In the Navas Forest at night, time flew by amidst the excited roars of magical beasts. Soon, five hours had passed, and a figure slowly approached a tall olive tree not far away. On the trunk of this tree, Connor Ferguson was sitting leisurely.

Connor was not surprised at all by De Zelby's approach from behind, nor did he turn around to face the person.

From the moment De Zelby assigned him to night watch, Connor realized that although De Zelby nominally arranged for him to keep watch with him, he actually wanted to talk to him away from Milik. Coincidentally, Connor also wanted to get information from De Zelby, so the two hit it off. Otherwise, why would Connor obediently follow De Zelby's arrangements to keep watch, and even keep watch so far away from the camp? This squad of Arbitrators beside me is my helper!"

Connor, sitting in the olive tree with his back to De Zelby, was slightly surprised when he heard De Zelby's words. He turned around and looked at De Zelby with interest.

Connor was not surprised by De Zelby's claim that he had a mission to kill him, nor did he doubt the truthfulness of De Zelby's words. Ever since Connor was forced by Christant to agree to help the Church of Storms search for the ruins, he knew very well that this was a difficult task. If he was not careful, the Church of Storms would retaliate. Therefore, Connor had long been mentally prepared for the Church of Storms to kill him and had prepared a way to deal with it.

What really surprised Connor was that DeZelby dropped such a bombshell right off the bat!

After Milik finished explaining his ideas, De Zelby wanted to talk to Connor about something, which Connor knew perfectly well, even though he hadn't said it aloud yet.

For Dezelby, Milik's order was undoubtedly a thankless and arduous task. Hunting down Firo in the Navas Forest not only risked the annihilation of their entire team, but even if they were lucky enough to avoid that fate, casualties were inevitable. Now, half of the Arbitrators' team was already dead, and Dezelby would be held responsible upon his return. If a few more died, even if Dezelby returned to the Storm Church alive, he would definitely not have a good outcome.

Moreover, even if Firo were to be killed in the end, the credit would go to Milik, and it would have nothing to do with Dezelby. So, this kind of thing, risking one's life and doing all the work for someone else, is something that not only Dezelby wouldn't want to do, but anyone else certainly wouldn't want to do either.

Although he was reluctant to do it, the Storm Token in Milik's hand, belonging to Cardinal Hummels, was absolutely genuine. If he refused Milik's request, Milik could use De Zerbi's lack of cooperation as an excuse to exaggerate the situation to Cardinal Hummels and shift all the blame for not eliminating Firo onto De Zerbi. At that point, De Zerbi would definitely offend Hummels, the next Pope of the Storm Church.

Therefore, De Zelby was really in a headache, not knowing what to do. However, being experienced and cunning, De Zelby came up with a way to break the deadlock. In his plan, the dark wizard Connor Ferguson was the key to breaking the deadlock. This is why De Zelby is now deliberately avoiding Milick under the pretext of keeping watch, and is now talking to Connor alone.

"The Storm Token in Milik's hand represents Cardinal Hummels, and Connor Ferguson, I believe you are well aware of Cardinal Hummels's prestige within the Church. So even if you don't consider me, but rather my family, friends, and future generations, I cannot afford to offend Cardinal Hummels. Therefore, my only recourse in the matter is to comply with Milik's proposal!"

"But Connor Ferguson, you need to think carefully. If I accept Milick's proposal, who will be hurt the most? You're the only one in this team who isn't from the Church of Storms, and most importantly, Connor, you're a dark wizard. If you encounter any danger while chasing Filo, Connor, what do you think your chances of survival are?" De Zelby spoke slowly to Connor in an extremely calm tone.
