Wizard Earl

Chapter 1052 Ambush

Milik was indeed a ruthless man. After realizing there was an ambush and that Firo had dug a deep pit for him, he didn't try to escape. Instead, he took out the blue orb of magical artifact from his spatial ring and headed straight for Firo. It seemed he wanted to take Firo down with him and die together.

Philo, clearly not expecting Milik to be so ruthless, hurriedly began casting spells to organize a defense while shouting for help towards the bushes where Connor was hiding: "What are you waiting for? Attack now!"

Before Philo could finish speaking, a dark spear, its light concealed, shot out from the bushes with lightning speed, heading straight for Milik's vital point between the eyebrows.

Although he wanted to kill Filo, faced with the sudden appearance of Hades' Spear, Milik had no choice but to abandon his thoughts. He gently tapped the blue orb in his hand, and the orb that Connor believed to be a replica of the legendary "Tear of Gatlampa" immediately turned into a bright blue ice shield, which then automatically blocked Filo's path.

This ice shield, formed from a demonic object, seemed quite bizarre. When Hades' spear struck it, it made no sound at all; it was as if it were swallowed up and disappeared into the ice shield, causing no damage to Milik behind it.

Seeing this, Milick's scarred face remained expressionless, but the pride in his eyes was impossible to hide.

However, the Hades Spear, an offensive spell that Connor had painstakingly cultivated, was not so easy to devour.

The moment the azure ice shield swallowed the Hades Spear, the once radiant azure ice shield dimmed, and a layer of black appeared on its surface. Upon seeing this, Milik frowned slightly and gently touched the azure ice shield with his finger. The ice shield immediately returned to its original blue sphere of light.

Taking advantage of the moment when Connor and Milick were fighting, Filo quickly broke away from Milick. Just as Milick was about to give chase, he suddenly realized that a blue-black circular magic circle had appeared beneath his feet. Upon discovering the magic circle, Milick immediately tried to break free of its restraints, but his efforts were futile. No matter how hard he tried, he could not step out of the magic circle.

Connor, hidden in the bushes, now held a compass in his hand. He expressionlessly cast a spell on the compass, and the runes on it immediately began to change and operate. Under the compass's control, the magic circle trapping Milik underwent a new transformation, rising up a black light barrier that enveloped Milik.

Seeing the light barrier completely trap Milik within the enchanted area, Philo, who had been relentlessly pursued by Milik for days, immediately relaxed. However, his relaxation didn't last long. Connor emerged from the bushes and said calmly, "You have half an hour to recover. After half an hour, you will need to enter the magic circle again!"

Upon hearing Connor's words, Philo, who had thought he had completed his mission and could now sit back and watch Connor and Milick fight to the death, immediately bristled. He glared at Connor and said coldly, "Connor Ferguson, what do you mean?"

"I didn't mean anything by it. If you, Philo, can manage the formation, it's fine for me to enter the formation and fight with Milik!" After saying this calmly, Connor handed the compass in his hand to Philo.

Looking at the intricate runes on the compass Connor handed him, Philo felt quite dizzy. If his years of experience in the wizarding world had given him a basic understanding of alchemy, then he was completely clueless about magic arrays, one of the most profound branches of alchemy. Even if Connor handed him the compass, he wouldn't know how to operate it.

Philo glanced at Connor, then at the compass Connor had handed him, his expression turning hostile. He said coldly, "Connor Ferguson, you've been planning this all along, haven't you?"

"Philo, what have I ever schemed against you for? I already told you before that you bought me a day. The formation I set up can trap Milik, but it won't pose a significant threat to his life."

"If we're talking about scheming, then if you're scheming against me, Philo, don't forget that Milik is after you, not me, Connor Ferguson! I was invited here by you to help you deal with Milik, so don't get your hopes up!" Connor sneered, taking back the compass he had handed out, and then, without holding back, launched into a sharp retort.

Hearing Connor say this, Philo, realizing he was in the wrong, could only remain silent. However, he was unwilling to be driven into the magic circle and fight to the death with Milik by Connor's few words, so he could only clench his fists and glare at Connor.

Seeing that he had achieved the desired effect, and knowing he couldn't afford to offend Firo too much since he still needed to use him for other purposes, Connor changed his tone and began to comfort him, saying, "Firo, don't worry too much. I'll control the array, and I can maximize its power. That way, it'll be quite good if Milik can only unleash half of his strength within the array!"

"Besides that, I've prepared other methods that will help you gain the upper hand in your fight with Milik and take him down!" Connor coaxed Philo.

Although Connor's words were very persuasive, Firo wasn't a child and wouldn't be swayed by a few nice words. However, given the current situation, even though he felt incredibly aggrieved and knew he had been tricked by Connor, he had no choice but to accept it and follow Connor's plan in order to completely eliminate the big problem of Milik. After thinking for a few seconds, Firo asked Connor, "Besides the magic circle restriction, what means do you have to help me kill Firo?"

Seeing that Firo's attitude had finally softened, Connor smiled slightly, then pointed to the magic circle and began to explain to Firo, "This magic circle is called the Anseron Maze. It was created by the alchemist Anseron hundreds of years ago. Although its offensive power is average, it is truly first-rate in trapping enemies. Besides trapping enemies, this magic circle also has several other little-known uses..."
