"Heh heh heh, Storm Church? Police Department's Special Operations Team?" As if provoked by something, Margaret sneered upon hearing these two names, and even her stunningly beautiful face became slightly distorted.

Connor discreetly observed the expression on Margaret's face, and doubts arose in his heart. What could have happened to turn Margaret, the confidante of Elena, the youngest cardinal in the history of the Storm Church, into this state?

Margaret was no simple woman. After a brief moment of emotional turmoil, she quickly regained her composure. Without wasting any breath on Connor, she coldly told him, "Book me a first-class, anonymous ticket for the Ivanka cruise ship, which is coming from the capital in three days!"

Sensing the somewhat commanding tone in Margaret's voice, Connor immediately scoffed, saying sarcastically, "My esteemed Reverend Margaret, who do you think you are? And who do you think I am?"

Margaret didn't react to Connor's mockery. She coldly glanced at Connor and said, "I've investigated your Ferguson family. The Ferguson family has a history of wizards, but they were fire wizards. And the advanced meditation technique you practice, Connor, if I'm not mistaken, is based on mental power and dark attributes. Therefore, your advanced meditation technique definitely doesn't come from the Ferguson family!"

"The value of an advanced meditation technique needs no further explanation, right? Connor, the fact that you can practice advanced meditation techniques and also study alchemy speaks volumes!" After saying this, Margaret gave Connor a meaningful look.

After Margaret finished speaking, Connor showed no shock whatsoever. Instead, he smiled, sat down on the sofa, and gestured for Margaret to continue, saying, "Go on, what else came to mind?"

Connor's nonchalant attitude seemed to genuinely surprise Margaret. A hint of doubt flashed in her beautiful eyes, but she still spoke earnestly and decisively: "Connor, I don't want to waste any more words with you. I don't believe you can't feel the stench of blood that's about to envelop Rune. Trust me, helping me is helping yourself!"

"Helping you is helping me?" After carefully considering the meaning of those words, Connor looked up at Margaret and said, "Give me a reason to help you. First-class bearer tickets on the Ivanka are very difficult to obtain, but I don't believe you can't manage it!"

“I naturally have ways to obtain the ticket, but the problem is, if I use those channels, people will find out!” Margaret shrugged, a helpless look on her face. “As for why you should help me, the reason is simple: this ticket is very important to me, and my well-being is also very beneficial to you, Connor. You are an alchemist, but you buy those lower-end alchemical materials from the Mönchengladbach Club, which means your sources of alchemical materials are rather limited, right?”

"Now that the Mönchengladbach Guild is indefinitely closed, obtaining alchemy materials must be very difficult for you, right? You know my identity; I can provide you with alchemy materials from the Storm Church's treasury. So, I'm still valuable to you, aren't I?" Margaret calmly analyzed.

Seeing Margaret's confident and domineering attitude, Connor wanted to refuse outright, but he had to admit that Margaret's analysis was correct; alchemy materials were indeed a major concern for Connor.

Rune is now clearly in a state of panic, with a storm brewing. Connor wants to flee temporarily to avoid trouble, but Reyes disagrees. Therefore, to better protect himself during this turbulent time, increasing his strength is paramount. However, Connor has only recently entered the wizarding world, and it's unrealistic to expect him to go from a novice apprentice to an intermediate one overnight. Forcing him to grow too quickly risks spiraling out of control. So, there's only one way to increase his strength: enchanting items!

If you want to enchant items, everything else is easy, but at the very least you need alchemy materials, right?

After careful consideration, Connor offered his terms in response to Margaret's request: "Tell me your entire plan and objectives, down to the last detail. If I find anything suspicious, there's absolutely no chance!"

"No! Absolutely not!" Margaret reacted strongly to Connor's conditions, rejecting them outright.

"Since we cannot reach an agreement, Miss Margaret, please leave!" Connor said calmly, picking up a cup from the tea table as if to see her off.

"Connor! You..." Seeing Connor's resolute attitude and unwillingness to talk, Margaret's pretty face showed anger for the first time.

"Dear Miss Margaret, if I may be so bold, the foundation of our mutual trust is the Eye of Arbitration, and the scope of that trust is limited to the spells we each cultivate. Now, your request has exceeded that scope of trust. Frankly, I lack trust in you in this matter. I admit your offer is tempting, but for my own safety, I must know the whole story, assess the risks, and only then will I tell you whether I will help you!" Looking at the furious Margaret, Connor spoke earnestly:

Connor explained so clearly that Margaret's face turned pale and then flushed, and after a long while she whispered, "I absolutely cannot tell you everything, but I can tell you the gist: someone left something for me on the Ivanka, and I need to go aboard to retrieve it!"

Hearing this, Connor nodded and continued, "I'm very grateful for your trust in me, Margaret, in telling me this. But could you tell me what you're going to get on the Ivanka?"

Margaret glared at Connor, opened her mouth but made no sound. Connor, who understood her lip reading, instantly looked strange.

If he wasn't mistaken, Margaret was referring to the blood urchin, a rare creature native to the New World. It's a highly effective medicine for treating blood diseases. Margaret wanting this means that her study of blood magic might have encountered some problems and backfired on her.

However, this makes sense. Someone on the Ivanka brought Margaret a blood urchin, and Margaret wanted to go aboard to get it. She could get a ticket from the Church of Storms, but she certainly didn't want the church to know she was on that ship.
