Wizard Earl

Chapter 1098 Reinforcements

"Who is this person you're talking about, Margaret?" Hearing Margaret's words, realizing there was still a chance, Connor's heart stirred, and he immediately asked in return.

Without directly answering Connor's question, Margaret's pretty face lit up with a sly smile as she said, "Connor, who did I just talk to?"

Recalling what Margaret had just told him, Connor immediately realized what was going on and asked, somewhat puzzled, "Margaret, didn't you say that Elena went to cause trouble for Reyes? How come you're saying she's in Frosinone now? Does that mean Reyes came to Frosinone...?"

Connor's voice trailed off towards the end. He believed that Reyes, who had been severely injured by McKenney, a third-level wizard of the Earth God Cult, would only come to Frosinone when the Church of Storms was focused on its power. However, regrettably, Connor knew the answer from Margaret's calm expression.

"The church leadership has received very reliable information that Reyes is injured and will arrive in Frosinone soon, or even possibly already!" Margaret whispered.

Margaret's voice, though not loud, struck Connor's heart like a heavy hammer, causing a turbulent mix of emotions within him. Although he had always regarded his mentor Reyes as his hypothetical rival, after so many years, the thought of possibly meeting and confronting Reyes made Connor inevitably nervous, and he wasn't entirely confident.

Seeing Connor deep in thought, Margaret continued, "Although Elena didn't tell me, I can basically confirm through my other sources within the Church of Storms that the church's higher-ups are taking this matter very seriously. In addition to Elena, other Divine Punishers will be sent to Frosinone, but it's still uncertain who exactly."

"Although I don't yet have more classified information about the Church's personnel deployment in Frosinone, given Reyes's injury, now is truly the best opportunity to eliminate him if he shows up in Frosinone. If Connor wants to take this opportunity to get rid of Reyes, then meeting with Elena might not be a bad idea!"

"Connor, don't worry, Elena won't mind that you killed Milik. I've already made it very clear to you. Elena and Hummels are irreconcilable enemies because of the competition for the next pope. And Milik, whom you killed, was Hummels' staunch lackey. So even if Elena doesn't know yet that you, Connor Ferguson, killed Milik, she might actually be happy about it!" Margaret advised Connor.

A minute after Margaret finished speaking, Connor snapped out of his reverie, looked up at Margaret, and asked, "Do you want me to meet with Margaret?"

"I just think that Connor, you and Elena now share common interests. You both want Reyes dead. Once Reyes is dead, Connor, you will be free from this major threat, and Elena can also use Reyes' death to greatly enhance her prestige within the church and increase her chances of competing with Hummels for the next pope."

"Connor, the choice is yours. I'm just offering you an opportunity to choose!" Sensing the subtle probing in Connor's words, Margaret frowned slightly as she explained:

Connor nodded upon hearing this, carefully considered his words, and said, "Margaret, you know this is a very important matter, and I think I need to think about it carefully..."

"No problem, Connor, I'll be with you no matter what!" Sensing the slight hesitation in Connor's words, Margaret grasped Connor's hand and said firmly to him:

In an unassuming villa at Mensacca Estate, outside Frosinone.

Elena was sitting opposite a very burly-looking, blond middle-aged man wearing a light red robe, their bodies pressed together.

They were talking intimately.

"Elena, I heard that your operation in Frosinone suffered a minor setback a few days ago?"

The blond middle-aged man looked at Elena, whose face was cold, and asked:

Elena, still looking disheveled from her previous encounter, instinctively resisted speaking to the blond middle-aged man. However, remembering his status as a divine punisher, she hesitated before vaguely replying, "When we went to capture some of Reyes's men, we found nothing!"

After giving a brief answer, Elena, not wanting to waste any more words on the matter, quickly changed the subject, asking, "Jovic, are you alone in Frosinone this time?"

"no!"

The blond middle-aged man, Jovich, the Punisher of the Storm Church stationed on the continent of East Hoy, first shook his head in response to Elena's question, then introduced himself, saying, "This time, I came to Frosinone with Salas, a first-level wizard from our East Hoy St. Nunez Church. However, five days ago, I received a decree from His Holiness the Pope in Kras City, saying that the professor from the secret society may have already arrived in Frosinone. Elena, you need help here, so I came as soon as possible to help you stabilize the situation and assist your actions."

"So I parted ways with Salas and went ahead. If all goes well, Salas should arrive in Frosinone in three days!"

After explaining his situation, Jovic pondered for a few seconds, organizing his thoughts, before asking Elena, "Since Your Majesty has entrusted me with this task, asking me to assist you in dealing with Reyes, I will certainly do my utmost to ensure that Reyes receives the judgment he deserves. However, as you know, Elena, I have never been interested in power struggles, so I cannot help you with other matters..."

Although Elena had heard in the Church of Storms that Jovic was a man of few words and always spoke bluntly, which could make people feel awkward, Margaret only realized how low his emotional intelligence was after meeting him!
