed, elegant young couple in the carriage. Perhaps sensing their wealthy and influential status, the officer didn't conduct any further checks. He simply returned their identification and saluted them, saying:

"Please keep your documents safe. Thank you for your cooperation!"

"Thank you for your service!"

The young man in the carriage took his identification back from the middle-aged officer and politely said that he had removed his hat to the officer before driving the carriage away from the border and heading towards the city of Frosinone.

After driving three streets away from the checkpoint, the quiet, gentle woman who had remained silent in the carriage suddenly spoke up: "Connor, there are church members in that shop not far from the checkpoint!"

Upon hearing Margaret's voice, Connor, who was driving the carriage, nodded slightly and said, "Two intermediate wizard apprentices, one advanced wizard apprentice, plus the Eye of the Storm!"

"And the Eye of the Storm?" Margaret asked, somewhat surprised.

After saying that, she seemed to understand something and murmured, "No wonder the checks are so lax. It turns out that setting up checkpoints to check the identities of pedestrians is just a cover. The real purpose is to use the checkpoints to buy time so that the Eye of the Storm can take effect..."

"That's right, it seems something must have happened in Frosinone while we were gone!" Connor said slowly, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Since they had decided to meet Elena, Connor's original plan to return to Frosinone with De Zelby was meaningless. So after discussing it again, Connor and Margaret decided not to delay any longer and rushed back.
